I don't seem to get the menu after press the back button 3 times after restart........how?

Try pressing it more times, just press it rapidly when You see "Sony Ericsson" till the menus shows up

Same thing happened to me first time round. It is BusyBox related. When you install xRecovery does Green ticks appear next to all 3 things on the list?
If it doesnt and Red circles with a line through them appears next to those three items its means you need to install a different BusyBox.
I just went into Busybox and changed the BusyBox that I got from the Market with the the 2nd choice version it offers (1.18 git unofficial)
Went into xRecovery to install and Green ticks appeared next to all three things on the list.
Worked after doing that when I switched on the phone.

Hoping someone can help. When using the regular X10 keyboard, there's an option that allows you to quickly change it from QWERTY to a 9 digit T9 dialpad simply by flicking the keyboard to the side. The other keyboard then appears in it's place and allows you to type the old T9 way. Somehow I've turned off this feature. Anyone know where I go to turn it back on? Thanks!

I don't have the android keyboard but all keybords are found in "Settings>language and keybords" here you will find your android keybord, enter settings and find the option for portrait mode in there and you will be able to change back to numerickeybord.

caff111 Glad you got it working

Posted by Miss UK
Just bought one of these,
its just till last me till August when i can get another BETTER BIGGER HTC

so whats the scoop on the X10?

Posted by tranced
Congrats Miss UK. The X10 is not the big deal lately. We're seeing forward the Arc. Just 2.1 for you and you can pick a custom rom running 2.2. They're in beta AFAIK.

Posted by Miss UK
Yeah im gunna have that done to it i think when it comes Friday,

I will Miss my HTC but imlooking forward to having a better display and maybe
something that will play Angry Birds?

it doesn't wanna work on my Wildfire

Posted by Hobbs
Miss UK The scoop is you shouldnt have got one
As you can see we are all bitterly disappointed with the news that we will not be getting Froyo on our X10's.
Dont dispair though, its still a fine phone and like Tranced said they are still working hard at getting Froyo on the X10 at XDA.
And you only have the phone for a couple of months anyway so its not a trainsmash.
Enjoy your X10.
Im still enjoying mine regardless of the bad news.
Installed JIT for performance boost and keeping a beady eye on XDA.

Posted by Miss UK
lol well since you say that jailbreak indeed...

tbh though 2.2.1 is pretty pants update it changes a few things here and there
but I hate how the market changes maybe I should just leave it?

whats the scoop on the the calls>speaker? Bono said its very quiet?

Posted by Hobbs
MissUK I wouldn't bother with the Beta Froyo they have available to test at
XDA for the X10.I wouldn't touch it at this stage.

Posted by Miss UK
OK
btw this phone is to only last me til Aug till I get my upgrade from my network

Posted by Hobbs
MissUK Call>Speaker is fine for me.Never had any complaints. It could be better.

Posted by Miss UK
I personally don't do many calls so those that i do make well Im hoping I can make out
what the persons saying

I did have a similar issue with a Samsung phone yrs ago,
it sounded mental on that though

I did want the white X10 but it was going up the roof on eBay,
but imok with the black one I got a bargain if i say so myself BNIB £180 delivered

right be back later or tomorrow...

Dinners done

Posted by Bonovox
You need to read back on here & some other forums so many people complain about the call volume. I think it's awful & there is a static noise too in the speaker. I remember speaking to my dad a few times using the x10 & I could not hear him at full volume

Posted by Hobbs
Ive got a second upgrade coming up in March but Im going to terminate it and just keep my X10 contract. So Im in it for the long run.May 2012.

Thats one of the things I hated about the X10

Posted by Bonovox
Yes & the terrible lag even after 2.1 update

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
Lol I switched on my X10 I just couldn't unlock the screen and yes the lag . Loving how fluid and quick navigation is on the HTC Desire HD screen is

Posted by Bonovox

They didn't learn years ago and to be kept waiting for so long for an update is beyond a joke. Nice Bravia and Ex-mor gimmicks but how good will it actually be. Always a disappointment with SE these days and SE have drastically gone down the pan to not even mid level phones.

Posted by Bonovox
Yes,see the new thread about admitting to their mistakes

Posted by Miss UK
@ Hobbs do you think you can hack it that long?

