@irvblade: no problem using the T68m(black rubberized) as an alternate battery for your T68i. same specifications, same size, only differs in color. hope this help.

I think may b its not a record my standbye lasted 300hrs

Posted by 701
@ golfer: it's normal 4 hours waping.I get 5 hours with a motorola but being gprs connection u might say there r some times when it idle:)

Posted by punkserb
fully charged, mine never goes over 184 hours standby, sometimers 190. is there something wrong?

Posted by Aivar
To punkserb:

My girlfriend has T65. After charging the phone, it never shows more than 155-166 hours standby. But nearly always her phone actually lasts ca 190-200 hours, even more (and she is not a rare phone user).

But why the phone acts so, it would be interesting to know.

Aivar

PS. And as I have said: my T68i shows after charging usually 310-330, max 354 hours. But usually it last also ca 200 hours, in recent times ca 220 hours; record is still 267 hours.

Hi!

I get appr. 330h of standby time, talk time up to 12h. Lasts depending on use from day to five days. I've had T68i for 4 weeks.

I feel standyby times gives fairly accurate time of battery life if you have no activity, e.g. during night it reduces with 7-8 hours.

If talk a while or use camera or so, it decreases rapidly (which is natural).

Has anyone noticed variation in standby and talk times?

My standby time reduces drastically if I connect a chatboard or a camera and look stdby time immediately after - just as if only having them connected drained battery. If I disconnect the accessory, stdby time jumps up.

My talktime varies as well, at some point it can by 2h and later elsewhere it shows more. I suppose it depends on how good is the network, the more power the phone needs to use to communicate with Base Station, the less talk time it gives.

Just guessing: is the battery of T610 more powerful? Or is the T68i with its battery still the number one?

Posted by JohnDoe
I've been so impressed with my T68i battery. It's the best battery life I have ever had from a moby phone!

Posted by Aivar
My T68i is now nearly 1 year and 1 month old. But the battery is still great. AVERAGE standby is some hours more than 8 days.

And recently, after 24 hours standby, it showed that the standby left is still 312 hours! And after 48 hours it was 291 hours! Amazing...

Posted by tristan_john
wow that's great Aivar. my t68i battery still works very well, i have it for almost a year now.

Posted by bonito99
My batt(over a year old) is turned on 24/7 including gprs, calls, texts, and Mca-25, Still takes me around 2-3 days before recharging it again. Cheers SE!

I manage to get 4 days out of mine. With daily calls and sms.

Posted by ukchalky
I wouldnt say I use my phone a lot, but I make a few calls, send 4 or 5 sms a day, play a few games etc.. and the battery usually lasts me anywhere between 4 and 6 days.

The battery is sooo much better than my old Nokia one!

Hello,

I've had my t68i for about 8 or 9 months now. On a full charge, I only show 55hrs standby time on the status display. However on light to moderate use, the phone does stay up for about two and a half days maximum.... pretty much approximates the actual standby time.

My SW version is R8A004.

Btw, I know for a fact that battery life is also affected when you're too far away from a cell site, or when you're frequently in a null point or dead spot... as this would make your phone transmit a more powerfull signal to compensate for the less-than-optimum signal strength and/or quality.

I had same fault with my T39m. Then I went to servicepoint and after some days they said "Your phone has a defect we can't fix". And they gave to me a new phone...

I guess you might have to visit your servicepoint too.

Noted. Thanks.

Has anybody seen after charging that his/her T68i shows 390 hours for the standby (the official maximum)?

Posted by exodus
I got 333hrs.

currently wont go higher than 290hrs

Posted by Aivar
AND the last question in this post [to the (previous) owners of T68i]:

After charging, which has been the greatest standby time? I mean, what does your phone shows on display.

Mine is 354 hours (it has happened twice).

Posted by vinnieza
If you charge your battery up every night will it damge it (the battery)?
thanks

Posted by GoH
nope. it goes into trickle charge till really full, den disconnects automatically. and there is still going around about using thye phone till it completely depletes: some says if u use it till it switches off, it'll shorten batt life, as its charge/discharge cycles are not high, whereas some say it wont... im quite confused in this area.
i hope i dont start another similar debate by bringing up this old argument...

Mine only lasts about 2 days so thats not good ??? i have the bluetooth on all the time and i use it with my bluetooth headset , send a lot of mms and talk about aprox. 15 minutes a day so is that goog or should it last longer ...

Posted by drhunter
My 12month old T68i is now retired to my mum's handbag. She only uses it occasionally and usually forgets to charge it until the battery dies but the other day i noticed that it was still on nearly two weeks since the last charge! (very little useage, no gprs, no BT, no unnecessary lights on etc)
Seems better than my T610, but i guess its cos i txt more and use gprs a lot now!

Posted by ommadawn
I guess lythium polymer batteries have the advantage of the interdependent relation standby/talk time is not so direct...i mean, the decrease of one does not affect so much the other, one notices that, when u see the stanby time decreasing, but still remembering that the talk time u have stays almost the same (subtracted of the one u spent, off course)...

mine lasts 4 days, talking a lot, bluetooth on, lights off, but shut down at night.

