Right, so I live at house number 42- at house 38 is a family who recently received a dog which barks a hell of a lot. We're talking a good half hour from 10pm last night, and the past half hour i've been home. Over the past few days an enclosure made out of trellis has been erected for the pooch, rather than being left to roam the garden as per usual. He seems friendly- wagging away whilst barking, an elderly neighbour lives at number 36 who is absolutely sick of the barking late at night and early in the morn- she has confided in my mother that she feels powerless over this selfish neighbour. The RSA where recently dispatched anonomously too which nothing has changed. She knocked on everyones door in a small vicinity enquiring had we rang the RSPCA to which we replied no. I have no idea what to do about it- it is a major nuisance to everyone but nobody wants to confront her, there's enough friction there already. The trip by the RSPCA seems to of done no good. What would you recommend as my next steps?

Only advice I have is to convince them to in to puppy-training with the dog.

Your local council can issue a warning of noise pollution. We had some Polish neighbours recently 4 doors away who had a bloody nightclub in their garden till all hours. My neighbour rang the council for the area(we are not in council property,you don't have to be)& not long afterwards some guy came out & put a notice through their door. It was a warning to stop the noise as it was disturbing others. Soon after they left.

They are extremely lazy- don't even pick its poo up. They must prefer looking at it.

Oh that's gross. They can be fined for that if it's outside on the road the dog poo

No its in their back garden! Unfortunately I can see it. May whip out the zoom lens and visit the RSPCA. I have contacted crimestoppers as I rather do anything via the web.

Well yeah take pics cos that too is down to the council environmental services cos it's a health hazard.

The enviroment agency will install a sound meter (for about 2 weeks) to see if it is really classed as "noise pollution". If it is something will have to be done.

You say they received it, by that I assume it's a grown dog and not a pup? If so, it's probably been a house dog and is scared as hell to be kept outside (especially in it's own mess). If it doesn't get exercise it'll also have far too much energy.
Could you offer to take it for walks to show the neighbour that you're trying to help? As usual it's the owner that is sf fault here not the poor dog, it really should be taken from these negligent neighbours and given to someone who'll care properly for it, ask Blue Cross for advice they might be able to help too.

I really don't have the time unfortunately.
Its quite large but I think it's a pup- if so it does not deserve to be outdoors by any means! He'll just grow to be an unpleasant un-friendly creature.
Contacted the council & animal welfare agency they are both coming to pay a vist hopefully. Although the feaces has been cleared up now, maybe they've overheard me?

Regards to the RSPCA as long as the dog's got water and looks fed they will do sod all! I reported a few years back a couple who had a rottie which lived outside with only a square piece of foam to lie on in all weathers and i mean all weathers!! they left the coalhouse door ajar for it to go in, that poor dog look so miserable so i phone the RSPCA who paid a visit, they said he was watered and well fed with a shelter to go in!! they could do nothing! made me fuming!! so i took the matter into my own hands!!
