I wanna know more about a product in order to choose to spend or not my money on this ! Ok??

Now i 'm not a kid who wants to play games and use facebook...
I want some divx support there for movies without convert them to mp4... for long distance trips
And multitouch for zoom in-out photos/browsers etc ...
A big screen (already have that)
And a software that handles hardware better.... i dont care if android 1.6 limits colors... then go to 2.0...

You remind me a guy some posts before saying...

I don't need radio... i use handsfree
i dont' need camera ... i use my slr
hell.. i don't need a phone ... there are phonebooths everywhere !!

jeez !!!

I just presented you the facts given to this date by officials. If you can't take the facts the that's your problem. I never said or even hinted that multi-touch or 16m colors are not needed. How you got it to me reminding you of that guy you describe is kinda disturbing in my head. I also never made fun of you.

Let me quote my self
just wait for final specs
Link

In my latest post I tried to help you and others understand what Amir is saying in his post. Link
is considered for the future

The UX platform... will evolve to Android 2.0 over time

Lets be honest here ok, there is a reason why he answers like a politician would...

Keywords: considered, future, over time.

If the UX isn't made from scratch for multi-touch then it will take time to implement multi-touch for the UX.
If you have any programming background then you will understand that the UX is made up of layers Link. can port it to A2.0 and decide where on the UX to implement/allow or restrict multi-touch.
It isn't a impossible thought that in the near future ports UX in its current form (single-touch) to A2.0 letting you have many of the benefits of A2.0 on the X10 (new browser, better keypad, better maps, better color depth, multi-touch OGL2.0 etc). Core parts of the OS (think standard on-screen keyboard) are not affected by the UX. This is also what the phrase "over time" hints at. could in the beginning restrict you in the UX with just touch and still let you use multi-touch via the the standard A2.0 on-screen keyboard or in games.

As I said before, give them a bit time, the hardware is there.

Concerning Android 2.0 update, said:

* Will the X10 receive Android 2.0 update (for those who bought from the initial batches with Android 1.6)?
The UX platform used for Xperia X10 will evolve to Android 2.0 over time.

If I'm not wrong, "initial batches" means first amount, initial serie of produced devices which will be avaliable in shops. In my opinion the answer clearly states that there will be an update to 2.0 a while after the device will be released. I think the problem is that can't just say this directly at the moment:)

10 minute italian video preview BURIED!

i saved it and put it back online, but im not going to DLink it here, just search dailymotion for yzarc )user(

Posted by sealover94
So still no info about A2.0 update...it will be quite a dissapointment for such a good hardware!
A2.0 upgrade will give us multitouch and 16M... otherwise all we have is an expensive super-car with bad driver ...

Sealover, have you ever considered Motorola Droid?
It has the speed, compass, display, multitouch and Android 2.0.
I have been thinking of one myself since I prefer physical keyboard but in Sweden where I live mostly, there wont be any retailer selling Motorola Droid, at least not the usual ones I get my phones from.

It's a bit funny and sad at the same time
to see people freaking out about multitouch

without any word on any really essential features.

Personally, I don't care about it at all.
I would not really use it anyway since it's much less comfortable
than double tap...
But it's just me maybe.

Anyway curious to see what Android on X10 will really offer
in functionality, browser, office etc...
While getting X2 myself...

Posted by moogoo
if i remember correctly, the english version of the italian blog video stated that there will be an android 2.0 update coming. Whether this is fact or simply their speculation is unclear.

Would I use it if it was available? Sometimes.
Is it ABSO-EFFIN-SEALOVER-LUTELY essential that a phone should have multi-touch? Not really.
Is it ABSO-EFFIN-SEALOVER-LUTELY essential that a phone should have multiTASKING? Well, duh.

Point is, there are far more essential features that a phone must have and the X10 has them ALL. Multi-touch is way down the totem pole on that list. Jesusphone users compromise on essential features so that they can "twirl things around" and all that. This is way less of a compromise than that.

It's not like it ISN'T getting multi-touch ever, is it?

Sealover, you must stop writing in this threat! I checked again the threats about Aino, Satio, Yari and some others, and saw that your behaviour is the same everywhere! I can't understand how do you live on this world with such a pessimistic look about the things around you! I'm tired of reading your stupid posts, without any new information in them, only "that's horrible", "I don't like", "the lack of something is unbelievable" and so on! You flooded the whole thread with you opinion, trying to say that X10/Aino/Satio/Yari/X2 and others are disappointment and useless devices!

Sorry for the offtopic, you couldn't resist.

Here is another good topic in the Developer World - http://developer.sonyericsson.com/community/thread/50008

Thank you! This is exactly how I feel. Especially on the game factor. No buttons, no buy. And its also another reason why I hate touchscreen phones to an extent. The lack of a keyboard of sorts really puts me off, cause last time I checked phones have buttons. I'm of course going to have to get used to it as sooner or later the best phones will have touchscreen only but whatever. The point is that as Synn said there are features on the iPhone that are small and uneeded that compare to features on phones which surpass it by a mile.

