How do i remove "new week" in the callender? it's "green" when i have nothing there it's just show's it's a new week but i think i can manage to remeber that every monday is a new week...

Posted by mange69
I've put my updated phone on charge and the symbol for charging is on, but the phone keep on loosing power instead of gaining even though I have flight mode active.

Also my Agenda Widget (from Market) has changed. It doesn't show more than one calendar. It used to be an option to check box more than one, now it just says Standard as the only option.

thinking of doing a master reset before doing the up date and leave my 16Gb card out too till the update is done and sort some settings out, if ur memory card is full it can really slowdown the X10 last time I put like 8 albums on my phone in one go it slowdown my phone all night can only imagine what it be like for the whole 16Gb plus will have the facial recognition photos, music, videos ect running in the background to slow it down so will do mine at night so it can sortthings our while I'm sleeping. I'm sure people who have upgraded will of had this and can let us know that it speeds up after a while?

It depends which class of memory card you are using. From what I have read in other forums, they are using 8-10 class and it's working charm!

well its the class 2 sandisk I want to get a 32gb card but can't find as good class one like 8 or so don't want a cheap one I want quality make that will do the job all the time. any out there?

Can anyone tell us how the battery Power is any better? or its too early to find out! Sony Ericsson did say way back that the 2.1 will be 10-15% better on power.

Posted by OffLineR
It definetely is.
Usually in this time of the day battery level should be around %30 but now it is at %51.
Facebook and twitter updates in every hour.
I have been using whatsapp since the morning.
Checked emails couple of times and browse on the web a little.
There is a live wallpaper on the background.

I think it is amazing so far.

Posted by mange69
One more change is the Background data. Now I have to activate it to make Gmail push to work. On 1.6 I didn't hade to have it on. Only if I wanted to have auto sync for contacts and calendar.

Posted by SKIBBE
Been playing with the facebook>contacts syncing (without timescape) i lack the option to have a HIRES picture. it looks great as a thumb but callID is blurry and do not justice the high end x10i screen. and if you already have a picture set you will have to remove it manualy. and no Manual browsing for FB conntacts (if you have a diffrent phonebook entry than from the facebook profile) means you must rename your contact then do a search again.

Does your screen also flicker once a few seconds before it turn off in standby?

I'm getting rather annoyed now....
When is this update scheduled for the UK? As the UK website has loads about the upgrade to 2.1....cmon SE

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
I've read someone in Russia has a generic update version so it is moving out to other countries in Europe but yes would be nice to see the generic UK version like now.

Posted by SKIBBE
the update to 026 for NCB had me waiting last of everyone, even the branded phones here in sweden got it before me, so now it's my turn!

Edit anyone noticed the "automatic AF in normal camera-mode, not just filming, it makes the "picture-taking part slow and with varied results :/

This maybe a stupid question but I couldn't find anything online to tell me what region my X10 is. From the build number? Base version? Kernel version?

Btw,mine is:

Base version: 1.1.31
Kernel version: 2.6.29-rel (semc-android@SEMC #2)
Build number: R2BA026

This update is AWESOME!!! , my X10 feels likea whole new phone again. It was laggy at 1st but now its blazing through the Menu and Apps, absolutely loving it especialy the browser

Posted by Lostsoulz
would be nice for Sony Ericsson to let us know when what packs come out when! any one with 2.1 has the ear volume increased?

Posted by brunoXT
hey guys..
since the x10 is gonna get 2.1 it has called my attention lately. I read some review that say the battery lasts only a day. For you guys who have the x10, have you experienced a bad performance from the battery?
Also is it true there is not FM radio ??
thanks in advance.

I charge mine every night, but really dont think any other phone is better, big screen, cpu demanding apps/live wallpapers, surfing the web, syncing facebook/mail/weather apps many times aday

there is no FM radio bult in, but it shipps with the MW600 BT headsets (that has an fm reciver, no need to even use the phone) and as for radio in your phone, you can just stream from the internet with xiia/winamp/spotify or i guess your country/local radio station has some radio app.

Posted by Rookwise
Not all X10's ship with the MW600 in the package. The o2 uk version just comes with a basic set of headphones.
Its strange theres no radio seeing as the x10 minis have a radio feature built in.

Posted by brunoXT
No Fm radio and the x10 mini has it... I am in the look for an android unlocked phone here in the US and SE X10 is one good choice because phones like samsung and HTC lastest android are too expensive for the unlocked ones or they are brandred but sim free... I just want a unlocked factory one like the x10 but since theres no fm radio, besides the lack of multitouch... I just cant decide quite well what phone to buy. looks like the n900 will stay for a bit longer

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Is it just me or has the X10 gone louder in both Mediascape and in-call?

Try this:

@brunoxt
It's true in the beginning the battery was awful not even lasting a day but now my battery lasts two days with an hour per day of gaming, an hour per day of internet browsing, a dozen texts per day, a 20 minute phone call per day, push gmail on with about 20-30 emails on work days and if I don't use the GPS. If I take it away with me on a trip I only get a day out of it, but I use it twice as much and take 50-100 photos and videos.

One of the other guys with the update will have to tell you how much better it is with that.

I have my phone in "automatic check for updates" mode, but I'm beginning to wonder if that is not working. It seems you can only update via Sony Ericsson PC Companion on the computer, which i wonder if the phone would pick up an update at all. can someone verify? I find myself yesterday and today frequently manually checking for updates.

When will the updates come to USA? I live in Kansas,USA and is on T-Mobile USA network. I bought my phone unlock via eBay and I dunno where my phone came from. Is that a factor in the updates? does it matter where I am or which version I'm using?

