Yes you can use more than one memory card. Just make sure the default folders are the same on both. Only problem you have is constantly turning the phone off, removing the battery cover and battery to swap the card over. End result is a very worn battery cover which creaks and doesn't lock properly.

Yea, that's a problem... That's why I love my W910 - it has dedicated memory card section, not under the back cover, as it's on the new SE phones... I've also got used to transfering my music/videos/photos/data via card reader, but I might have to change my habits.

Hello All,
i have a friend with an X10i (still on 1.6) that was making on a call, then hang up like normal.
5 minutes later take the phone and the touch screen function was not working at all.
he rebooted the phone, took out the battery for an our, and still with that problem
he managed to enter the service test menu, then test touch screen and it is not working,
any one have anything like this before?
could this be hardware or software problem?
thanks everyone in advanced.

Anyone know how to get the calendar to display full screen on one of the tabs, like we've seen in the pre-release screenshots?

Just wondering, and please be honest, is it just my phone, or is 2.1 very slow? I have problems with games and apps, like Angry Birds and Spotify. A lot of programs are often lagging and the home screen and "app folder" are slow too!
I have reinstalled android and cleaned the memory stick but without any change, anyone got any ideas how to fix this??

my x10i 2.1 is running amazingly smooth and fast
install system monitor from the market and check witch applications are putting load on the CPU sending the phone to run slow, kill them and see.

Thanks!
I downloaded OSmonitor from market and discovered that the face recognition software and google search used the most CPU, no wonder the phone is slow when the CPU usage is at 97% But how do i keep it down? Google search just restarts itself and i guess the face.... will do the same the moment I start the camera?

Tell your friend to send the phone in to get fixed or get a new one.I cant think of anything software related that would stop touch screen functionality.

Root your X10

Posted by Ricky D
For those of you who have taken the plunge in rooting your X10 I just found a good list of pre-installed apps and services and which are safely removable without destroying functionality.

Just thought I'd share.

P.S. remember to backup before you remove anything!

Got my Xperia X10a (AT&T) last Monday and it is still no use to me.

I am waiting on my unlock code ordered on Tuesday from Unlocking.com. A completion date of Nov 22 was promised.

I am so frustrated.

I have uninstalled Face recognition and google search, now lets see how it effects the speed in real life..
I still found it strange why everyone else seems to enjoy it. If this doesn't work i'm waiting for the XDA guys to release the Android 2.2 so i can get a power boost

Posted by >500
Anyone have wifi issues on 2.1? Mine wont connect. I have the right password, pc works fine with router etc etc

Posted by moogoo
i'm still waiting for 2.1!

gahhhhhh... driving me nuts. i want to record some HD vids... how is that for people anyway?

Posted by OffLineR
HD videos are epic.
Sometimes battery drains faster than 1.6 but sometimes it holds longer.
I think I need to root the device and kill those battery draining apps.

Overall fantastic
I really love it.
Espeacially after that multitouch news I'm really excited.
I don't need that but it will be massive punch on those people who keep talking about how MT is necessary

Whats good to use to get the most out of your battery with a rooted X10? How is it different from Advanced task killer what else is killed?

@Toney_Ericsson
Personally I used Titanium Backup to remove face recognition, facebook app (it starts at boot and I don't use it anyway), moxier, quadrapop and wisepilot. I installed the stock gallery app and use that instead of mediascape for photos and videos and I stopped using adv task killer. My been testing it like that for today and half yesterday. As yesterday wasn't a full day I tried a full day today from 100%, this morning I spent 3 bored hours in a hospital so I was web browsing, playing games and sending emails. Sent half a dozen texts and received that same. It's 6:30pm here and I'm on 45%. That's not bad. As what somebody else here said using something like OS monitor to see what processes are abusing your CPU and then removing those processes helps a lot with the speed of the device. I've experienced about 80% less lag than before I removed face recognition and moxier, which is why I decided to go ahead and stop using ATK too.

Posted by MyP910
I agree with the cpu monitoring. Once the apps that hogging the cpu is removed, the phone will be very fast, smooth and the battery will last longer. Currently my phone can last more than 24 hrs.

face recognition service belong to who ? Android or SE ?

The phone will be laggy if the cpu is running at 100%. I believe it is the same with PC.

try to reboot you router and it will connect just fine

Posted by Ricky D
..and face recognition is the real stinger with battery consumption and lagginess, to my feel removing this feature alone has contributed to most of the gains I've had in speed. I think it must be constantly trying to match faces and tag them in photos from the card or it has been coded in a really silly way. Either way it needs to be fixed in the next update because compared to not having it there at all the phone is really slow.

Posted by OffLineR
You are right about constant scanning.
It scans my facebook photos as well.
I think every single picture opened on the phone is scanned by it

Posted by SKIBBE
every time i boot i stop the FaceRape app, but is that enough? or shall i root my phone and remove more to get the most out of it?

Posted by Ricky D
The face recognition service kept restarting on my phone. Dunno what was triggering it though. I've not had any difficulties since rooting and removing it but that doesn't mean I won't at some point, fingers crossed.

i did a single click root with 1.6 to be able to use a theme.. but that one f**ked up my one so i restored it and un rooted, i guess you will have to do a REAL root to be able to remove faceR and moixer mail and other stuff?

Update for you with Spotify http://www.spotify.com/se/download/previews/ xxx get the spotify beta, now with HD-gfx and more options like the pc-version

Guys don't beat me

Just got X10 from my carrier, and I will probably sell it (cheap )

But the question - to use Calendar I HAVE TO have Google account and log to it?!
When I try to open this it asks for that, no other option.

?!

Sadly yes. It's a bit selfish from Google.

Don't want to create Google acc just to use the device.
Horrid.

I mean you can't use the internet features of the phone. Some basic ones, yes.

It's the same with any android handset and a bog reason why I will stay with android after my X10 is the integration of my google account which I use many features of.

Posted by SKIBBE
you don't need to use the gmail, just have an account. and it all will work just fine. i never uses it mail feature but i do sync my contacts and callandar just for safty. and to be able to use the market you must have a gmail to verify if you buy something.

Yes but I'm forced to make another account which I don't want to do!

I have turned all synching off to google. Prefer to keep my backups at home. Another issue I have cone across is if you swap sim card (going abroad) and don't have internet set up in that country, the calendar fail to find a connection and nothing is shown in the calendar. Remembero keep paper copies of your travel info Don't know if this is the case woth 2.1 but was definitely a letdown on 1.6.

That's what I'm talking about! The Calendar is requiring internet connection what
is like a fckn joke.
So screw you Google. X10 goes to sell.

@doministry i know, i was in your position when i got the phone, but i had to surrender to be able to use it. it's the price we will have to pay... another acount again!
