Higher the better, Class 2 is the slowest of all, Try to get at least Class 4, but since you are gonna get the 32GB one I think you should try a higher class like Class 6 or 8

Umm... Posted September 23rd dude. It is October.

Posted by wiraperkasa
that announcement was like a month ago which due end of this month.what are you implying on?

Posted by mediar
@Toney_Ericsson - Have you read the date of the post?! Why are you posting false sh*t here?! Have you ever been on the homepage of the blog to see which is the latest blog post instead just posting random links to older posts? Measure twice and cut once. Don't make unwanted buzz around, before making sure your information isn't groundless.

I wouldn't be surprised if that posted by a new user, searching for attention, but not from you. That's not good...

The earlier announced date of end of october still holds, but it seems there shall be no more future updates for the X10 family

Rikard Skogberg says:
October 28, 2010 at 5:37 am
I would like to declare the EoL (End of Life) of the X10 family once the 2.1 update hits the market. We are rethinking our strategies for future phones and we are pulling our resources to make the x12 and psp phone happen on time and better than the x10 family.

@Indiandawg

class is easy to se what speed it guarantee

class 2 = 2MB/s
class 4 = 4MB/s
class 6 = 6MB/s (i has 16gb, works nice, but moving large amount of files is slow even with class 6 me thinks, but the price also whights in when you by a SDcard

class 10=10 10MB/s

Another X10 2.1 review with screenshots here...

@gayannr
I wonder where you can get 32GB class 6 or 8 microSD, Sandisk at best has only class 2

Yeah, hehe... Me too, for two days of constantly refreshing xda I've had enough! It's like a drug...
I don't think we'll see a update this week, especially not for those with branded phones.

It's a pity they removed the arc slider, and i'm hoping for Spotify integration in Timescape/Mediascape that would be awesome! They talked about it like months ago...

Personally, I would be surprised if they release it on a Thursday or a Friday. Most companies like this typically like to release something like this on a Monday / Tuesday so that they have a working week to handle any feedback, reaction, unexpected problems etc.

Would expect to see the roll out start on Monday.

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
I have all faith Sony Ericsson will release an update by the end of 2 days time.... not.

As for higher classes of SD cards have a look on amazon they are on there.

They also mentioned that this kind of integration was reserved for operator branded phones.

Suddenly all my entries are missing in my calendar. Cleared calendar cache, restored from Sprint backup but nothing shows up in calendar. Ant suggeations? Anyone?

Posted by Indiandawg
Just went through XDA and there are some links which shows there is another delay.

here is one of the link
http://androidcommunity.com/a[....]r-xperia-x10-delayed-20101028/

I guess it's now 1st week of November.

Posted by winnerzero
Is it true that we can't use Timescape as homescreen anymore with the upcoming update? Where did that information come from?

I'm not surprised that SE are late again on the update, its kind of expected really.

Posted by avmaxfan
No no all that is last month news recycling. The update is NOT delayed. Expected anytime soon according to SE

Posted by fjcarlsson
SE confirmed in their official video that the home screen function for Timescape is no more. I guess the widget will do.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Ah well, not a big deal, would have been nice to have that option stay though.

If you're going to call bullshit, do it with proper facts. It's been delayed once, not twice.

But not to mention how many blog wrote an article about the false delay, linking one each other and the old post on SE's product blog. It seems that a lot of people act spontaneously...

Yes, that was just plain stupid of the various blogs to do so. I mean, seriously, it takes just a few seconds to find the date of that post on SE's product blog.

Obviously your plain stupid as well as the update has been delayed twice.

Get your facts right before you post bullshit you stupid moron.

It can be taken that the vast majority of variants of the X10 will get their updates sometime in November rather than this weekend. With over 100 variants of the X10, many of them network variants which require further proofing by their respective networks, I would expect only maybe one or two generic regionals to get the update before November first, if any at all.

@Toney_Ericsson
Which were the two delays?

@Toney_Ericsson
No need to be rude or offensive, it's just a software update...
You obviously have some difficulties communicating politely with other people.

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
The same two months as Sony Ericsson officially said. September and October that doesn't mean November or December or next f**king year or Q4 of 2020.

There is also a further SE delay, my next SE handset has unfortunately been delayed for a HTC instead so unfortunately it's f**k YOUUUUU Sony Ericsson.

