Just wanted to praise the battery of T68i. It is really powerful. I have this mobile phone since last 9 months. And recently it "made" a new record of duration: 267 hours! It is 11 days and 3 hours.

During this 267 hours my mobile phone was never switch off. Yes, I used it seldom, but had it always with me, so it did not stand all this time in the same place.

And the average standby is 7,5 days.

good on ya mate!! good on ya

mine usually lasts only 3 days as i'm a heavy user with gprs, wap, and IR on as and when i need it....but i'm happy with the 3 days....if it were a nok*a, i'm sure i'd hafta charge the battery every nite....

Posted by girigiom
Mine never got that far....

Posted by Necrosis
@Aivar:

Mine lasted for about 9 days within the following conditions: no backlight, turned off during the night, a couple of calls and SMS. A personal record

With moderate use, it lasts 5 days, maximum. Intensive use, 3 days.

Undoubtly one of the best phones I've ever had regarding battery life.

rox!

mine last for less than a day...on heavy texting/sms, average voice calls, heavy use of GPRS (wap/modem)...heavy use of MMs...email

now that's wat i call putting the phone to GOOD use!!! well done....

Hi, guys! When do you start to charge your T68i? I'll do it, when the phone has so little energy that it switches off. After that I usually let the phone to get new energy during all night, so it makes the average charging time ca 10-12 hours.

And when I finish charging, phone showed that it has standby time ca 330 hours (usually) up to 354 hours (maximum so far). Of course, then it start quickly decrease during first 12 hours.

PS. About talking time: once my phone showed after charging that it has talking time 12 hours 12 minutes! It was one exception (as you know the official rate for T68i talking time is up to 12 hours). Usually my T68i shows after charging that talking time is 5-8 hours.

My T68i lasts ages and I use E-mail over GPRS, a fair amount of texts and I now have a communicam MCA25 and the lil bugger goes for a week or more!! I dont call for that long though probably about 30 mins a week in total.

I think this is quite impressive but it does not match my best ever on my T39m with no usage...left it on and it went for about 2 weeks before needing to recharge...with GPRS on!!

My t68i still outlasts my mate's 70 Brick 50!! (But anything will!!)

Posted by DelaCruz
Damn that is long. Mine tops 3 days or less. Its a petty that there are people that can have their phone on stand by for a long period of time. It just show how lonley they are not having any people that calls them!/D

Posted by chaos_ed
I have to admit ive not had my cam that long and itll probably cause my batt to die. The one thing i forgot to say is that i switch my t68i off at nite.

I dont call people when I am asleep. (at least I THINK I don't sleep talker is there such a thing )

Id say three days solid is good if ya call and txt and stuff

Posted by DelaCruz
Chaos, even though you have no plans of calling, people might wanna call you, it might be an emergency, them its good to have the cell close!/D

i charge my t68i when the battery runs out.

the annoying thing is that it always seems to be about lunchtime when that happens, so i have to lose the use of it for about a day!

My personal best is about 4 days. on my old phone (motorola v50) i once got 3 days with heavy texting

Posted by T68iFan
I also am impressed with the T68i battery. I only make a few voice calls a day, but I heavily use GPRS/data services. I get about 3 solid days of use.

It is so much better than my last phone, the Samsung A500. When the A500 battery indicator was at half-way, I knew I only had like 60 more minutes of use. But with the T68i, a half-way battery indicator means I still have a good day and a half of use left.

Mine lasts around 1.5 days with heavy gprs use.I think Ericsson is one of those companies that really lives up to their claims when it comes to battery life and most of their phones. In a way, their brochures and manual are quite true.I had a t20m and with average use and with the fm radio attachd, battery lasted 5 days. Also with my r320s,with just a single bar in the battery indicator and a single battery low warning,i managed to talk 4 30 minutes

Posted by The GLENSTR
I charge when the bat is on the yellow for an hour! With heavy GPRS SMS and bluetooth, 2 days!;-) brick 76? Also 2! 2 batts per day! My frnd always brings an xtra bat in school!:-D

Posted by Aivar
When my battery symbol goes on empty (with no lines to show), it still "lives" some 12 hours. And if I don't use the phone, it can hold more than 24 hours before the phone switches off.

