i know what HTC means and i will never buy an HTC... but i am not talking as sealover or esato member... How many customers are looking at the optics of the camera lenses.... I'am talking about better sales for SE..!
SE's phones have UNIQUE designs and x10 is the epitome of beauty! But when a customers see in specs ... ANDROID 1,6 and 65k vs 2.0 and 16M.... which do you think he will choose??

unfortunately most customers won't know the difference and as a result they will ask the sales person. The sales person will likely be uneducated and simply say that 2.0 is better and persuade the customer to HTC. Granted there are exceptions out there, but I think for the most part this is true. At least in the US.

This is exactly why I don't want ATT to get this phone. A subsidized price would be glorious, but not if we have to pay out the butt for data usage. yes, its not your computer but when you are out and about you want the full choice of entertainment (music, videos etc) that is available at home. I don't want to be restricted to some subset of that, especially when I'm travelling alot

I dont get any customers in at work and say, o i want a brighter screen with richer colours. i dont get some people here, we complain about battery life every day, but yet we want these battery sucking features?
and it seems some are too consumed in mobiles. i mean, theres only so much we can want/complain about etc etc, but the way some people carry on is as if they lose sleep at night over mobile phones! plenty of other more important things to fight for!

I don't know about you, but I currently have unlimited 3G data on my phone for $20/month on top of my voice plan. I'm guessing w/ an unlocked X10, I would still be able to use my current data plan without having to change anything even IF they were to get one and modify it. But, I guess time will tell. definitely don't want to be paying $75+ for a plan like iphone users!

HD recording is important for making short clips of sth you want to remember and see on your HD TV in the future and not on a 4 inches screen..And anyway.. having this choice you don't mean that you have to record in hd all the time...

So whats the point having 4 inches screen? Browsing facebook ???? Movies , tv series,videoclips .... all in divx format .. Subtitles is also an important feature if you don't speak english.. and i am tired all these years converting movies into mp4 format ...

Even if it has been confirmed officially (which it hasn't clearly) that there will be an upgrade to 2.0 it will take months after the release (if ever). Hell, it took 2 months for them to release a minor update for Satio without any new features. How long do you think it will take before they convert their signature apps to Android 2.0, put it in firmware and test everything together? By that time (May-June?) there will come a new device, possibly with hardware that we miss here too.
I want to believe there will be an update to 2.0 for X10, but I won't buy it before it's out, that's for sure.

Then shield it under the bright light of the sun just to have a better view? If TFT's wouldn't hamper me to use my device in any kind of lighting condition..then TFT it is.

16 million screen is already supported. its for SE to implement. All reviews have said that the screen is fantastic, why are you so bent on losing your battery?
As we mentioned, the display measures 4 inches and has native resolution of 480x854 pixels, just like the Motorola MILESTONE (DROID). The image quality is very good with really saturated colours.

Sorry, there's no question that it exists, the FCC have even approved it already - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/te[....]hone-granted-FCC-approval.html - have they done that for the X10?
Google have also given handsets out to many of their employees for testing - there are pictures and videos all over Twitter etc. All very viral, clever marketing really.
You have to forget this SE way of thinking, where nothing can come to market without an announcement of an announcement, an announcement, a product blog, and at least a six month wait while they build the thing - it's quite common for other companies not to announce anything until they're actually ready to ship.

I agree it looks a bit bland in the pics, but apparently it's "slimmer than the iPhone", and forget an update to 2.0 - this will have 2.1 out of the box. More importantly, it's going to have an almighty Google marketing push behind it, so frankly, the X10 will be left to the SE fans around here only - forget about the mass market. They just bought the Nexus One.
