Update it if you have the chance. 2.1 is sweet. I did a bit of hacking earlier and got 2.1 but if the generic uk was out when you posted then I should have just waited an hour..

Just reinstalled cp companion and says a update is ready, so will now do it after work and have all weekend to play with it

Wooohooo. X10 is back. 2.1 Installed and "Rooted" with no problems so far.

Posted by glorfingal
generic uk installed ... just waiting on the phone to boot

@andy777 - what did you use to root ?

Posted by AndyD777
@glorfingal has the UK 2.1 update released? I used one of the downloads from the XDA forums.

Posted by Phoner
According to xda 2.1 for UK is out.

Posted by AndyD777
I used the SuperOneClickv1.zip from this thread.

Posted by glorfingal
having used davinci's "demo" I reset to "customised/uk - r2ba026" firsth thing, then ran SEUS
which said new software so Generic UK it is
Cheers for the root link ..... I'll play later tonight.

I never had an issue with call volume, but I'm going to the local "mall" later so I'll try it out

glorfingal
yeah i didnt have any issues in quiet environments. It was when I was on trains, malls etc etc that I had problems hearing. I await your real world testing

Anyone with Germany Version had their update yet?
Also, I'm in the USA, using PC Companion, would that mess with my software updates?

Posted by glorfingal
one really nice thing I've found ... when turned off and then plugged in to charge
it doesn't turn itself back on - still don't like the keyboard (time to install the htc_ime one
from xda)

Posted by AndyD777
Does anyone have the default.prop values from the UK firmware?

Posted by glorfingal

Interesting.....

It has no mention now of the UK firmware and the CDA/CDF number has changed.

Glad to hear you guys are updating.
At the moment am using Power Amp and Mixzing for my music listening. Both have equalizers. One a 10-band and the other a 12-band.
Have any of you used these music players and what do you think of them?

Posted by >500
may be purchasing another x10. cant decide if i want a black one again or a white now! fingers crossed call volume has changed

this galaxy + froyo + lag stinks! Even with the lag fix

Posted by Hobbs
Also Typefresh is working fine on X10 2.1.Its always good to know these things when an app tells you that you have to reboot before changes take effect.
The Busybox I installed within Titanium didnt work with Typefresh (never got the reboot option)
I used Busybox downloaded from the Market and then it worked.

Get the white! get the white!

Posted by OffLineR
Black one looks good but white one is a winner

Posted by tranced
@Hobbs: did you regret getting you a black one?

Posted by Popolou
UK SEUS is monstrously slow.

You kids in school should be hard at work and not bunking off to flash your x10's

To me it seems like they've something along the lines of realigning the regions to be more clear and unified and possibly to stop this issue of updates being gradually rolled out occurring in future.

Counting the hours down to update my X10 guess we all be talking about the Android 2.1 update 2 soon, hope we get mutitouch and 16Gb million colours with that

I'd be keen to hear from anyone having difficulty downloading data account settings for your provider. Seems Voda's package fails each time.

Android is 3 years old today

Posted by andie2247
to be honest think im selling up, we wait this long and only get updated to 2.1 not 2.2, and ive read some where the phone does not meet the specs for 3.0 so guess the phone will soon be dead for support

I have update my X10 to 2.1 and here are the things I don't like:

- Picture contact is poor and blurry when receiving and making calls even if you used high res pictures

- The miss calls green led is not as bright as before and the flashing frequency is slower than 1.6.

- There is lag in the menu drawer, scrolling up and down is not as smooth as 1.6.

- When I listen to music while doing other stuffs like surfing the net, the music would be interpret for a split second more often which I don't think it was there in 1.6.

Can people with 2.1 tell me how to solve the about issues or they are things that SE need to act on? Thanks !

no update in the uk for me.got a white x10 on orange.any ideas people?wonder what will come c
first,my htc desire z or 2.1

I think you can expect the UK network FWs in about a week, 3 may take longer as they like to have their stuff on there too.

2.1 is good, interface looks and feels 'bolder', for those still wondering, still no 16m colours, no flash and no MT as was expected.

Still can't get used to the straight slider as opposed to the arc but that's the only thing niggling me.

We also have black ones here.