I think some kids here if the phone eventually has 16M and multitouch ....they won't buy it ...

I am not.. i trust SE on that... but i am not calling you funny or sad.... cause i respect that..Sad is watching SE going from the 3rd global market position to 6th ..... THAT IS SAD!

In my opinion that's probably the best 8MP quality I've seen
No issues with too sharped edges like N86 which was the best 8MP before and best of all, where are all the noise?
EDIT
Ok the two first images could have been sharper.

Yea, the photos and the video are very good, there's no noise at all, but the camera can go better. I'm sure in that, and I know SE will make it even better. The details have to be improved. However, it'll beat the low-end cameras from Sony.

Yea, it's 480x800 at 28.754fps and 24bit ( 16 million ) colours.

About the first and the second photos - I think the problem in the quality there is not because of the software. Maybe it's in the glass in front of the lens. There is no lens-cover, that's why when we hold the phone in our hand, we make it durty with our finger prints, and if we don't clean them with something, the photo gets a little bit blurry or foggy.

The first pictures have been taken in the morning... in Sweden!
1h30m after the sunrise = very low light conditions and the weather was cloudy. It's a very good performance for a phone cell.

I agree. Rikard said that he will provide us with more photos and videos when the weather gets better!

Ok, let's make it clear - I checked the video with KMPlayer and get the following result:

Frame rate mode: Variable
Frame rate: 28.754 fps
Minimum frame rate: 19.231 fps
Maximum frame rate: 52.632 fps

Now you know.

Well you wish it has too or even better surround speakers like samsung... But as you see there are more disadvantages to say.. but i care only for basics like colors and multitouch

BTW i love my w995 speakers

The photos is quite good, and the low-light performance is quite awesome (at least for a CMOS phone camera and it's only 1hr30min after sunrise)... Or it has CCD?

The video could be better... The hardware support 1280x720@30fps video recording... I know WVGA is considered as default since it had nearly the same resolution with WVGA screens, but it would be nice if they had this 720p additional options...

I hope they are clever enough to make this phone to be the first Android handset with 720p recording, perhaps that is to ask for too much. I have my doubts though since they didn't mention anything in the announcement.

Posted by Tejstar
If this phone did HD video recording, they would have shouted it from the roof tops when it was first announced. Very, very unlikely that it will do 720p in my opinion.

Posted by Hiron
Snapdragon clearly support 720p.. Maybe some of us could ask this improvement in SE blogs or SE developer world forum.. Maybe they will hear us and add this at launch..

Or maybe they didn't want X10 to breaks Kurara's 720p gimmick? I thought most of you had seen the prototype of Kurara.. It stated "HD" in the back of it.. I can imagine the ads campaign: "Kurara: First phone in the world with HD video recording"..

So maybe they reserved 720p to Kurara and didn't give it to X10.. Just my speculation

Hiron

Posted by mediar
Another thing about the video recording - something makes me thing that the video resolution wll be 848x480, because the example we got is 640x480 active pixels plus the two black fields becomes 800x480. And the italian preview in youtube showed WVGA in the options menu.

EDIT: That's wrong, I just changed some of the options in my player, and the active pixels are 800x480. However, I rely on the last sentence.

hah guys, stop the complaining about software (hd recording, even 2.0). As long as the hardware is good you can mod it to your liking. At least I will

First thing I will do is change the blue colorscheme to black!

Posted by Hiron
@xphctoc,
I mean first SE phones

@motvikt
And it could be done easier since SE makes UX interface becomes open source.. Android is open source too..

Even closed-source like X1 WM had some WM6.5 cooked ROM in xda-developer

omg have you read the news ? http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=188214
This is what mobile-phones look like in 2010.... And you are still getting angry with me for saying about the low number of colors in x10's screen... That's why SE's 6th or 7th global market position.. I hope this time they learn.. so no more delays and give us what the hardware says..

sealover, that "article" if you want to call it that... was posted way back in august. First, it's mere speculation, not fact. It's a statistical study, again, not fact. The megapixel war will end at 12mp for cell phones. I believe somewhere someone said that SE will stop at 12mp and will continue improving other features instead.

SE is in its position because of poor decisions, no doubt. But their comeback devices are a force to be reckoned with. Much like the article you referred to, i speculate SE will regain marketshare in the next few years...

You're trying WAY too hard to bash and trash SE and its products. If you're not a fan, then you should look somewhere else. If there are features that you don't like on a phone, fine. YOu have a right to criticize it but once is enough! I for one don't want to see it 50+ times and I'm sure others will agree. Say your peace and be DONE. Let the rest of us discuss the merits of the phone that we WANT to purchase and use.

I have seen Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 been listed for 5515 SEK which is around 520 EUR, in one of the e-retailer I usually buy my mobile phones from.
That's slightly cheaper than expected

that's great news McKinley!! That's a reasonable price I think. I can do that
