Sending email with VersaMail and T68i

I recently purchasased a T68i to pair with my Palm Tungsten handheld. I can download email from any of my providers with VersaMail via my T68i with no problem, but I cannot send email. I am able to connect to any destination mail server, but my email is always rejected. The error is always that the destination provider does not trust the IP address that AT&T wireless uses to transmit. When I call my email ISP, they point the finger at AT&T, and vice versa. Any ideas? I'm thinking that the solution is a proxy server with a "trusted" IP address.
