Wow Im really suprised with the battery life on the CM7.0.3 Gingerbread Rom.Ive drilled the phone today and after 11hrs of use its still sitting on 60%.I followed someones advice who said after you install the Rom charge it via the wall socket to a 100%,reboot into xRecovery and wipe the battery stats.Has worked wonders

First off, I may have already asked this question, and it haven't been solved yet...

I'm seriously in need of a good email app for my Xperia x10. One that have sync access to all my email, Hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc. I can read my email, delete, on my phone that will also sync with my emails, so when I log on via computer, it will actually been "read", or "delete" already, w/out me having to do it again.
I think it's called POP3, and I don't like it.
I can do it with my ipod touch, but only via wi-fi, with it's built-in mail app, why not xperia? I'm getting mobile internet on my xperia soon, and want to be able to check emails on the go without wi-fi.

also, what is a good notes app, where I can save messages, not phone messages, although that would be nice to. I want to be able to write/type notes for reminder, then when sync to my phone, I can access it, via memory card, etc.

K9 mail

thank you, I'll try that.

On another note, anyone knows how to enter overiew mode on the phone? it gotta be something with 2 finger touch, but I just can't get it rite.

lets hope the 2.3 update fix the battery draining

@Big_D overview mode? Explain what you mean exactly.

Posted by moogoo
i think he means the feature on the arc where you can see all the apps or home screens at once and then you pick which you want.

You have to have the Arc launcer running. Pinch the screen to get a collected view of all widgets running on home screens.

Posted by Ricky D
@moogoo @Big_D

In that case it's not out for X10 yet. On arc it's a pinch motion on the homescreen to see the widgets from all the home screens (as rightly pointed put above).

With something like ADW you can have the HTC sense effect of pinch to see all available homescreens and you can have that on X10.

After the X10 gets the official 2.3.3 update I expect the pinch for widgets will be present natively.

Posted by Ravager
It does work on the X10, get the Arc launcher and pinch on any of the home screens.

Posted by Ricky D
What I meant was it isn't natively included with X10, the arc launcher port I'd consider a bit of a hack.

just a quick question.. is PowerAMP off the market for anyone else? i can't find it on the market....

Posted by Rookwise
Just checked and its still there for me

Posted by Hobbs
Type in search Poweramp Trial. It then shows.

Posted by moogoo
strange... it used to be on the market for me, but now i simply can't find it. i tried various different terms to search for it, but nothing.

guess i'll try going to the developer website

Posted by mode
Poweramp is first in the list of top paid apps under All Apps, you can't miss it

Posted by moogoo
trust me, i've looked. i think my market is being screwy. i couldn't update my apps at all. Kept getting "Download Unsuccessful" errors. So, I went and cleared the cache. Tried again, same thing. Went and cleared the cache and uninstalled updates. Now, it lost record of half of the apps I had installed and thought they weren't installed yet. Still, no Poweramp in the search results.

Not sure what it is. Maybe it's a regional thing, but I swear I saw it the last time I looked.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Having the same issue with Firefox, from what i remember it was in Market, but i cant find it anymore, something must have gone wrong when Google added more countries to have paid apps.

Posted by Ricky D
@moogoo what does market.android.com tell you when you try to send it to your phone?

Posted by 20545ZR16
started up my laptop today and an message popped up telling me that i have to update pc companion, hope the update is real soon .
strange thing happened, the installation asked me about my location and SE needed it in order to proceed,
anyone noticed it?

Posted by Platia1
Yeah I had the same thing

And yes, I'm very hopeful the update will launch soon as well.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Read in some topic at XDA that 2.3 may begin rolling-out on the 20th, dont take my word for it though, it was what i read whilest lerking around some 2.3 thread.

Posted by moogoo
@RickyD i totally forgot about the web version of the market. i did a search and the poweramp page says it is incompatible with my phone. what the freak is that? I hope this isn't some bullshit AT&T mod to the network that's making this all happen.... i'll be pissed.

I just downloaded the apk from an app forum for now...thanks for the help.

Flashed my phone back to stock 2.1 and keenly awaiting some Gingerbread

Posted by emzee_ali
Hey Guys!!!

Its been almost a week since i got my hands on my White X10. The phone is very good, UI is fast and smooth with minimal LAGS and no restarts. Have faced only one issue. My EDGE Data signal dropped completely for a couple of times. I mean the E symbol with up and down arrows in the notification bar disappears and there is no EDGE data connectivity anywhere across apps and browser. I was able to fix this issue only after the phone restart. Anybody else has similar issues?

And secondly can anybody recommend a good GPS app with offline maps for India preferably free.Or is there any was i can download the google maps to my phone and use them for GPS navigation?