Model version: x10i
firmware: 1.6
Baseband ver: 1.1.31
Kernel ver: 2.6.29-rel
Build number: R2BA026

ALSO: Music can be put into playlists, can we do that with videos on the Xperia x10?

Btw, I realized that compare to many other latest Android phones, the Xperia x10 lacks many things, like a secondary, front-facing camera, Flash for pictures, FM radio (not via apps), multi-touch capabilities and the infamous long wait for only Android 2.1 while many are on 2.2 Froyo.

But since this is SE first Android device, I hope that their upcoming models would incorporate the latest, advanced, high-tech hardware and user friendly software/OS.

though I'll still keep my Xperia x10, which I like very much, but hopefully SE improve their new models while doing everything they possibly can to improve the SE Xperia x10 as well.

My problem is, if and when they come out with their new models, what will I do with my xperia x10?...

How did you get to improve the battery? Are you talking about after a firmware upgrade in the past?

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
No update yet for my Singapore X10 sadly. Still, I'm confident it won't be very far away.

Posted by andie2247
yay i beleave im on the uk generic firmware
baseband 1.1.25
kernel version 2.6.29-rel
build number r2ba020

when i went into service menu it said generic so i guess i should get the update as soon as its out in the uk

Finally.. After two and a half year.. My old buddy SEW910i died.. Just let him rest in peace now..

Hohoho.. Nevermind of him anymore.. I've got my new buddy already!!! Oh, my lovely Xperia X10i..
But wait a minute! Where the hell is Theme configuration??!!!!

Posted by Ravager
After a days usage i can honestly say, wow what an improvement!
Sadly i haven't noticed any difference in call volume. The battery life is much better, after a whole day of usage, playing games, surfing the web, listening to music, timescape updates, 3g always on and wifi, you know, been using it a lot, I still had 30% left!
And the UI looks great, can be a bit sluggish at times, but bearable!

And the HD video capture looks good too

Posted by tyko
^^ I agree, the battery life seems improved as the whole experience. The HD recording could've been better but it's ok. I can actually hear the AF working when i'm playing clips on the computer and the framerate drops when shooting indoors. Thats my biggest complaints. Anyway, its better than before.

when looking at the "hidden menu" info, under sim info .... what's 5 - unlocked or locked ??

Posted by Ricky D
@brunoxt 'conditioning' the battery (fully charging and discharging the battery as many as 6 times) helped a lot and a small firmware upgrade helped too. I'm hoping the 2.1 update helps even more

@glorfingal 5 is unlocked I believe

Posted by OffLineR
IMO, in-call volume level is increased. Not much but it is sufficient now.

Secret menu combination doesn't work with the new FW.

After 1,5 days of usage, I love it.
Email program is same. IT is lame IMO. It always was
They should have improved that.
It is still difficult to manage mails.

I still move my finger to unlock screen like when I unlock with arc slider.
Vertical movement doesn't effect unlock buttons behaviour.

What I love:
* Last Call Widget (Awsome)
* New apps with 2.1
* Live wallpapers
* Faster UI
* Faster Phone Book
* Phone Book integration with other programs
* Easy to call-back buttons
* Much Faster Timescape (Now it is usable )
* Call screen is great as well
* Faster response while entering PIN unlock
* Incredibly fast response with unlock screen (Perfect IMO)
* Significantly improved battery perfomance

What I hate:
* Difficult to setup newly added parametres
* Still don't understand how I can manage online Facebook contacts. I have been using SyncPix to sync my facebook contacts, now I have no idea which ones are synced via Phone itself

Itīs changed, now it is "Home" (the middle button) and "Back" buttons.
Home -> Back -> Back -> Home -> Back -> Home -> Home -> Back.

Thanks for sharing this...that's exactly what I've been looking for...a music player with full equaliser control. Having played with it for a short while, it does sound fantastic. It's definitely saved me from having to endure listening to this horrible and most basic Mediashite SE have put on the X10.

thank you SKIBBE for the reply
tested the phone at home and it connect to wifi with n problem
arrived today to office and it is connecting now to network with no problem
do not know what happened but happy it is working again.
and yes about the battery indicator it turns red at 30%
did not noticed any improvement about the in call volume
timescape is now updating faster from twitter and FB
sound quality still crappy
the battery consumption is by far better then before
can anyone share a good web for downloading live wallpaper?
thank you.

Try this:

  • Lock the screen

  • press home button so the screen is on

  • do not slide the slider

  • press menu back back menu back menu menu back to enter the service menu

  • Model info will give you the customization and Country the phone was distributed in

Thanks, I found my region: Belgium. Hopefully, 2.1 will be out soon for my region.

I think the phone consumes more battery with 2.1. Feels like there are more data transfer.
The exit option in the web browser is gone.
The LED doesn't work for me (and a friend of mine) with Handcent SMS.
Still some lagg in the flow although I have disabled parts of the animation. The keybord has less vibration and also here when writing the letters doesn't always come up at once. I miss the back and forward keys on the keybord.
New icon for 3G and (H) High speed data.
The screen doesn't lock it self after a phone call anymore.
One can use the power button to close the screen when making a call. Before it ended the call.
New icon for email notification.
Still no gmail in Timescape. Just showing email from the other email client.
No Timescape as startscreen. Don't miss it either.
Photo light still hidden in the settings instead of on the screen in camera mode.
I get a new box on the screen when I connect it to my laptop via USB. It also behaves strange such as not showing up as a unit in the file explorer, but PC Companion recognizes it.

Otherwise I'm very satisfied with the update.

Cheers,

Seems like the New update is a Hit! When should I expect it here in the US (not necessarily a US version, bought it before it came out on AT&T)?
5-10 times a day, I press "search for updates" on my phone.
