I was reading my Nokia 5530 XM manual and I saw this:

If you look closely it says "In France, you are only allowed to use WLAN indoors" I mean is that true, can you only use Wi-Fi indoors in France?

I think its stupid really making it illegal or banned to use Wi-Fi outdoors, How can you use Facebook or post to your blog when you see something you like or its urgent (very unlikely it would be urgent though)

The P1 box says the same: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=163146

But here are the reasons: http://padawan.info/en/2003/07/wifi-in-france.html

Israel also banned bluetooth for a very long time, though that is no longer an issue.

However, they did hold the initial iPads in custmos that were bought from US by individuals due to their wifi laws that disallow powerful wifi signals, but they've now also been released after local testing showed that the ipad wifi signals were within limits

Bluetooth, thats crazy! Come on you buy a high range phone and only be able to use bluetooth and wi-fi indoors! Its good they quit the bluetooth law.