Thanks.

Must say, i'm tempted to the same...actualy ive been flipping between for some weeks now, i load the SE 2.1 ROM and absolutely enjoy good batt life, then flip back to Wolfbreak's 2.2 and enjoy the speed, Flash10.3 etc... and it goes on and on almost every week lol.

Posted by Hobbs
@Tsepz You want crazy battery life.Try the Gingerbread CM7.0.3 After 14 hours of use I still had 50% battery life left.Couldnt believe my eyes. Gonna stay on the stock 2.1 until they release Gingerbread.Im all set to go.

I got a question about Wisepilot, Sony Ericsson Navigation software.

anyone ever use it? Ever since I had my phone I never used it, and now it's over the free trial. I recently checked it out and it offered some maps for purchase and download. Does this means it would work without internet services? I really would like a GPS Navigation software on my phone that doesn't require Mobile internet.

Posted by Hobbs
Stock 2.1 is killing me.Been a bit spoilt with custom ROMS.Hope this Gingerbread is zippy or it looks like its back to XDA for me.

Posted by Hobbs
5 and a half hours and my battery is down to 66%.WTF! Don't remember it ever been this bad.

Come on SE. Give us the GB. DON'T even dare do a HTC on us like they did with the Desire.

Posted by Tsepz_GP

Anyone here knows a good GPS Navigation apps for Xperia x10 that works offline, no need for internet?
also, does Xperia x10 support 4G?
[ This Message was edited by: Big_D on 2011-06-16 01:06 ]

Locus Pro and CoPilot Live both offer Offline navigation ,you'll find both in Android Market.

Nope, none of the X10 variants do 4G.

Anybody know how to fix this Issue without restarting the phone?

Thanks.

I'd suggest either putting your phone in Flight Mode for a few seconds then take it off Flight Mode again, or download new network settings in Settings -Sony Ericsson -Settings download as maybe they are wrong, it will take off the EDGE connection for a few seconds when doing that and then come back.

Thanks for the suggestions Tsepz_GP. I'll try them both the next time my EDGE signal goes off and see which one works. Thanks again.

I just got out of work and was on my way home. I thought of trying out the Navigation app (the blue arrow) on my Xperia x10. I have no Mobile internet service with my network. I turned on my GPS, and it actually was able to track me. There were an accurate overheard (satellite image) of where I'm at and the direction I'm going. Unfortunately there is no street names, area names, or even search/destination options, assuming it took wayyy to long to load, i'm guessing it doesn't have it.
So now that I know GPS works with the Navigation, but not any maps, because it uses Google Maps for that, and Google Maps needs internet connections (mobile internet network). Is there a way to download and save (Google) maps into phone/sd and use with with Navigation app offline?

Posted by moogoo
big D, currently there is no way. google is planning to offer google maps with offline capability. it's coming soon i'd say as the last update included some new caching stuff. give it time

Wait! There is a modified Google maps app that allows caching maps and the Navigation works almost everywhere in the world,

Well the modified one is said to be able to use stored maps

From benchmark scores of 1500+ on my custom CM7.0.3 Gingerbread rom to benchmark scores of 530 on the SE stock 2.1. Hate it hate it hate it.Hope this stock Gingerbread is nothing like the stock 2.1. speed-wise.I don't think I could stand it for very long.

I have Google mail, Hotmail and Yahoo mail account. I need a notes app that I can type notes, then save it via sync. Any idea?

Posted by Ricky D
@Big_D I use Evernote for not taking. has a widget to take photo, sound bite or text notes, syncs to a cloud network, available on PC and it's free. I also use google docs but that's only if I intend on sharing the information with my colleagues.

Posted by Big_D
thanks to Ricky D. I'll check those out.

Also, I'm looking to upgrade my battery, and also to keep the old one to switch. Is there any deals on battery and external battery charger?

Once you get a taste of the CM7.0.3 Gingerbread ROM from XDA there is actually no way you can use the stock SE 2.1.Was showing my phone to a family member today and I was so embaressed with the speed of the 2.1 ROM.I don't mean to sound negative but the 2.1 SE stock is SHIT! When I got home wiped the phone and, reinstalled the Gingerbread ROM.What has SE done to this X10 that its so crap compared to a custom ROM? These Gingerbread custom ROM's fly.Even the froyo ROM's are quite nippy. Can they make their Gingerbread stock fly? That is soon to be answered. I truly hope they can but with the help of XDA it shouldn't be that big of an issue.I'm sure once the stock Gingerbread arrives, these custom Gingerbread ROM's will gain full functionality.Hope this all happens before the end of the month.Great phone this X10.Still enjoying it.