TO mj36: I'm glad that my T68i usually switches off at midnight. And I go to bed usually at 1-3 am, so I just let the phone charging overnight.

But of course sometimes it turns off during busy day..

PS. My girlfriend got recently the T65. She talks more than I do But her phone's battery is also good: average 7 days, maximum yet 9 days and 8 hours!

Posted by punkserb
my t68i after a full charge shows MAX 207 hours standby and that goes to 190 after 10 minutes. but i can get about 2 days out of it with gprs, sms, and some calls. the reception i'm at isn't the best either.

Posted by quanax
I am not happy with my battery, it works max. 16 hours. But i am really heavy GPRS user and i play too much Er x:-D

Posted by Del
After charging I usualy get 317 hours displayed but I am quite a heavy evening and weekend user so I get about 5-6 days charge.

Posted by Jowi
i charge it as soon as i get the battery low warning

Posted by Aivar
Just wanted to add that today my T68i made the second 11-day standby (+ one hour)

Posted by dBAGZiq
omg...my battery last just for3-4 days!! but i frequently use it...texting...calling and bluejacking...

Posted by astigino
i have a question...when do i really have to charge my T68i? when the red LED starts blinking?(for low bat) or just wait for my unit to drain its battery? TIA

Posted by pachy
@Astigino, T68i uses a li-polymer battery, they dont need draining to nothing like older kinds of battery, so top it up when you can, even if you don`t fully charge it, it doesn`t matter, i gave mine 20mins here & there when it was convenient for me, it never got fully drained & it lasted well over a year & was still 300 hrs standby after a full charge after 14months heavy use.

Posted by Aivar
To astigino and pachy:

I know that people say it does not matter when do you start to charge your T68i and how long do you let it charging. But I have experienced that if I charge the phone (battery) only 2-3 hours, it gives less standby time than I charge it 10-12 hours as usually. And it does not harm the phone either battery if you charge it even 24 hours.

When to start charging? I'm convinced that it be better for battery (and battery life) if you star to charge after the phone has switched off (because of battery goes so empty). As you know: the battery lives longer if you don't charge it very often. All batteries have so-called maximum charging-cycles after what they don't contain so much power (energy) as at the beginning.

I have had my T68i 9 months and before charging I always let the battery to go empty until the phone switches off. Also I usually charge it 10-12 hours as I said (just let it charge overnight).

And result is here: average standby is now a bit more than 8 days, maximum 11 days and more (267 hours).

Hello there!

I agree. I too notice that even though the green led is on (meaning charge is complete), if I let it charge an extra 3-4 hours the stanby time increases dramatically.

Posted by benjamingreenau
as previously posted somewhere - the LED only represents the fast charging. The rest of the charge must be gotten through trickle charge i.e very very slow but it is only for approx. 2% of the battery.

OK good to know!

Greetz!

That's exactly what I do and therefor, I have managed to keep the battery functional and lasting.

My t68i's battery went dead a couple of minutes ago and I charged it precisely 2 weeks ago! A new Guiness record for me

In order to achieve this, I turned backlight off during the day, and turned the phone off at night whilst . Had a daily moderate use:

- A couple of SMSes,
- A couple of calls, 2 minutes average
- Email checking through GPRS

Never had such a lasting phone battery! Praise t68i, praise

Hey dudez

How the f**k do you get over 1 day with your T68i?!?!
When I had my ex-T68i, I was smsing and waping and talking and GPRSing like an evil and I never got over 1 day of battery life
So how do you do this? I can't believe the T68i can be "alive" for more than 5 days... that's just amazing to me... Next week I am buying a T68i, again, so I'll try my best... although, approx. 500SMS/month, 40hrs talktime/month, 50MB GPRS/month and wap and stuff, will not let my battery to live so long...

Posted by Aivar
Hi, Stuffman!

As I said I'm quite a rear user: I have T68i almost all the time with me, but usually I don't use it so much. Just I don't have to, because I can spend my employer's money for calls, emails and internet . And therefore the standby times of my T68i are so great. Of course, if I would talk some 5-6 hours continuously, then those 5-6 hours would be also the maximum standby time.

