Posted by bambarah

Posted by HxH
I only hope they combined with nice transitive / good responsive / fluidity whatever working on it now

Posted by goldenface
I would like to see how they have improved A2 actually.

Posted by pavlov's_dog
looks exactly like the UI on the mini to me...

I think SE should shelf all other OS's and concentrate on android and segment it for all markets

Does someone know what SE's market share has come down to? I have heard something around 3.5% but do not want to belive it. I see Alcatel is 2.8%

Posted by rss_ndrsn
Does anyone know if SE has a tablet in the work? I am not really expecting one but the trend is starting to lean towards the tablet market due to the Ipad.

Posted by Legen
They do. With android 1.5 on it. Or maybe windows mobile 6.1. Or windows xp

That's the idea of UX, isn't it?

Posted by se_dude
OMG!! Thats frigging awesome. A non smartphone that looks like android. Take that. Raise your hands who think its a brilliant move.

Posted by rss_ndrsn
^I think it is useless. How will this OS survive in the coming years? There many powerful OS's to choose from nowadays like Android, Windows Mobile 7, Iphone OS etc. If it is the complexity to use an issue, these OS's becoming more and more easier to use without actually losing functionality. Also, they have great support from developers, thus, many application to choose from. This new dumb SE OS (if it is true) is just plain waste of time and effort. SE could just make some low end phone running Android. What SE should be focusing more is creating an ultra high-end device, with a nice UI layer.

I feel as long as they keep the A? platform on mid end phones then it has a long life ahead. A lot of people still need those kinds of phones.

SE just needs to keep the three smartphone OSs high end and ultra high end then they'll manage.

Posted by io_bg
Well, I think that they should make more mid-end smartphones, not only high-end, because I don't think that everyone needs a 4" screen and a 1GHz CPU. By mid-end smartphones I mean the android-vivaz that we all (including me) expected to see.

Posted by Dups!
True, they will not be able to run away from money making mid end smartphones like the Vivaz and the X10 minis. The point is that the A? platform has a role to play by supplementing the mid end smartphones.

Posted by bambarah
Believe me, a totaly newer more powerful JAVA platform

but for sure it would be called , it will feautre many options and put an ordinary phone in last decade smartphones field

Posted by bambarah
I also want to draw attention for the phonebook !

I had P990i for around 3 years and I was so much satiesfied with it

except few points , on of them the size
So I got my VIVAZ around a week ago , every thing is great except the phone book !
it became smaller in view !
the screen size is bigger and so is the resoultion rather than the old P990i

I'm trying to find an application to help
not mentioning also the contact pic , so small !

must think of a serious upgrade for its VIVAZ or the next Symbian

Posted by se_dude
@rss- If people want a smartphone of the same size, they shall go for the Mini.A no brainer.

Random question while popping in for a couple of minutes, but does anyone know this? Besides the Satio successor will SE be bringing out any other symbian, preferably qwerty as well? I'm asking cause Symbian has caught my eye with a couple of uses and it would suit me a lot for a Symbian with qwerty made by SE, besides the Vivaz Pro.

When let Symbian as long it is accumilating customers and loyal users - like me -and for sure they will expand the series , or why would they made Aspen ? Is it because the weak demand on WM ?

They might make it late , but they well

True. But If Android can be tailored to work as simple as it is on the X10 Mini's, what is the point of another touch operated dumb OS? SE can make any phone from low-end to high-end using Android. There is no need for a dumb OS.

Android and other platforms can cater for the mid-end market. The A? platform is useless unless it would be as good as the Bada by Samsung.

Satio2 Pro

Posted by volvoman
Is it not about time SE forgot about Symbian, with the X10 X10 mini and pro, they have some great phones, that work fast, have any amount of apps available, glourious OS unlike the symbian system, that seems to lag soo much, yes there are apps available, but most are to buy, and those that are free are either cut down lite versions, or useless. SE have tried hard to add to the basic system, but the problem is the OS its self, which is not always user freindly. Things are not always in a logical place, or you are unable to access what you want.

