Benchmark is bullshit get arc

Not bullshit but reflects the FACT that Galaxy S in more powerful than Arc. But of course overall the Arc is as good if not better than Galaxy S.

'List of pros'.... Meaning? Dual Core? Sorry, but who exactly is that a pro for? All subjective! I sure dont need or want dual core at this point. The way I use my phone doesnt warrant one. So GSMArenas pros and cons are welcome, but remember, are their own. Everyone is different.

PS. can we keep discussions of Arc to the dedicated thread

The prototype Arc beats the crap out of the GS in both the benchmarks. So whats your point av'bullmax'fan?

Huge Spec Leak: Wildfire 2, Desire 2, Desire HD2, and Galaxy S2 (source : http://www.phandroid.com)
http://phandroid.com/2011/02/[....]re-2-desire-hd2-and-galaxy-s2/

Aside from the fact that all of these phones have the number “2″ in them, something amazing has happened – specs for the HTC Wildfire 2, HTC Desire 2, HTC Desire HD2, and the Samsung Galaxy S2 have all been leaked. Pocketnow is our benefactor today. Let’s dive in.

The Samsung Galaxy S2

will not have Samsung’s dual-core Orion chipset as we once hoped it would, but it does have Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon. Samsung likely went this route due to their chipset not being ready in time, but we thought they’d be going with NVIDIA earlier on.

It houses the same Adreno 205 GPU found in the Scorpion processor. As expected, it’ll have an 8 megapixel camera that can record HD video. It’ll have 16GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM to round out its performance specs. The display is said to be Super AMOLED and will be nearly 4.3 inches.

The Desire HD2

will have a qHD Super LCD display (the slide says it’ll be 3.3 inches, but I have a feeling that’s not quite accurate) and Qualcomm’s MSM8260 Snapdragon dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with an Adreno 205 GPU. It, too, has an 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording – no surprise there – and will have 8GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM.

The Desire 2

is a bit less powerful with a 1GHz Qualcomm 8250 processor – this one isn’t dual-core and has the older Adreno 200 GPU. It also has a 3.7 inch qHD Super LCD display, an 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording, 8GB of internal storage, and 512 MB of RAM.

Finally, the Wildfire 2

is indeed real and will unsurprisingly be the slowest of the bunch with a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and an Adreno 200 GPU. It has a 3.2 inch TFT HVGA display, a 5 megapixel camera with no HD recording capabilities, only 384 MB of RAM, and little internal storage to work with.

Why do we keep talking about announced phones in a rumor thread?

One Quick QUESTION TO ALL..

Now that We all know there will be
Xperia Arc
Xperia Play
Xperia Neo
Xperia Neo Pro
Xperia Mini2
Xperia Mini2 Pro and
Yendo [i heard fix it and launch in q2?]
+ Maybe 1 Big Smartphone

Will be able to MANUFACTURE all these Devices in the given time Q2 RELEASE??
We have seen ARC and PLAY heading to many carriers will they able to produce without any delays ??Now that the demand will be more for Play and maybe others?? has some bad history with late release so worried ..
Hopefully They launch soon and dont loose market.

I don't see any problem here. They will be on schedule this time or else they will loose their credibility earned from years past. As for a Yendo fix or remake, I really haven't heard anything about it. Plus, everyone is saying that a Neo Pro will be released among its keyboard less sibling but has anyone have a proof about that ? I think that a 3,7 inch (or larger) screen is more than enough for a full qwerty on screen keypad . Anyway 2 days have left, I really can't wait.

Wow no 1gb ram and no adreno 220 "only" snapdragon dual-core.
Is that bad think about the U8500.

Assuming those Samsung and HTC specs are true then the SE Arc is really a very good choice for me, not that I was going to change my choice as I had already made up my mind up regarding the Arc. Nothing extraordinary in those phones.

My guess would be that desire2 and wildfire2 will be released april, making desire2 compete with arc. HD2 and galaxy S2 will be a later release. Maybe june or something as qualcomms dualcore is not ready yet (which is why arc doesnt have it). Thats what I hope anyway

@Dups!My sentiments exactly. I'm not sure dual core will make that much of a difference in real terms to the performance of a well optimised single-core processor.

The specs are wrong. Dual core Snapdragons have Adreno 220 GPU and not 205 as this article mentions. You can check the official Qualcomm page.
And Galaxy S2 has Exynos (Orion) dual core not snapdragon. With MALI 400 Quad Core GPU

Nothing is 100% until announcement, anything could happen between now and then.

Hopefully, there will something more they will have been keeping up their sleeve that will surprise us, not that the current devices we have learned about aren't competitive enough.

Don't expect too much and we won't be disappointed.

Posted by justus333
What would be the sense of any more announcements? They have their flagship for the first half of 2011 and would be stupid to announce a competitor already. Maybe a pre announcement, like once the Satio...

Posted by bodeh6
So question... all the phones being announced at MWC by SE will be Android? I guess the classic SE UI will probably get announcements later with some low to mid range phones.

and what does your trustworthy source say?

The mystery device is actually a washing machine which also washes dishes, can vacuum, cook food and can also provide 10 hours of air conditioning if your A/C goes kaput. Oh I forgot to mention, it has Android 3,2.4,Symbian^3,WM7 and A2 as quadraboot with a 1500000000000000000maH battery. Will be out by the 16th of Feb at a price tag of 500 euros.

You've forgot the 3D-screen'n'cam...

Posted by se_dude
It has a 4D cam and can capture images before and ahead of time at 800 fps. It has a 100mp camera and inbuilt memory of a Million Tb. Also, it is hardware supported by Se, so whenever a new sensor is out in the market it is manually replaced. Service is like dominos, 30 minutes or free.

Of all the thing you said ...you forgotten it is using LTEv4 with 1terrabit/sec speed and a 16core ARMextreme processor that able to throw out 10terraflop calculation. For home network, it is using WiFi 802.11Z with 10terrabit/sec speed within 1km range. Not to mention Bluetooth v6 that have 10Megabit/sec transfer rate but battery juice sucking speed that is 100times less than the current version

I know what's on back2you's mind. Its up to what they do; don't forget all those Paris leaks, advert and hype with no announcement in the end. Don't forget the loss of PK and all his lovely leaks we used to enjoy. Realistically, you all know that there is a dual core device out there, they have WP7 devices in waiting and with Nokia making waves they may be back on the agenda. We'll find out soon enough.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were some mid to low ends. A qwerty phone is missing, thats something that they should really announce soon. They will most likely give out a nice games list for the Play and hype up the Playstation service. They would want the games available on other phones and maybe some other good features. Will the games be downloadable or do they come on a memory card? Multiplayer online through 3g or via wifi? Can you bluetooth a couple of devices together for co-op games? There's a lot to learn still so it should be interesting.
