Hobbs
That is one sweet shot! Eagerly awaiting the 360 shot!

@hobbs...

is that app only for 2.1+?

i'm still on 1.6 and it's not on the market :/

Posted by Hobbs
Moogoo
Im not sure. Its on my market so it must be the case.Try the download from Ipmarts Android Apps and give it a go.Thats where I came across it in the first place.
Heres 180 degrees to start off with.Lets see how this comes out on the page.

Sorry Tsepz, not worth trying a 360 panoramic. It wont fit by the looks of the 180 degree garden shot.

What fishy Live Wallpaper is that Bonovox? Looks cool.

Posted by Bonovox
Animated live wallpaper it looks almost real when they swim around the screen. You can even put of photo of your own behind it & the fish swim around your head When you tap the screen they start feeding

You paid for the full version of the aquarium ?
No way i'd pay for it as nice as it is. I have it but havent paid for the full version. Mostly use Starfield or Galaxy one on mine. Its strange that SE actually preinstalled some live wallpapers into the x10 as the x10 mini and mini dont have any preinstalled ones after updating.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah well,I paid for it on a previous Android phone & when I set up the x10 after the update they appeared in downloads. So my account was remembered With this update it was like having a new phone again

Aye I was expecting to have to pay 3 time to get PowerAMP on my phones but it was already in my download list which is great. Also agree on the update to 2.1. It has made the phone feel new again and different somehow. Same for the x10 minis as well.

Posted by Bonovox
I can't imagine a live wallpaper on that small Mini screen It would kill the battery life on the Mini's Yes the overall usability & look feel & fluidity of the interface is so good now. I think 1.6 was drab compared to it. Only thing I am not fond of is the new lock screen. I prefered the old one as it went in the exact way of your thumb

Yeah some reason I prefered that arc slider for the unlock screen...it was so different.

Oh yeah...I now have 2.1 everyone...time for XDA-Developers to personalize the hell out of it.

Posted by Hobbs
2.1 on the the X10 is so much better that waiting for Custom Roms from XDA isnt so painful anymore.I aint visiting that site anymore until things are a bit more concrete and working. At the moment its just an arena for testers waffling on about the same ol' thing over and over again. And then of course your lazy people who dont bother reading previous post and asking the same old boring questions that have been answered like a trillion times. So if something big does go down over there regarding the X10 ROM creation, please let me know. But for now am very happy with my SE Eclair

Guys if you use Barnicle Wifi Tether to browse the internet with your X10 make sure you sort out your Wireless LAN settings.Just noticed on the Barnicle UI on the phone while I was browsing.....Landman connected....couple of lines down.....renewed Landman.....renewed Landman.
This damn Landman managed to connect and use my Wifi connection because I was a bit lazy to set the whole thing up properley.Did set it up with WEP wireless encrytion with a password so maybe he didnt properly connect and thats why the whole renewed Landman pops up a couple of lines down repeatedly because he couldnt actually connect.
Think I might just start setting up a connection again and this time take it slow and make sure its secure.

Enjoying 2.1 better now. Had a terrible lag earlier. Started hunting for the problem and noticed that deleting the following widgets have made my phone extremely respoonsive.

1) The official twitter app widget
2) The google search widget
3) The rate places widget

So if any of u are having lags, try deleting the above widgets or searching for similarly hungry apps.

Posted by Bonovox
For some reason since the update the only slight lag I have is the camera. It seems to take longer to process pics.

Posted by Hobbs
Bonovox Its the second or two it takes the viewfinder to pop up on the screen that gets me sometimes.Would be so cool if it was instantaneous.
[ This Message was edited by: Hobbs on 2010-11-28 13:13 ]

Posted by moogoo
me too! sometimes i find myself missing a shot entirely cause the view finder is too slow to come up.

Posted by Bonovox
Well, the camera was faster before now I find it goes to a black screen for too long whilst processing the photos. It's not too bad but slower than before but I am not using the x10 camera that much cos it's not that good

Posted by rickster2kuk
It's a bit of shame they've changed the SMS status light. Email flashes bright and often where as the SMS green notifier light is a quicker flash of green which isn't as easy to see.

Posted by Bonovox
I never spotted that and to be honest it does not bother me. Has anyone noticed I am sure it is not my imagination. Since the update the screen looks more vibrant colour and contrast wise. Looks better.

I test my X10 lately:

1. Well the first question I have is - why can't I login to Google account on WiFi when device has no SIM inserted? The internet works ok!

2. There's no fully configurable camera setting: like a "blank" one with all the options available for on/off???

3. There's no easy way to select any text???

I must say I hate onscreen keyboard, especially after excellent X2 hardware....
And the fact that in the landscape when I write text I see only one line, the whole screen is covered by this keyboard.

Posted by Bonovox
I think the keyboards have improves in usability in the update

Posted by rickster2kuk
^ Yep, keyboard is a massive improvement. Auto word correction is miles on from the 1.6 version of the keyboard.

