Great shots Mode.Love the red flower with the buildings in the background.

@memo85
I've taken plenty indoor shots without focus problems. Maybe all you need is just some getting used to and practice

@Hobbes
I like the second photo. It was actually darker than it seems in the photo and X10 managed to capture it brighter with a wonderful balance of detail and noise suppression and capped it off with good saturation and colours. I mean, it's just a camera phone but I'm thoroughly impressed with its low light/evening shot ability I love everything about it, even the image stabilizer feature which is useful with faster shutter speed and maximised noise suppression. Not really great to view at full crop but it doesn't produce the classic watercolour effect. I'm lovin' it

That shot could have gone in for the low angle comp this month

I've been quite busy and have been pretty occupied to participate in the shootout over the past few months and thought I wouldn't be able to participate in this one too. But since it's already here and eligible (shot on 1st August, phewhh), I'd most certainly enter once I have the time. Thanks for the suggestion Bono

@HxH
Thanks Sold my W995 after getting my X10. I do miss its compact design, physical keys and single handed operation from time to time, it's still my best overall phone yet. But pretty sure Eclair's gonna change that.

On another note I think the camera definitely stands out of the crowd but SE had to make it stand in line again with a crappy, almost unusable photolight. Dunno why they keep sticking to the the industry standard when they are already poised to lead by giving us something extra like Xenon or if cost is the contraint, the same single LED flash as W995 would suffice.

I have to agreed Photolight is really poor performance expect something like Powered LED in W995 too, but don't forget this first Android from maybe they need more time to tweak about xenon in this OS and most of Android units available in market less one has flash for their camera.

That's what I'm waiting for XPERIA Android + Xenon = Throw my Satio away cuz it really crappy noise controlling except of this I'm please with camera's performance

I was of the same opinion until I got my X10. The photos are excellent except flash-less but I am pleased I changed over from the Satio. The X10 is so much better than the Satio that the slight download in MPix is not an issue imo. Hopefully $E will fix the light/flash in the firmware upgrade.

I do miss panoramic/stitching mode

Each of this photo below is made of from 3 to 8 photos using photoshop photomerge function. Some of photos original size is up to 21megapixel!

This HDR photo below is made of 3 different photos with different exposure values.

I must say, after having this phone for 6 months, I'm pretty underwhelmed by the camera. Yes it's 8mpx, but in my opinion the senor's too small. The C905 was the pinnacle of camera phone quality for me, sharper images, more light, better colours. Yes I gave it up for the x10, but seeing the iphone 4 camera samples I don't think the x10 is significantly better, yes the resolutions higher and the colours better but the camera could have been better.

Another annoying thing with the camera i've found is sometimes, probably due to 1.6, the camera interface is too slow and I can't get a quick autofocus and end up getting an out of focus shot. The interface often freezes and I can't then exit the camera app.

Welcome to Esato. Now with such effects at our disposal many have used them distastefuly without a good sensor to back it up, but that looks just excellent

Thanks mate. Well you need 2 things for shots like that:
1) Good camera sensor
2) Clean fish tank

@milanelo

Hey guyz, X10 cam in my opinion is bit over exposed, and lacks contrast, but still it is excellent camera phone, together with some post processing, and I am especcialy sattisfied with low light images. Pitch black is no go, but everything else is good.
Feel free to play around with EV for better quality, user image stabilisation on inside portates and low light landscapes, and choose proper modes, dont do everything auto

Posted by mode
Agreed, the camera seems a tad overexposed most of the time but nothing the EV can't fix in situ. I've never had to post-process my photos and I'm extremely pleased with the quality so far

Anyway, some shots from X10 which to me has the best camera sensor in the current SE phones' lineup

Evening pics

@milanelo
Glad you made that jump

Posted by milanelo
@mode - what settings did you use for the above shots? They look great.
[ This Message was edited by: milanelo on 2010-10-15 20:07 ]

Posted by mode
Well for daylight shots I usually use full auto but lower the EV 2-3 notches. But on a good sunny day I use daylight white balance in addition to the EV. As for the low light shots, I used night scene and again lowered the EV, but this is only when I feel my hands are steady. If not I would use beach and snow scene which has faster shutter speed but controls noise very well from my experience

I know this is cheating but I used the Vignette app, amazing result and looks very nice on my desktop.

I'm VERY curious about something - an aside to this thread however brief.

Since the debut of quality camera phones - started by with the K750/W800i ... and of all the quality camera phones thereafter (regardless of brand or manufacture), while considering the vast amount of users across the globe taking photos ...

is there ANYTHING or ANYPLACE in the habitable world that has NOT been photographed?!!!

Posted by moogoo
i'll tell you a place that has never been photographed... and i will never allow it to be photographed. haha! I'll give you a hint.. (_|_)

I'll post some pics soon.
