Nice video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-Wx4EKca64

I used my post to express my opinion about Nokia.
@bider - nice find, I think Nexus One's accelerator is way too sensitive, I'd say too sensitive. And once again, X10 is really stylish.

@mediar
The N1 sensor seemd equally sensitive sensitive to me (IPhone was perhaps a tad less sensitive, but not by much).

My complain or se-dude's point? I already said my point. DOUBLE READ it.
If you still do not understand it, I explain it again. But please, do not bother me with this topic again. You are seeing it completely in a different way. I am not trying to debate about the advantages of the SE Timescape and Mediascape with you. I don't even know where you got that from. I should have not commented about it because it was not part of the point I was trying to make.
Here we go, so what if X10 got some of those features without updating to 2.1? As if it would make that much difference now especially that the more advanced Android version is out. That's all I meant.
-------------------------------
How I wish that X10 is able to record 720p video with continous auto-focus like Vivaz. Having this feature will show the processing prowess of Snapdragon platform. Too bad it seems that X10 will not get it.

It's called market segmentation. You don't put all your eggs in one basket. Each product needs one outstanding feature that would make it stand out from the rest of the models from the manufacturer.
Why do you think the Omnia HD isn't sporting the 12MP module from Pixon12? Or why the latter doesn't get the video capabilities from the former? Or why the Galaxy Spica gets neither, but Android?
There will never be one "Ultimate super device" from any manufacturer. Don't ever lose sleep on this notion.

I'm going to buy a white X10, no no wait I'm going to buy a black one instead.
But the white one looks super cool, so I should buy the white one.
But the black always looks good and never gets old fashioned
But the white one looks absolutely fascinating, I should buy the white one.
No no noooo......

It's a big Dilemma

Delayed until April if this is correct. Japan is supposedly be the first to get it:
http://www.pcworld.com/articl[....]tphone_to_launch_in_april.html
Is this really true?
Posted by dothan
sort of. The phone will come out the last week of March.
Posted by anders260
@dothan what is you source on this info?

"Our Xperia phone is the outcome of a successful global R&D effort, including our team in Tokyo that led the product development," said Bert Nordberg, president of Sony Ericsson, said at a Tokyo news conference. "DoCoMo will be our first customer globally to receive the phone."
I hope it's just a PR exercise to appeal to the Japanese market. I'm tired of waiting. I'm selling my Satio and I've resorted to using my old C905 which is about 2 years old.

...And what the hell is Q1 2010? They are doing the same thing as with the X1/Satio by not committing themselves which means there is still quite a bit of time to go. They are doing what they do best, ie, keep the interest alive until someone like HTC drops a better phone in December or January.
Sad and disappointing.
Oh boy!
I asked this on the day this phone was announced. When SE mentions an indefinite date it means the end of that quarter and it is beginning to look like that all over again.
This is hampering their competitive edge or what's left of it.

To clarify: Xperia X10 is still on track for shipment in late Q1. In Japan it will launch 1st of April. Other global customers might choose to sell it slightly earlier

So? Week 13 is exactly the end of march.

So if it starts shipping last week of March then it will be another week or two before it hits the stores.

i'm curious to see how the x10 performs in japan..gona keep an eye.
@goldenface. . Do you intend to buy the x10 then? And i bet, between now and it's launch, se announce another android handset lol.
Posted by glorfingal
argh ... too far away ... want it now
better wait though as I've had enough of v0.1 of SE's products ... !
Posted by goldenface
@jj03
Yeah, I have my heart set on the nice white version. I think the way they've implemented the Timescape and Mediascape is very clever, especially the way it draws media info from the Web at the same time. It looks light years away from S60 on my Satio.
Vivaz has just been announced and that's also scheduled for Q1 release as well so I'm not happy with the wait for the X10.
MWC might see other Androids surface but you can't keep on waiting for the next best device because the amount of time SE takes from announcement to shipping you'll be about 94 years of age before you finally get the phone you want.
Posted by sathurn
Ohhhh....I think I'll get depressed! I hate when I'm forced to wait!!

T-Mobile UK to get Sony Ericsson X10 and new Vivaz.
Good news! T-mobile shares its network with 3UK and their network is both large and lightning fast.

Yea, it's really fast, but there is a lag in the start-up animation. But it'll get fixed, I believe.
And another video review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRS8qd_gU7g . I don't know why but it's quite laggy on this video.

Posted by rss_ndrsn
No, we have not. It would actually be nice to have more other colors to choose from.
I noticed the bar at the top where the battery icon is and the slide-up menu bar did not change to a color that would match the backround. I hope SE change the color of those that will match the color of the selected background.

In my posts that contain features wish lists, I included the digital compass twice but no one corrected me that X10 has it. Thank you for telling me. Now, just few more features and I am sold.
If you look at the end of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeAfKLHdnqo that was posted earlier it looks like a compass is shown.

simply amazing!!! apparently the japanese were given the very latest version! We all know the japanese market is extremely difficult to succeed in, so it's obvious SE had to up their game and give the best to show off otherwise it would be dead before it even got there.
So at least we know what to expect. Simply amazing. I would love more colors as well. the Orange/yellow background looks sweet on the white model.
I can't wait!! End of march seems too far away....

How come the SO-01B does not support muti-touch?
Posted by moogoo
it's just not implemented. much like there is no multi-touch for nexus1 either. though android 2 does support it since a version of the droid has it i believe.
Posted by rss_ndrsn
^Sorry I used the word "support" instead of "implement." Since this is a Japanese version, shouldn't it have multi-touch feature like the Motorola Milestone and Motoroi?
Posted by se_dude
Milestone and mototroi are not available in japan. Motorola has littl or no influence in the japanese market.
Posted by mediar
In my opinion, the japanese and the european version of X10 will use the same firmware version, the onliest difference between them will be the support of the japanese alphabet in the first.

it's a hack.. just like someone will probably hack the x10 as well... hopefully SE will implement it in a future update.

Isnt the SE tablet due this MWC? that would be an icing in the cake.

Nexus One runs Android 2.1, X10 only 1.6 that doesn't support multitouch at all. How do you expect them to implement multitouch then? Half of this thread is about that. There will be no multitouch and there will be no more than 65000 colors. And unless an Android upgrade comes (not likely) this is not going to change.
