Most of the phones you mentioned are quite bigger than Vivaz. Plus, none of these matches the it's camera. The Vivaz has a nice design, they really went to town on the 'human curvature' on that device and it worked.
I'm wondering if SE had any feature phones lined up for 2011.
Or will they all be of the cake and sweet variety.

Yeah. I get the feeling that the A-platform is dead more and more. The only feature phones I can see coming are Spiro-like Sagem phones.... Hope it's not true though, cause that is what I love SE for

That's a Custom ROM made from the system.img from the just released 2.3 SDK. Not only it is running on old X10 kernel, it probably has more bugs than ever imagined.

I never said once that it'll be a 2.2 update. I just said there's a chance of a core update(to which version I don't know), but it is up to SE's marketing team to what extent they want the X10 to go to. The initial plan is much farther than I thought, however, there's no new details regarding it lately, which means it may or may not have been scrapped. My details only refers to the internal naming, by no means does it say what Android version it is going to. It's just my own speculation. The only way we'll know is after this December 9th event coming, then things should be more clear on SE's direction. Cheers

why not just revive the cybershot and walkman line and scrap the EU and put all the best on Xperia brand? what's the sense of making xperia walkman/cybershot? imo xperia brand should be only for premium high end phones... they already lowered the brand with X8...

Sony Ericsson Patent For Projector Phone With Projector Screen
An interesting wee patent from Sony Ericsson has turne dup depicting a device with an inbuilt projection screen. Yes I did type 'projection screen' and not 'projector', although it has one of those too.
The idea of cramming a projector into a phone is nothing new of course, there have been designs and patents before, but it's never been a technology that's gotten off the ground and found mass appeal. Probably because of the limited use it would find outside business types.
Anyway, Sony Ericsson's idea here, as you can see in the patent illustration, is to include an extendible projector screen in the device. That pretty much instantly solves the dilemma of having to find a suitable projection surface and it also gives you a hefty chunk more of display space for things like watching films, etc.
Of course this is still very much confined to the drawing board for the moment, but interesting nonetheless.