Yes but it covers the whole screen.

Can anybody answer my questions

Well I switched my iPhone 4 with my wifes white x10 and man is this thing slow. Almost a lightyear behind regarding responsivness but I did not appreciate the iTunes chains so I will keep the x10 for now and hope for an update that will meet it`s potentiale

Well it will be one more update....

Posted by Bonovox
I don't find the x10 slow It was a little when it first came out but not now.

@doministry

#1 - don't all phones require SIM for you to start it up? It is a phone after all with wifi/internet capability and not vice versa. Though, I get your point and would be a nice option if you were abroad or something.

#2 - what do you mean?

#3 - can't answer it cause i haven't gotten the 2.1 update yet

Okay.....

As for #1
Nope the phone is fully functional without SIM and after connecting to WiFi
it browses perfectly but fails to log to Google.... But yes, it can be still lack of SIM.

#2
Well, on my X2 there's a custom setting in camera which allows to specify all the settings individually, not automatically.
In X10 apparently all is based on scenes/automatic settings...

Posted by Bonovox
X10 has loads of settings it's not like the X10 Mini cameras

Posted by Hobbs
In landscape there are two lines of text and since its landscape quite alot can be said in those two lines that is if you not writing a book or anything.Keyboard is a great improvement in 2.1.
Speedwise for me its fine.I dont understand all the people that say this phone is slow. What are you guys doing to your phones.Yes we do need Froyo for that speedboost but. Eclair is fine for the time been.I only got my X10 mid June. That's 6 months Ive had it.In the past I was like Bonovox,
a couple month, bored, disappointed, move on to next phone and thats in contract. At one stage I had 3 contracts just so that upgrades were closer together and not two years apart.Since getting this X10,I've terminated one and am going to terminated a second one March. This baby is here to stay till June 2012.And that's a fact.

to those with Face Recognition slowing you down... really simple (and obvious ) thing to do to make sure it does NOT run in the background and cause your phone to lag at times... start the camera and change the focus setting to the standard single point focus. This prevents it from running in the background and hogging your CPU

Posted by Bonovox
I am actually finding the camera is only slow in auto mode if in scene mode its fast

Well I read and edit many .docs like theatre scenarios with 50 pages
so in this case 2 lines is a joke.
With hardware qwerty I see the whole page.....

Wish would make X10 Pro.

Doministry Bad luck for you then.Get a netbook or a phone with a Qwerty keyboard.Problem solved.

I ask because I have to know
if this browser supports ONLY YouTube videos
or all the content whis is flash.

Sorry for OT but what issues did people have with the X2? It must be the best looking QWERTY slider I've seen since well its predecessor the X1, was it highly unstable? It seems networks dropped it after just a few months, no network here seems to do it.

I use Skyfire on my X10, it works with most sites, not just YouTube, but on some sites it doesnt work, realy depends.

Can you check the above ones?
(As for X2 it's the best made device ever, keyboard is a dream and the screen too, I think slightly better
than X10. The problem is stability sometimes and it should have more RAM.)

Can someone tell me what the hell is wrong with my x10 camera?? It's bloody awful & if you look at my photo section you can see I know how to take a decent shot but all shots keep coming up with a left side blur. I had this when I had the Desire HD. Why??
OriginalLook at all my pics in the section they all have left side blur I have even worse.

Very strange Bonovox that it happened on your HD as well.Im clueless.

Posted by Bonovox
I am using a different memory card too so its not that. I also notice in my x10 the camera lens looks off centre. Oh god I am sick of this having issues all the time. But I am starting to not give a stuff about mobile phone cameras anymore they never deliver the quality of my real camera. Cannot be arsed to go swap it cos the store would think I was insane

Posted by moogoo
@bonovox - finger smudge? I was trying to take pictures in regular and scene modes and kept getting blurry pictures when I autofocused. I put it into document mode and pictures are really sharp and crisp now. Strange but it worked.

Posted by Flori
@ Bonovox:
Did you drop it?
Maybe the lens is a bit broken/out of alignment

Thanks mate that is so strange I just put it in document mode & the left blurry side has gone How is that?? It is for macro but does distant shots fine. The same thing happened to me when I had Samsung Jet

Posted by Hobbs
What it is is seriously f'd-up but thanks for the tip Moogoo.

Posted by moogoo
haha yea.. don't ask me. it worked so i kept with it auto focus is a lot faster and much more sharp and crisp too. maybe it's a bug of some kind.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah when I had Samsung Jet pics were blurry in auto but sharp in document mode even at distance. Very odd but if it works who cares

Posted by rickster2kuk
Unlikely but it could be a lens defect, I had one of those blurry spots on my K750 and it turned out to a lens problem. SE dutifully fixed it.

Posted by Ricky D
I've had lens problems before too. K850 had a chip on the lens gave a funny figure of 8 pattern where any direct light came in. SE fixed it quickly when I told them.
