How did you managed to do that? Jeez!

Posted by Bonovox
No idea have not dropped it I take good care of it. And its nothing to do with me removing screen protector. The x10 screen looks well sealed to me. I never did anything except I noticed it when I took it out of my jacket inside pocket. Well pissed off

Posted by Hobbs
That is very unfortunate Bono. What can you do to resolve that irritation. It would bug the s#it out of me.Things like that I cant stand.Stratches is another thing.

Ah well, off to another phone eh?

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Dam, that's the 1st i read of dust under the screen on an X10, and ive dropped mine quite a few times. I remember when my W900 had dust under its screen, took it in for cleaning and repair, it came back with fingerprints and a few months later had dust again, your phone never realy is the same after repairs.

Posted by goldenface
Really strange. Never heard of dust underneath a touch screen before.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Samsung Jet had that issue, i often saw people complain about it having dust under its screen, that's the only touch phone i know of with that issue though.

Posted by Bonovox
Nokia X6 had that issue too. Anyway guys panic over Last night I had a good clean of the screen & I suddenly noticed the white specs gone. They looked like before they were underneath the screen but they were actually stubbonly stuck to the surface & hard to remove. I have gleamed it up nicely now Relieved I am I did also have a spec of white dust underneath my x10 Mini screen whilst on holiday last year. But panic over now

Posted by tranced
This upsets everybody. You maybe have the phone not well tight. Check if the phone is somehow loose.

Posted by Bonovox
No all seems ok but I panicked cos its happened to me before. I also remember on some forums reading that early versions of the HTC Desire had a dust issue. @Goldenface just cos its not happened to you does not mean it.don't happen. A touch screen can get dust inside depending on how well its sealed. Some screens have a gap inbetween the screen some don't. I did have dust under the Mini screen and the Samsung Jet it does and has happened.

anybody in north america market get the pinch/zoom update yet? i haven't gotten any incremental updates since the big 2.1 update either.

just wondering if i'm the only one...

great news if it's true...

Okay take this with a huge pinch of salt, but Brazilian consumer complaint site Reclame Aqui, has seen Sony Ericsson Brazil respond to one person’s complaints on the Xperia X10 with a startling revelation. The official response to the person’s complaints on the lack of updates goes on to say that whilst Android 2.2 (Froyo) will not be released, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) will instead release in October 2011.

Whilst we would like to believe in any glimmer of hope, we were told in no uncertain terms that there would not be any more updates to the Android firmware for the Xperia X10 family, Android 2.1 was as good as it got (at least officially). We have also seen satellite offices make contradictory statements in the past that are retracted shortly after. Unfortunately I suspect this will be one of these occasions. We’d love to be proven wrong though…

@moogoo try this for flashing X10a FW 2.1.A.0.435 (newest FW I believe). Just read the instructions and backup your stuff before doing anything.

Really? does X10 hardware support Gingerbread?

Posted by mr tripe
@Indiandawg
LG P500 will get 2.3... the hardware of x10 is superior...

P500
600 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset

x10
1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset

X10 hardware can run gingerbread and it runs fast. I've run a custom gingerbread ROM on my phone for a few days in the last week and it is very fast. It ran flash in the browser and everything but was a bit buggy, being a custom ROM in beta. Hopefully a couple more weeks and it'll be ready to use full time.

2.1.A.0.435 for X10i global generic is now available thro' SEUS

for CDA 1232-9897 ie;X10i with global generic prod code

Posted by kannanx10
also now available for nordic also........i mean 2.1.A.0.435 update

check it out

Posted by Ricky D
I'm going to stay away from the 2.1.A.435 update I think. I have pinchzoom already ported from the JP kernel and I'm well optimised pulling 33k+ on linpack in 2.1. Unless the update is massively optimised and has flash I'm out.

Posted by Miss UK
The X6 is well known for dust issues,
I took my first one back cos of that

anyway enuff of silly issues, whens this new update coming to the UK?