Erm the batt is crap onda wap ive had my t68i nearly 2wks my SIEMENS S55 IS BETTA BROWSING WAP LOL

My battery is best with my t68i -why??? because I use DIE HARD BATTERIES (12 volts)!!!

Posted by Aivar
I'm sorry to wake up this post again, but I just have to share this exciting info with you. I really love my T68i. I like its / her shape, functions etc. And especially its superb ability to take maximum from its mighty battery.

Now my T68i is 1 year and 7,5 months old. And just few minutes ago it set NEW STANDBY RECORD: 278 hours (11 days and 14 hours)!!! All this time my phone was constantly switched on and I carried it with myself everywhere. Though, I talked really a bit.

As I remember abut my T18s - after 1,5 years I had to buy a new battery and even the it did not last more than 3 days.

Long life to T68i all over the world!

Posted by BobaFett
Congra! My batt is in a very good condition too, but i charge it almost every day because i talk and surfe on wap a lot. Reg

Posted by suburbian69
Well, my old T68i battery lasted about 4.5 days when I was at home in London where there's a very strong signal, but on the odd occasion when I went to my parents house in in the middle of nowhere, the battery struggled to make it for 24 hours, even if it was left in standby permanently, with no use at all.

I found that battery longevity is entirely down to whether the phone is searching for a signal or not, the amount of power it uses to look for a transmitter/receiver must be pretty huge?!

Posted by buckle247
normally get 2-3 days out of my t610, charge it every other nite as i don't want it to run out of life, halfway through the day when i am not near my charger. I use wap, gprs, bluetooth always on, and text + use camera, which is why it runs-down quickly, i bet between the hours or 9am to 1am an hour doesn't pass with my phone being used for something.

Posted by 701
Coverage is everything. While in the city, i can get almost 3 days but when i spent 2 days on the road coming from France thru Germany, austria, hungary and romania, I got 2 days out of it..coverage is also tricky depending on so many factors.

Posted by djpowelly
I get about 4-5 days on mine..... Thats bout 3 texts a day, a 10 min call every day, the occational bluejack and wap usage. Also all the games i play while im in school!!!

Posted by Ivan Kusturin
I need to charge my battery every day.
I'm using GPRS almost all day,I take some pics with my mca-30 every day, send about 10-15 sms's and talk about 5-10 minutes. And when I'm home I use my t68i as a GPRS modem (connected to PC via bluetooth).I think that battery cannot last longer than this so I'm satisfied...

Cheers

Now the only thing that keeps me from getting a t68i is the screen.Otherwise, i`d only buy it for its size and battery. This is one helluva battery we're talking about!

Posted by GodzRekordz
I charge my T68 twice a week, once on friday for the weekend (heavy use) and on monday (lasts till friday).

Now i just leave it on dont use it that often 'cos i got a nice new P800 and the old T68 it lasts for over a week

Posted by Chinoz
My record is a whole 290 hrs (as stated by the Standby Time reader) when I left it on, but never touched it.

Posted by Ivan Kusturin
how can you do that...?

Posted by Aivar
To Chinoz:

The official standy time [theoretical] maximum is 290 hours for T68 and 390 hours for T68i.

Posted by Bostein
When I first bought my t68i, it could last for a full week, but know after 13 month, it can only last for 4 days max. Have I mistreat that battery or what...??

Posted by Aivar
To Bostein:

During those 4 days - how do you use your phone? How many calls, gprs, sms, games, bluetooth (etc)?

Posted by duo_m
mine only lasts 3 1/2 days but i use it with an mca-10 and hpr-20 aside from sms/mms. i'm thinking of replacing the battery; the new one the main and the old, a reserve.
oh yeah does anybody know if the joystick counter in the esoteric classic t68i be reset?

Posted by BobaFett
Hej, yeap there is a way 2 reset it, sorry, donnow how. But its 4 sure, reg

Posted by borg_
My record with my old T68i, was 6 days, of non stop use 24h a day.

I miss this stand-by time, my t630 only stays 4 days

Posted by Jowi
2 days max

I don't use it to often, not so many calls, no gprs, no bluetooth (u must have think I miss the best parts of T68i ). But sometimes I do play games, and I'm a heavy smser. But those thing won't drain a lot of battery power..., is it?

Posted by Aivar
To Bostein:

I don't know for sure, but one my firend says that sms-ing demands quite a lot of battery enegry. I have never before heard about it, so I can't say wether is it true or not.

But as I have experienced, when my T68i flashes red LED and I want to write e-mail or SMS, the battery dies pretty quickly. Even faster than I would use the phone for calling for the same time-period what would take for writing sms.

My T68i will be 2 years old in june and the AVERAGE standby time still more than 8,5 days.

Also I don't see yet any good looking SE phone I would like to buy next.

Posted by Bostein
@Aivar
Is that true? Well, if that's true, then it explain why my battery lifetime is worse. Or maybe your country have better GSM coverage than mine, so u don't use up your battery too much just to search for network.

Speaking about changing handset, I think I'm interested w/ Siemens M65. Some of my friends have proved that the "robust" kind of handset have better lifetime, dunno if this is true, I think better start a new thread for this .
Too bad that SE don't have this kind of phone because I'm having big problem with dust in my t68i (esp. around the joystick area) and I heard that t610 also have the same problem. Mine is getting old anyway...
