Its total balls. The mayan calender ends in 2012 not planet earth..
Posted by ceaser2008
2012... Long way to go. Why worry? If the world is going to end, we will also end.
Posted by alenn
i read a joke that the Mayans ended the calender cuz they haven't had enough space
IMO it's all b*llshit
Posted by hihihans
The Mayan people were busy making the rest when they disappeared
Posted by Bonovox
If it all ends no there is nothing we can do like they do in Holywood films
Posted by skurk198
Lol, but think about it, it would'nt be a bad thing if the world had to end, cause the way the world runs today I think that we'd be safer in heaven, hehehe
Posted by hihihans
If you're in heaven when the world ends, you'll have a problem to land your plane
Posted by Bonovox
What would you say to god at the pearly gates when your time comes?? I would say WHERE YA BEEN??
Posted by hihihans
HAVING A NAP

i totally don't believe that the world is ending in 2012.. it's the greatest joke i ever heard
the reason is we have corned beef that will expires in 2013???,,,
Posted by Bonovox
Well that's a good enough reason but no one really knows the whole planet could explode tomorrow for all we know. If it happens we will all be corned beef

Well ending or not ending that depends on tomorrow. But i know about this 2012 from 2005 told by my spiritual teacher. He also added that from 2008 and 2009, world will became aware of it as its coming. And it has happened. From last two years, this thing is discussed greatly.
He has his own theory for that. I cannot write all things here but he does talked about escape from it.

Flying cars in 2050.
Thats what we said 2010 would be like in 2000, but so far the only new thing we have is LED 3D TVs, Bluray and Touchscreen phones on CDMA 4G < and thats only in the US or whatever (I'm not sure I live in the UK)

They have flying cars in the latest Star Trek film so why not eh??

My friend Trey once said that he thought the guy that was in charge of the Mayan Calendar totally meant to finish it, but he got run over by a donkey cart one day on his way home from work

Being a Muslim we know... We may die/end anytime even in 2011 but it is damn sure that this world cannot meet its end upto at least 40 (or 40 + ___ years).

The world ends when we die and everyone dies sooner or later nothing can ever stop that so why worry about 2012 or whenever its meant to happen?

With what's happening in Japan those mayan prophecies now seem increasingly plausible

I don't see Earth dying on 2012, when you said "world" i think you refer to the human race, Earth will only die for these scientifically based scenarios:
1.) An asteroid collision with size enough to crush the planet
2.) undiscovered near-earth Supernova bursting GRBs incinerating Earth's surface
3.) death of the Sun 5 billion years later (which will engulf the planet alongside mercury, venus and mars, perhaps jupiter too :-0), coincidentally scientists said Earth will is also subjected to die on the same timeline
I simply ignore those unscientific prophesies as they tend to be oversensational. on the religious side, only god knows when will be the end.

The mayan's also predicted your Option No-1 as the likely cause of the end of the world and its the most likely scenario according to scientists as well as you said but the scary thing is the mayan's predicted all of this 1000's of years before any kind of real science was around.

I think you are referring to the "nibiru" collision. Scientist has said that there were no large near earth asteroids directly approaching earth in the next few years or more (or maybe decades), if there is, they assure that the trajectory of these large chunks of rock won't be directly aimed on the planet. SETI even denies the existence of such large planetary objects like nibiru (which is very likely the V838 MON which is a Star and not a planet nor asteroid) hitting earth.
Also, add to that is the presence of Jupiter, the largest planet with far awesome gravitational pull than Earth and its orbit much closer to the asteroid belt. if there is a large chunk of asteroid exiting the belt, Jupiter would likely pull the asteroid towards it and hit them instead.

I do hope nobody starts thinking that what has happened in Japan is part of the end. Earthquakes have always happened and believe it or not the world would not function properly if we did not have earthquakes. It would be a cold and dead place.

Scientists are not always right in fact when it comes to Astronomy and Astrology and the Science of Space everything is a calculated guess rather than solid proof. No one can predict if an Astroid or Meteor was suddenly to appear from deep space straight for us.Scientists have been wrong about many things they can't even correctly predict when and where earthquakes will strike as with what's happened in Japan, so no one can say for sure.
