if this is an old topic pls excuse me, i just found out that globe telecom will carry a p800 european version so i guess its a finland or the other one and one can have it for as low as 15,500 php on 2nd postpaid line gmax. the catch u have to pay 3,500 php a month plus the rate of ur 1st line, bummer. but on low monthly rate its almost the same 39,000 with the lowest at 31,000 gmax for new subscriber...itl be out next month or next day since its already feb next week....i b ought mine at SE sm NE for 39k no regerets hir.

ic..
tanong ko lng,,
if nokia phones r made in finland and china, what about sony ericsson?
Posted by jplacson
P15K? I heard P28K eh... oh well... no regrets either on my openline P800.
SE phones are made in Sweden, France, & Malaysia (I'm not sure about the Sweden part...some guy in Esato claims Wintelcom P800s are made in Sweden...my P800 is made in France)

i am enrolled in the globe advantage plan (old plan) which i find more appealing than those so-called g plans... when i get the P800 this march i dont intend to switch to their usually crappy plans

@nookiehunter
same here, tol... mas ok pa rin talaga yung mga lumng plans nila...
fyi
my P8 is made in france... yung sa wintelcom daw or smartnet, cant really remember, sweden daw ang make... may nabasa rin akong post na yung sa globe raw e sweden rin...

good evening to all...i got my p800 at wintelecom & its made in france

P15,500 from Globe if you get G-Max, and a second line (any plan)...or for existing subscribers... getting a second G-Max line w/ the P800. That's less than US$300!!!!

guys, as i have toured around various globe telecom business centers and hub, i was informed by a marketing guy from globe (sm mla) that p800s are not currently available for new subscribers/family values/switching because they have reserved their p800 units for their platinum subscribers. is this a realiable fact? if it is is really sucks.

@reymun...
SE phones are not from finland. They're orginally from sweeden.
And 15,000 + (3,500 X 12) = 57,000!!! (Since you still have to pay for your old bill if I understand it right). Go buy it from Semicon na lang.

yes. total cash outlay within a one year period would be over 60k for this deal since you would still have to factor in the one-year charges for the first line (at least 4k for the old cheap advantage plan)
but for me really the worst thing is the fact that you would be paying all that money for a locked phone. so you wouldn't be able to use non-globe sims when travelling abroad.

i believe they call it d FAMILY VALUES promo thng 4 getng lower unit cost 4 ur second lyn, but if ur 1st lyn is from d old plans, ul realy hav to upgrade it into G-Plans to avail of it. thats wat they did to my advantage plan. got d g-mix na,its d most reasonble plan me now.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, Globe's Family Values Promo enables you to buy a locked P800 with a Globe Plan (in my case, I plan on getting the lowest which is G-Text) for P31,200 provided that you or any member of your family has an existing Globe Postpaid Line already??
That's a GOOD deal don't you think!!! Especially when you can only buy it in the market now for P39,000!!! That's almost P8,000 savings already. If the 1st line is really being used by another member of your family and you need a new phone with a new line then this plan simply beats out having to buy an open line phone.
Did I understand the promo correct? Whatcha guys think?

Well, that's fine... Although, some authorized dealers are selling it for P36K. You have to ask yourself if the locked unit is worth it since resale value of locked units drops a lot faster than openline units.
If you get a G-Max plan, Globe sells the P800 for P15,500. If you really use your mobile a lot every month, this deal is worth it.
If not, I'd suggest just getting an openline unit... my friend sold his P800 for P35K (he found it too complicated) and it was only 3 days old, openline from Semicon. Just weight your options well... locked or unlocked, it is a lot of money... think it over before buying.

i was at megamall the other day, napadaan ko sa semicon... i'm not quite sure, pero parang nakita ko na nasa 40k na ang price ng P800...?
Posted by senninha
40k is semicon's price if purchased on credit card.
BTW, regarding Globe promo, if you read the fine print, you will see that you need to maintain the Gmax plan for TWO years. So, that is P84,000 + 15,500 + subscription for 1st line for a SIM locked phone.
Good deal!!!

Manufacturers counterpart NOKIA > SEfinland is to sweden, germany is to france, china is to malaysia

if u need to buy one,my opinion is go with the openline,beleive me a few thousands of savings is not worth it especially if u travel a lot and a globe signal is almost absent in dat area.sim locking a phone should be removed,hey you bought it with ur money n not rented it.they should just offer very enticing plans to keep their customers loyal... just my 2cents.
Posted by antski
what if you can get the unit at a discounted price of 31,000 from globe without a plan? is it still worth it for a locked-phone?
Posted by senninha
i don't think they sell it without a plan
Posted by mjct6210
globe does not offer discounts for handset only. and good luck in finding an available p800 unit. i was dismayed by what the globe representative told me two weeks ago (when i was planning to buy a p800 under family values g-text for Php 31500). he told me that there is no available p800 units because they are reserving it to their platinum subscribers. what is happening to globe? when i heard this, i bought my open line unit at semicon. well, on the good side, an open line pda/phone empowers us, the users in having the liberty of choosing our network or even use both (globe and smart) and possibly even the new cellular company that will infiltrate the big boom business.
Posted by reymun
reserving it like they did on d 7650 before,but this time only for the platinum plan holders?this sucks,to tie you to their network is already a pain....go open line pips,we should rule!!!
Posted by mjct6210
@reymun
you're absolutely right. we subscribers should have the liberty to use any network we choose so the units must be open line. it's really silly and stupid to network lock a phone by these providers.