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Just updated my Nordic region X10 to 2.1.A.0.435 ,update was 163mb. The phone took forever to boot up and then was realy sluggish for around 15mins and then now it suddenly became fast and fluid. Scrolling through the App drawer is much smoother than before. Your X10 now sends anonymous bug reports to SE with useage statistics,it can be turned off in Settings -Sony Ericsson -Useage Info.
Mediascape has got a bit of a facelift and is more responsive. You can now customize what the front page of Mediascape displays, and there is now Library and Player shortcut keys on the top right.
Pinch-to-zoom works fine. I dig the one finger zoom in Mediascape though, prefer it over this whole Pinch-to-zoom gimmick.

Posted by Miss UK
Hmm no fair we want it over here in the UK
I mustn't grumble really

Posted by RockHell
I really do fancy the update now in the UK after your description Tsepz

Posted by Bonovox
Think I can live without pinch zooming for a while yet

Posted by goldenface
@Tsepz_GP

Was your X10 debranded?

lol Count me in II

I know it's something we can live without but if have
said that its there for us then I bleedin' want it aye Golden, Rock agree?

Posted by goldenface
Well it's not a minor update as there are some physical improvements, not just optimising the software and all that palaver.

How many updates is that now we've had for the X10? Two or three when it was running Donut, then the upgrade to Eclair followed by another two and this.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Lol, should be available for UK in the next few days.

Goldenface
Yep, i debranded to Nordic when the 2.1 update was released.

Same here. Really strange as I'm on UK Generic and some with the same cda have gotten it

Posted by goldenface
@Tsepz_GP

Did you debrand by changing the cda? I'm absolutely bloody terrified it will rebrand my phone back to Orange. It was a feat getting it debranded in the first place.

@goldenface have you got a white x10 like me?? I got mine brand new unbranded with 2.1 installed from Amazon in white.

Posted by goldenface
@Bono

Yeah, the white version.

I bought mine branded to Orange. I tried twice using one of the more ''famous debranders and it failed both times, total waste of money.

Then I changed the CDA and it worked great.

I still think it's one of the most beautiful things I own, and I own a Bengal Kitten

I only seen white one on high street in Phones4U on Orange. I got mine from Forever_5 via Amazon for £334. I was anxious that it would be unlocked but branded from Orange to my delight it turned up totally new unbranded with 2.1. I was shocked cos it came from a warehouse in Bradford. I would not have any idea how to change CDA I only know how to update & debrand

Pinch-to-zoom working well in the Web browser, Maps, Android Gallery, Firefox and dual-touch works fine in Raging Thunder 2, so far so good.
It's possible to do Video Editing in Mediascape, but it seems to only be for cutting/copying a certain part of the video, nothing else, will try see if i can do more, but it seems that's all.

Posted by Bonovox
I thought pinch zoom did not work in gallery??

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Goldenface
Nope, i flashed it with Nordic FW then updated to 2.1

Bono
It doesnt work in the Mediascape Gallery as that now has one finger zoom which IMO is better, pinch-to-zoom works in the Android Galley though.

Can anyone tell me how to change the cda to uk version. I want to change it on my white x10 which currently has French firmware. Tried davinci etc but it just bricks the phone. Strange as davinciworked fine on my black x10

Posted by mange69
PC Companion tells me that I have an update, but when I try to install it becomes corruped. An error box turns up on my PC telling me that the installation can't be done or the components that are needed can't be started.

Posted by Bonovox
Don't cry it'll fix itself

There is a thread on XDA which tells you how to do it. I'll try and root it out for you.

how to change your CDA

Posted by AndyD777
I am on the nordic firmware now. It seems a huge improvement over the past firmwares! Looks like are starting to improve!

Posted by SKIBBE
Andy: flashed back to 2.1 already?

Posted by Rookwise
Thanks. So it looks like I gotta Root the phone first. Never done that so will have to wait until I got a bit more time to do it all

Yup. I gave up with dire battery life, I was struggling to get 12 hours from the phone. Using the SE firmware, I can easily get over a day.

Posted by SKIBBE

I used Omnius, for such a low price. Quite straightforward and didn't have a problem at all debranding my X10

Posted by Luhccas-U1a
why don't y'all try the FlashTool?
It's so simple (more than davinci, wotan, omnius etc)

+1! This update rocks! Almost makes up for 's lack of offering 2.2. I'm happy now!

To anyone with the 2.1.A.0.435 FW, Is the camera any faster?