I watched some Videos of the X10 on YouTube some American guy said it was a laggy phone
im assuming he had 1.6 still, but as of 2.1 thats fixed that now right?

im hoping that horrid blue background is changeable im not to keeon on it,
i'd rather it be something more colourful,
so will be prob adding live wallpaper to it

has anyone put the Custom rom on theres?
is it better with it or what?...

I think the HTC clock has to be put onto that X10
lol cos the screen looks far to plain for my liking

Posted by Hobbs
Probably not but Im going to sure try.

Posted by Ricky D
@Miss UK try 'Beautiful Widgets' for an HTC style clock (you might be able to pick the apk somewhere off the market if you look in the right places ). It's skinnable and functional. You can't change the blue in mediascape, you can change the theme in timescape. I have no lag issues, run 2.1 rooted with a few of the crap apps removed.

I'm not due for upgrade now till Jun 2012 too. I'll probably get a new handset around Sep/Oct/Nov this year though if there's something nice out by then. Looking for xperia arc style beauty and dual-core.

I've held my X10 since end of March 2010, at nearly 9 months it's my longest serving primary handset since my trusty W800 and I still want to hold onto it for another 9 months at least, maybe it'll hold out till Jun next year.

@orbitech mass props for the widgetsoid pointer a few pages back. I use it to fit 5 apps across on my desktop

You're welcome Ricky D... Liking your screenshot / desktop a lot!

Posted by Ricky D
Thanks, the wallpaper is my view over Beijing from my living room window. You might recognise Battstatt and Tajm widgets and the beautiful weather widget too.

forgive my ignorance, but can someone tell me what is the name of the clock widget in the picture?
and the weather widget is it from beautiful widgets application?
thanks for everyone.

Fancy Widget 1.3.0 .apk is the closest to the HTC clock and the last version before it was taken off the market by htc but is still available.

Posted by buntoo
But it doesn't flip like HTC Sense clock

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
Well yeah could just do the right thing and get a htc instead of trying to imitate

Not the brightest spark then are we

Posted by Ricky D
@20545ZR16 The clock widget is Tajm by Tomas Persson, the weather widget is the 1x1 widget out of the Beautiful Widgets pack and the battery widget is BattStatt also by Tomas Persson.

Posted by Miss UK
Sean, im gunna have to read the manual cos it doesn't come up if I press that or this lol
when folk text me though im getting smileys on the texts

Toney, I loved my HTC however it had a poor display I lived with it for 6/7months then I just wanted a better screen,
it also wasn't capable of playing games eg. Angry birds nor could it cope with Live wallpapers

HTC need to do the Wildfire II same size but with the spec of a Desire,
saying that though they have new Core Processor Mobiles being done over the next few months and well imdue a upgrade Aug but if nothing catches my eye then im happy to keep the X10 and just Sim Only till sumat hot comes out

Seriousley I love this X10 the battery is great too ive been caining it all day and its finally just passed out so im gunna go to sleep now and charge her up

X10 is a top phone I seriousley don't understand where people are coming at moaning about stupidness like updates,
2.1 is working great here 2.2.1is alot of pants trust me... seen it usedit hate the new changes to Android market and why the hell would ya wanna use ur own 3g connected to the pc?

mental with a Capital M....

Posted by Ricky D
@Miss UK which keyboard are you using?

For smileys on the default input method press and hold the button in the bottom left (it has a picture of a smiley face on it) for a second or two then let go and the menu pops up.

For android keyboard press and hold bottom right (this also has a picture of a smiley face on it).

If you're using the Japanese or Koran keyboards then wtf are you doing??! get it switched!

2.2 is way faster scores big in benchmarks, more apps work/better apps like using your 3g connection on your laptop (for thouse who cant afford 2 seperat 3g connections. and what ever the changes are to the market they can't be that bad, i mean you search in different categorys that's it, how can they scew that up?

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Agree with miss uk, the x10 is a great phone, i find it quite fast, definetly faster than the N8, and closer to a 3GS in terms of speed, i used all 3 side-by-side and was very happy with the X10's performance, although as ive said before, Mediascape is the one part that ruins the speed, but overall, IMO, a great device, and realy other than the lack of updates it has been fantastic, the Camera takes great pics (best in Android until the Arc is out), good videos, i get excellent batt life, i get a 1.5days of moderate use and a day with heavy use, excellent display paticularly under sunlight, beautiful design, i hardly ever have to reboot it and it never reboots itself etc...it's an absolute workhorse, very happy with it.