Typed using a HTC Desire HD running Froyo 2.2

Relax dude. What Mizzle and mediar said is correct. Most of the blogs are simply recirculating stale news. The updae hasn't been delayed. it'll roll out at the end of october, which in SE's case implies the last day of october I guess.

u'unknown13x' from xda has posted his first impressions of 2.1 on X10 here but it seems the link isn't working atm. I have posted some of the screenshots here though.

Btw...does anyone know when the X8 will get the update? All I hear from SE is standard answers like "later in Q4". Wish they would come out with an exact timeframe.

Posted by Toney_Ericsson
I'm not talking talking about blogs I'm talking about when Sony Ericsson said it would be released. It wasn't September and it's not late October.

If it was going to be November or December they should of said so instead of as always bull crapping customers.

Posted by goldenface
@Toney_Ericsson

Some blogs have take the articles down about the non-delay, so obviously they were in the wrong or they wouldn't have retracted the news.

I also noticed the lack of news on X8 update, what is more they are saying they do not have information about what improvements the 2.1 update will bring to X8. The improvements should be similar to X10mini/pro also judging from the previously leaked Android SE roadmap.

Posted by Mizzle
@Toney_Ericsson

First of all, you've got issues.

Secondly, they initially said Q4, and then changed it to Q3. That's not a delay - the opposite rather. They then delayed it from Q3 to end of October. There's a delay - one, not two.

Renewed my contract. Today my X10 will be delivered. I wasn´t going to get it at first, but:
1 year contract
200 minutes/month
surf&mail unlimited
SE X10
----------------------> total in a year a bit less than 280 euro´s!!! That´s practically free. I had to check it a couple of times to believe it.

Do you mean, if it has the 2.1 update or not? I am pretty sure it will have 1.6. and will have to update myself when 2.1 is available. I didn´t read much about this so called HD version, but it seems to be just marketing.

From : http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/

"Today I can confirm that we will start the roll-out of the Android 2.1 based updates for Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro now this coming Sunday. The roll out will start in the evening European time.

So far I have received confirmation that the generic kits for the Nordic countries will be the very first ones out on Sunday evening and then there will be more kits coming already during Monday and then the roll-out will continue throughout the month of November.

As said earlier these updates will give you some features introduced by Android 2.1 and the Xperia X10 will also get HD-video recording in 720p with continuous auto focus.
The changes in user experience after the update is a mix of things added or changed going from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1 and things changed or improved by us directly.

As a re-cap – The key changes for the different products are the following:

Xperia X10:
• HD video recording with continuous auto-focus for high quality videos
• Upgrade of the Android platform to Android 2.1
• New back up and restore application, with extended content back up
• 5 homescreens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders
• Social phonebook which automatically syncs contact pictures from Facebook and shows when your friends are online

Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro:
• Improved Bluetooth functionality with support for sending and receiving pictures, contacts and more
• New backup and restore application with extended content back up
• Automatic synchronization of your contact pictures between Facebook and your phone book
• Improved ways of handling pictures, audio, text and numbers in your messages
• Upgrade of the Android platform to Android platform 2.1

In most markets, your phone will automatically let you know with a notification when the update is ready for your specific software version and then you will be guided to how to perform the update using the PC Companion software. In that process, because of this being a big update, you will also be guided through some steps to be able to backup personal data before the update and then restore it when the update is finished. Find out more at Sony Ericsson | Nouvelles mises à jour logicielles. Faites-en toujours plus, ne ratez plus jamais rien*! |

IMPORTANT: As I’ve pointed out previously here on the blog the software upgrade will be done in a phased roll-out which means that different “kits” gets the update at different times. This to secure quality in all networks and countries. So don’t get paranoid if your phone isn’t updated in the very first days – it will come!

What we mean by a “kit” is a different configuration, i.e. color of the phone, bundled accessories but most importantly in this case different software configurations. The difference in software between different kits is mainly related to included settings, applications, network configuration etc – all this to comply to different legal and network requirements. All of these different kits need separate approvals based on market and network, hence the phased roll-out.
I will try to keep track of which versions that get released continuously and will post updates when new markets or “kits” become available. Feel free to share your findings in the comments section here when you get the update for your phone! "
