its the stupidest thing i've ever seen. wats the point of having it(esp if u have an iphone)? movies? no, u have to convert them, no divx support. browsing? not really, its gt no flash support. gaming? kinda, iphone ones. it shud have had mac os, not the iphone os. its jus a big ass ipod touch
i'd rather wait for the hp slate. which will run windows 7! might not be as pretty, but you'll get more functionality. wat say ye?

As an e-reader I don't think I will be reading any books on that. E-ink is the way to go for reading anything more than some headlines. I wonder how the price will be here, most of the time its a 1:1 conversion. 499$ = 499 quid. Bastards.

No multitasking on a super (apparently) fast processor. I guess that's what OS 3.3 is for on iPad!? etc etc..
When will people learn, Apple leave stuff out so they can include it later and make more money from fools that buy the first ones etc etc...
You only need to look at the iPhone to see this...
2G - No 3G, No MMS, No Copy & Paste.
3G - No MMS (Until new OS) Like wise no Copy & Paste
3GS - All above but still only a basic cam, No HSDPA/LTE
4G - Will have LTE but lack other such features....
You don't put all your eggs in one basket, unlike Nokia, The iPod is still going strong and it's had more variations than I care to remember, but it's still an iPod, Nokia seem to have to reinvent the wheel every time, N95/N95 8gb/N97/N97 Mini etc etc

Did anyone just see it a few minutes ago on the news? I just did. It looks big. I know its more of a laptop type thing but the phone side i would not be seen with that stuck to my earholes. Perhaps the phones side you can sit with an earpiece plugged in but not held to my head

No multitasking?!?!? ... Please, I was hoping this was gonna be something great, but alas no... Just some fancy graphical UI stuff but nothing of real substance...
In meetings this morning we were joking about what was gonna be announced at 6pm GMT - shame it didnt live up to the hype...
The Engadget video is jokes... The amount of times the guy goes 'oh wow' just because is does some fancy graphical stuff like with photos or turning the page of an ebook... And when he asks about multi-tasking its a no and he moves right on without even challenging that decision by Apple...

nothing revolutionary. God the hype around Apple amuses me. And the fact their product announcements make the news, what a joke. Plenty of other companies announce new things, wheres their 15 mins of fame. Guess thats one of the reasons Apple products sell so well. Apart from their marketing.

Apple gets the headlines because their products revolutionise markets thats why.
iPod revolutionised Digital Content sales
iPhone revolutionised Mobile App sales

This is not targeted at the likes of computer/mobile enthusiasts but at an American consumer market looking for a simplified delivery device for online content that is not being effectively catered too already. Currently Apple get a share of revenue generated from music sales, movie sales, TV series sales, music video sales, now this will ramp up their share of revenue from eBook sales as well as revenue from newspaper and magazine content. I still won't be buying one. I bet Masseur does though, he's slap bang in the middle of the target market.

Why do people keep comparing the iPad with the iPhone? It is not a phone. GSMArena hit the right note by calling the iPad an iPod Touch on steroids.

If its meant to be JUST a eBook /Newspaper/ Magazine reader then WHY does it have to be so large? I cant imagine pulling that out in public just to read an eBook or Newspaper. Can you imagine a person living in New York getting into the already crammed subway trains with an extra bag for their iPad and then having to pull it out? Atleast you can fold an actual newspaper but this thing you cant,and with such a large display why not have multitasking and Flash in the web browser? It would be perfect. At this point it realy is a iPod Touch on steroids. It doesnt need to be so large if its just for eBooks and NewsPapers, these are things they couldve made big with the iPhone and iPod Touch ay announcing apps for them to buy and read eBooks and NewsPapers,i just dont see where this thing fits in. Should've been smaller/Less large IMO.

I would agree with this... It's just a bigger mixture of ipod and iphone... And about the documents, don't be sure...
