I occasionally need to take shots of text (documents, book pages etc.). Please tell me how Elm fit for this purposes? Can I examine something at A3 paper shot performed with Elm?
I had SonyEricsson k810i, but now it breaked down and I'am trying to find substitute.

P.S. Sorry for my terrible English, it's not my native language and I have never been strong in linguistics

Posted by reeflotz
yes Elm can take pictures of text very well, it has autofocus. Just use document mode in the camera settings when taking shots of text, it makes the image brighter and has darker blacks.

Is it possible to see some photos made with the Hazel (or the Elm as well, but I'm interested in getting a Hazel) made with darkness and the flash on, but from a normal distance and not macro mode?
I've been looking all over the thread but all the pics made with flash are in macro mode, and I'd like to know how it performes in a normal situation (ie: night out with friends).
Thanks

@dbvolante, taken with Hazel all auto, about 4 feet away.

unfortunately, Hazel has a yellowish flash (don't know if they fixed this on the newer models) while Elm's flash is fine not yellowish. The led flash will only be good for closeups, if you go more than 4 feet away from the subject the picture gets dark. Sad to say both Elm/Hazel are not good at lowlight photos though

Thanks for your help.
Well I have to think about it, since I usually use to take photos at night.
Thanks again!

Hi everyone. I have found this topic and since I have Hazel myself (for a week or something now ), I decided to post some of my pics taken with it... though I don't know much about photography

Here they are... these few are taken with original driver:

My neighbours dog Don

A bumblebee, old one I think, lol

A 'regular' bee

Just a flower

Some droplets of water

More water

Water again

And here are some taken with plummy's modded driver. I didn't have much time to test it yet, but here are few anyway

Pringles

Some of my 'stash', lol, just a little bit of it

My desk, messy

My oldish car, yup, the green on... I know, it needs to get washed... someday

And some plastic 'needles'

That would be it. I have an offtopic question. My accelerometer isn't working. The chronometer doesnt change, no matter how much i move the phone, other motion wallpapers, same story. What is funny is that it does rotate the media menu, browser and such. But others isnt working Any ideas?

By chronometer do you mean the original chronometer that is preloaded on the phone? Mine does not rotate it only switches between landscape or portrait mode when you tilt the phone.

about the motion wallpapers it's most probably the flash version of the motion wallpapers click here for link. Aino and Yari had the same problem. I wanted to put motion wallpapers in my Hazel as well but I gave up when I found out that I have to replace some codes on the script to make it work on Hazel.

Now I feel so dumb, *blush*, I didnt even think of a possibility that it might be a different FL version I just thought that stuff that worked on my c510 will also work on hazel, since they both have accelerometer. Silly me. Thanks alot for clearing that out for me

Here's my old Elm with the shattered display! (And my new Hazel in the reflection!)

(You can also see where the paint had started to wear off of the keypad)

Yeah, mine too (paint), but I think it's just oxidized, maybe there is a way to clean it...

It's not oxidized, because you can see the keypad light shine through those worn off spots.

Actually no, I can't, it looks solid metal to me ...

Macro mode at night and my beautiful Pyaa

My Elm

Posted by solbailador
wassup evryone here ive got some new pics. bought a hd screen notebook so the resolution of Elm's video is not so good anymore but i can still be blown away by the (mostly outside) shoots.

does anyone know anything about any new camdriver which could fix the loss of real red colour when shooting inside or under poorer light conditions?

all the best

An old waterwheel
It used to power a saw and a mill. Now is only the saw is still working.
It was in use from the middle of the 19th century and in to the early 1950s!

Now only running for tourists and to saw timber for the repair and maintance of the saw/mill.

The waterwheel might look like it's not reaching down to the water, and it doesn't the mill was/is only working when there is plenty of water in the stream at springtime (melting snow) and in the autumn (rain season)

The pics where taken after a lovely moped ride in the Nordic summer evening

Posted by kcxvi
@reeflotz sarap ng mcdo eh!

I'm curious, do you guys use photofix on your photos? They sometimes look ok but most of the time the photos come out too strong.

Posted by reeflotz
kabayan! nope I never use photofix on my photos, most of the time I just set the white balance use all auto at ev+ 0.3 or 0.7 because sometimes the blacks on the picture are too deep. Elm/Hazel most of the time produces very sharp daylight photos, sometimes a little bit too sharp.

Posted by amnher
how to make those nice photos of elm? im using the latest one. Im able to use k850i effectively but not elm. especially flash shots are awful. they are dead. Are you using modded drivers?

Posted by reeflotz
most of the time I just set the white balance depending on the situation, then use auto settings for the rest. Elm/Hazel really isn't good with lowlight and the LED flash is only good for closeups, I'm using Hazel with original camdrive.

I noticed some red and blue lines on some flash shots. How do i avoid that?

Posted by reeflotz
That's the camera issue with Elm/Hazel when taking lowlight photos, the only solution we were able to find was to lower the ev to remove those lines but it makes the picture darker, modded drivers didn't help either