When you get your new T68i just do one attempt: after a long period charging use your phone only some minutes for talking and GPRS - you'll see the result.

But still the battery of T68i is mighty! When I had T10s and T18s, the battery gave to me only 2-3 days.

Wow!!!

Never had a phone that would last more than 1 or 1 and a half day

Even the Nokia 6310 (BTW this phone has the best battery ever) last 1, max. 1 and a half day in my hands

Posted by dadickin
My mates Nokia 6310, (that is the one with bluetooth yeah?) has a genuine battery, it NEVER lasts as long as my T68i, and although i might not use my phone for an entire day or so, when I do use, I tend to really use it, 30-40 minute calls are very frequent for me.

Saying that he is one of the nokia people we all have so much fun with, he ALWAYS leaves his bluetooth on, if I do a search at work, his is always there!

Posted by ked69
battery life on the T68i is the best i have ever encountered. with regards to charging have always thought it was difficult to overcharge batteries because manufactures take into acount that they will be charged overnite anyway!!!!

Posted by dadickin
I agree with Ked69, maybe not the best, but it is not far - come on people if you want a nice small phone that has LOADS of features, the T68i is the best on the UK market at the min.

I maybe biased, as all of my nokia experiences have been poor

Hi All,

I recently got my T68i (finally) and am pretty impressed with the battery life too.

However, do all the talktime counters lie?
Standby seems about right, although it does vary here and there. But talktime always starts out at like 6.5hours, and quickly drops.

When here in Canada, my phone always says approx 280hours stdby, but in Taiwan & Hong Kong it never said more than 200 hours!

When returning from Taiwan, it said 180 in Taiwain, and I then got on a plane, came to Vancouver, got off, and it said 230!

Go figure!

Also, on my old T39, it seemed every minute of talktime was equivalent to an hour of standby. So 180 hours standby meant 3 hours talktime. Is that so with the T68?

Posted by peppers
My (T68i) battery lasts about 2 days. I had Nokia 6310 before. With the same usage it lasted easely 5 day.

Posted by Aivar
Just a little note: my T68i is now 10 months old, but the average stanby time is some hours less than 8 days. Impressive! The record is still some hour more than 11 days - 267 hours.

Peppers: Sa oled vist suur helistaja ja lisavőimaluste kasutaja? Kuidas muidu tundub: kas parem on Nokia 6310 vői T68i?

I dont think that the battery of the T68i is very powerfull! With my battery its already losing strength. Before I could easily have it on standby for 5 days. Now the max standby time is reduced to 3 days! Maybe its because I call more . Before my T68i, I had a 8310 and it could easily last 6 days!! But I'm happy with my battery!

Posted by Aivar
CoolKid - how old is your T68i / battery?

Posted by nomis_nehc
see, this is exactly what I don't understand... why don't everyone follow suit and use lithium polymer instead of lithium ion? cost... yes, but much more inticing to the customers when the phones can last for days instead of hours.

Posted by Erwin777
I've use diffirent battery, not an ericsson battery, and it last för about 15 days with heavy used of gprs and games, sms, etc. All i can say is SUPERB BATTERY

Posted by gearbox
@erwin
what brand of batt are you using??

Posted by Erwin777
Im using motorlite battery, \"tested na pang matagalan, kumbinsi\"

Posted by triggerbokie
@erwin, u usin d kingc0m batery?i heard it lasts longer than d orig SE batery.

Posted by ~~Xtreme1~~
i get on average 7-9 days of usage on my fone im lucky that my batt dies at night only, havent had it die on me ever. unlike my previous 3310, 15 mins on the fone and the batt is dead, what a crap fone huh. i just have one question though, whats the max u cna charge a batt 4? just want 2 know cos i leave my fone charging the whole night and dont want this 2 damage the batt.

Posted by Johnex
The phone is the best batery life of all the se phones after p800

Posted by vally
My T68I is alive only for 10-12 hours...but i still talking on it!
I'm a very heavy user, when i not talking, i wapping, play with erix, write a lot of SMz.

Posted by golfer
What was longest time that you were able to use wap continously on your t68i before needing a recharge? I did about 4 hrs. Is this normal or should I be getting more?
