@mizz- Why? Any problems? Is it scheduled for later or scrapped for the year?

Posted by Maximys
Announcement was cancelled, but it's doesn't means that products are cancelled.

Posted by Legen
Shame.

Because they aren't interesting enough?

Posted by se_dude
@driftmania- try thinking before you type. that was funny.

Posted by clauf
Wow... I've missed out on a lot I see...

Posted by Legen
Nah. Not really. You havn't missed much. Unless that was sarcasm...?

Posted by se_love
Nah nothing new except some codnames and cancellations of phones. And Clauf hasn't been around for a while, like since October so he did miss out on quite a few then.

New code name but I'll let someone else leak. Last week, this Italian 'phone' was on the losing side against a German team; actually they were properly stuffed. As a fan, I was humiliated because he used to be a very special player. The phone itself if I am correct, should be very good indeed.

i came across this site
http://www.blog.best-mobile-c[....]-carry-sony-ericssons-x10.html

Which says that sony has said x2 will be their last windows mobile phone. I dont think the site is quite trustable.

Also x2 is released in middle east too according to se site(and i have seen one in a shop in orlando for 800 something $)

any 12mp phone in 2010?....

Posted by domipost
Shure! Pobably a Satio successor with 12MP and optical zoom and I think there will be some more.

Posted by makebelieve
and HD/Full HD video recording...

Posted by Dups!
Well, I suppose if Kurara, though touchscreen only, has HD recording then the next 12mp phone should have that.

That's my assumption of course but when it comes to SE you never know. They may just do something opposite.

Posted by se_dude
SE at present are pretty much at par with current recording standards.Quite a few phones for MWC.
roper announcements in MWC and just before the world cup.

Posted by goldenface
MWC is gonna be good.

What are roper announcements btw? I'll have the popcorn ready that night.

Posted by se_dude
Shit!!Typo. Proper announcements.
Its good in a way. Keep to minimal products and keep updating them regularly to meet the ones provided by ther manufacturers.

Posted by bronxdude
sill nothing new?

I hope SE will release the long awaited A3 phones, imagine the very practical SE OS but with upgraded specs like 640x800 resolution screen, restyled apps like Accuweather and Tracker, widgets...
I have a Satio and I which it was a SE OS instead of the stup*d nokia OS

an A300 future is looking weak, seeing how with Hazel and Elm they're using updated graphics for A200....AGAIN.

I can't wait to see where SE takes their feature phone platform.

I'm sure there won't be any weird resolutions like 640x800 though.

Been using the X2 for a week and its all good stuff. I have given the pretty much retail model back and put the X2 ROM onto my X1 (you have got to love the guys at XDA-developers) and they are almost* identical. Looks like a bargain to me, the X1 that is.

Anyhow, some people have said that there are no WinMo phones but this is not true. There should be something that will run WinMo 7 from the box i.e. it should come this sort of time next year. It is a big deal to them, even if they only do one phone it is still important for their portfolio. Its obvious that Android (and the new 'A3') will take more resources but you should expect a WinMo 7 phone. Also, WinMo 7 will allow for multi touch but I would imagine that it will work on resistive screens as well. We should wait for the requirements, it could be that the X2 can run it as well, not just the HTC HD2. HTC have a number of resistive screen models for release later in the year so it would be naughty of Microsoft to restrict their OS to capacitive screens only.

We know that Kurara is on Symbian but Aino is A2 with limited touch. A2 with full touch is not too tough for to do in which case, 'A3' could have full touch capabilities. If such phones came out, I would imagine that they would be 'dumb' and sit below Symbian but A2 is already very capable and many prefer this to a smart phone anyway. A3 should be in development, A3 touch is something that has been thought of but I cannot say if it will see the light of day.

Xperia should feature at MWC, maybe some leaks before then. Expect both Symbian and Android at the show, qwerty devices also. As far as I know, there should be some phones there that haven't even had their codename leaked yet.

As well as HTC, watch out for Samsung with Bada (very nice indeed) and their Android phones. More from Nokia and Maemo as well. I guess this years flavour is OS, most have got Android in their line up so OS will be important to boost cheaper phones.

Haven't the WinMo 7 hardware requirements already been published (ex. CPU => Snapdragon/Tegra 1/2/TI OMAP 34X0) aka something more powerful than the MSM 7200A thats in the X2?

Thanks, badassmam for the wonderfully informative post, especially regarding the X2 -> X1 rom transfer that indeed adds value to the X1 making it a really good buy these days

Off to the shop!

Cheers!

@Badassmam

Did you already tested the SE Hazel out?

Thanks & Peace

Posted by se_love
So basically this A3 will happen and while people will love it, SE will only use it sparingly? Well I guess I can say that I'm not too upset cause A3 is a high point but....qwerty devices are coming in? Good I like that, don't let the touchscreens invade. And phones without codnames even? Wow that sounds hot, looks like leaks are sparce now.

@badassmam

Great that X2 is great!
And great to hear the WM plans. That is awesome!

Posted by Dups!
@doministry

You sure love your windows mobile! I have to say that I find the X2 really appealing in terms of design. If it is smooth in operation then kudos to SE.

Sadly, I have decided not to buy any SE phone until I see a good or acceptable financial statement for the second quarter of next year.

I don't want to buy something from a company that's going to die (I'm not implying that they are going to die next year) and be left with the same situation as was the case with Ericsson.

If they improve then that P1-like Android phone is mine.

Good luck SE, still my favourite phone brand despite your problems. Even though you irritate me often I still hold a place for you in my heart.

So, here's hoping and wishing for sustainable improvement in your Q2, 2010 results.

Otherwise I'll still be here at Esato always.

No, what they say is this: First look at Kurara/U5
And what further members are quoting or whatever... is crap from Crapgadget.
Coincidentally, Cellpassion had previously dug up a user agent profile for a U5i, calling out a 640 x 360 display, 2 megapixel cam (what?), and Symbian -- so if those numbers pan out, we might not be looking at a "Satio killer," so to speak.

What Cellpassion dug up is this: http://www.cellpassion.com/ne[....]ping-u5i--a-symbian-phone.aspx

We all know there's not the actual camera resolution included in these profiles but the maximum that is handled by the MMS messaging application.

Big smoke, no fire.

The only problem is that I can't find any other device which will match.
There's such fashion now to get rid of keyboards and hardware controls and to apply capactive screens,

that my choice is SO limited.

I'd never trust Samsung or LG neither...

I don't think SE will die haha..... However who knows.
But yes - WindowsMobile all the way now.. For now the best platform.
Even if WM 6.1 and even 6.5 looks old and uninteresting today,
there are some ugly boring parts of UI....

But the functionality which is given is the best.