With Android Bada Iphone and even windows, Symbian is outdated, and should be dropped by SE.

To see the Satio with Android on it would be something I would buy. Same features but with an OS that does it favours rather than hurts it.

Funny how all Symbian phones I have used have GPS issues, yet Android has none, infact my X10 locks on very quick in even the worst conditions, yet the Satio N97 N95 all have to be outside and even then take an age to find a lock.

Come on SE dump the Symbian OS and do everyone with a vivaz and satio a favour, and create away for them to upgrade to Android.

Posted by rss_ndrsn
Is it confirmed that Satio2 will be Symbian-operated? No, no way! I will not buy Satio2 if it is true.

?!?!?!?!?!

5" display

Posted by blizaga
^ Isn't 5 inch screen on a phone is too much?

Posted by io_bg
It's way too much Imagine what battery it'll need... Probably 2000 mAh

Posted by >500
update from Engadget:
"Update: We've received word from a second highly-trusted source who says that the display is 5.5 inches (too big to fit in the front pocket), and runs a clean Android 2.1 install. Oh, and it's launching in the fall." (Fall = Sep-Dec)

if all is true, its obviously not a phone. well obviousy it will have phone capabilities.... but you get my point! More or less a 'UMPC' sort of device by the sounds of it

A lot of Tablets shown at Computex in the last few days were running 2.1... And they wont be released until later this year either.

edit: could it be the /Sony colab device? Vaio
the collaboration surely has to be either a Playstation or Vaio branded device

I can't believe how people are pissed over no 2.2 here when most Android phones still don't have 2.1, and not just SE phones. Hardly any phones have 2.2 yet! And lets face it, 2.1 is still pretty sweet.

This thing looks badass in my opinion, just not too keen on the size! Keen to know more.

Posted by blizaga
But some phones of 2010 will be upgradable to 2.2, yet SE is still on 2.1 or will still be in 2.1 maybe until early next year. I only hope their android 2.1 ~customized ver.~ will support flash. Do you think this rumored phone will be in the june announcement?

I agree.

I'm wondering if this is the product of the collaboration with Sony we were talking about a few weeks ago on here.

Who ever leaked this is a bad bad bad person.

Yeah and clean android install too... That should make it easier to upgrade it anyway shouldn't it. So even if no 2.2 was a huge problem, I hardly think it would be a problem for long.

Posted by jjjajjj
I smell Snapdragon MSM8660 ( 1.2GHz dual-core ) from that thing

Posted by goldenface
If this is supposed to make an appearance in Q3 there is a small chance it could be announced this month.

Posted by XPHCTOC
It's clearly a MID not a smartphone. I see it as a competitor to the Sharp IS01 (running donut). I would love to have a such toy

Posted by MNX1024
Yep, that thing is definitely going to be my new toy if it fulfills all my requirement(at least 90%).

The only thing I would be worried about is how would I attach this to my bicycle and use it in class

So, yea, anyone care to give us some insight on specs?

Posted by XPHCTOC
on the left side I can see a camera lens (the front camera for videochating I presume)

Posted by pavlov's_dog
is that a slide out keyboard or is it a mini netbook?

Gsmarena guys are bad readers... the source is only saying: "according to visual, screen size of 5 inches. Almost equal to X10's body size." The screen is almost equal to X10's body size.

Posted by rss_ndrsn
I find that device ugly and too big. I think the rumoured Nokia E77 looks much better (it's like N8 with keyboard). But then again, it is just a prototype. I hope the final version look better.

I do not know if you remember that someone has mentioned in Esato about the two high-end Android phones, both with 12 megapixel camera, and, one with physical qwerty keyboard and without, which might have been canceled. Could that SE tablet phone that just surfaced on the net while ago be one of the high end SE Android phones?

You can call this kind of device mid, umpc or smartbook but NOT tablet or phone.
