I asked him about it We have to wait for our answers! He is making the video and the review right now

@mediar - You have the option to use vanilla Android or the Timescape application on the Xperia X10.

Sealover94

This X10 dialer on your post looks DISGUSTING!

Is this for real?

Posted by sealover94
Ok here are some of the answers to your questions a few hours before the video-review that Mr.Vlahakis gave me

> Price : 599 euros
> No radio
> No info about the MW600 yet
> Type of screen : LCD TFT
> Loud speaker volume is low
> Smooth touch response of the screen
> There is an ambient light sensor
> No SAR info yet
> Android 1.6 in his proto*

* This is NOT final

More answers to the video he is shooting right now and will be on youtube and http://www.techblog.gr in a few hours

What about battery lifetime?

Posted by mediar
I mean that the dialer in that photo is in the generic Android UI, but as we know has customized this part of android and it uses this UI - http://www.planete-nokia.com/virgile/X10/X10_24.jpg ( the left phone ). So I asked if the proto in the photo you posted is old with old FW.

Ask the person if X10 supports Ogg Vorbis music format for online radio.

Posted by SEaddict
@ sealover
Thanks

@mediar
Yes the dialer is in Android 1.6,
And on the white paper, X10 supports .ogg files

thx for the effort sealover

Some basics from the videos :

releasing date : mid-February (european market..interface language translation is ready)
plastic quality is good
sound level is low (he says you have to put your hand under the phone to hear it loud..)
speed as you can see is fantastic for a protype ..3 months before the releasing date!
R1AA042 the software edition and 1.6 Android

Thank you for the videos. I spotted that there is a bulgarian translation of the interface in the options menu. The speed is good, it still needs some optimizing. I'm satisfied.

A question - why when we press the middle button, that menu with "Timescape" and "Home" pops up?

So the lack of radio is solved, at least for me.

You can choose if you want the home button to go directly to the home screen ( or to timescape or any other home-replacement).

I really like the interface, except for the unlock screen, which everyone handling the phone seems to have problems with. But since its an Android phone, I guess its easy interchangeable whit something more usefull.

From the video, it looks like the backcover is of the same type of softer plastic as my old k800, which is probably the best built phone i have owned (if not the best overall phone).

I'm happy to see the speed has improved much since the announcement. I like to see how the scrolling in the timescape is very smooth and fast, perhaps they have to slow it down a bit.

this make me wonder why SE can't wait until they improve the speed before they announce the product. If they wait a little longer they don't have to show the slow X10.

Slow it down?

Scrolling speed is determined with your hands, of course if you swipe through it'll be fast, but i doubt that's the intended functionality.

The X10 will have Android 1.6 at launch but will get a 2.0 upgrade with a firmware update.

Posted by sealover94
photo and video-recording samples of X10 are coming soon on techblog.gr If you have any questions related ask here

backcover material is not the same.White X10's back is glossy and black X10's is more like c905 or w910 's back

@sealover94 thanks for the links.

To Sony Ericsson

Please just leave Android 2 alone just don't mess with it.

I have just seen a video of your attempts with mediascape and timescape! your just doing an X1 job on a very good OS you simply cannot afford another failure. Why are you doing this? you haven't a clue what your doing with SW, how many more times do you want to prove it?
As for telling us the finished interface will be "Snappier" how many times have we heard that for you?!

what's the problem with mediascape and timescape ? and what's the problem with X1 panels ? I love panels very much and to me it is very useful. to me panels never a failure.

if you don't like the scape...just don't use it. Customisation to the standard OS UI is good unless to those who like a boring stereotype interface.

doing an X1 job on a very good OS?? Are you kidding? The UX interface has NOTHING to do with the panels thing on the X1 because it's composed by 2 applications. UX philosophy is an attempt to put your contacts in center of your user experience. And I think they have done this time a very good job. If you aren't satisfied with UX you can disable the timescape and mediascape applications and only run the native 1.6android.

Guys, do you really believe that can pull this off? i do hope so...

I think Satio's camera UI is betterthan X10's.

Posted by kewsvnet
kinda annoyed to hear about satio and aino being pulled from stores...
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_[....]just_after_satio-news-1286.php

hope get it right with X10

also wondering does anyone know about the battery life figures for X10???? thats a very important thing for me and have always had very good batt life!!

i currently have htc hero...and batt life sux!! it cant survive without charging it everyday!! it uses a Qualcomm MSM 7200A 528 MHz processor and has a Li-Ion 1350 mAh battery.....compared to the X10 which has a Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor and a Li-Po 1500 mAh battery....does anyone know how the power consumption of snapdragon compares to the 7200A processors!!

The software has not been optimized yet so I think it's too early to talk about battery life.

yeah i guess you are right....just really want to give batt life a high priority!!!

ps: would like to see divx coming to the X10...samsung galaxy spica has it....so i m sure some developers could port it over...and the X10 def has the processing power to handle it!

I say a big big vote of thanks to sealover who has posted much new information and has attempted to raise genuine queries/potential weaknesses despite being frequently berated by a number of posters on this thread who have contributed nothing like the quality or quantity he has shown to us other than slavish addiction and attempting to shout down genuine discussion and enquiry.

Yep i must agree that Sealover94 have posted some very good stuff recently!

Thank you all of you guys for your support !!
I hope X10 will be in 3 months for now the best choice for all of us..

I totaly agree.

Looks like X10 might be the best 8 megapxl shooter from semc uptil now, great to see.
But hard to compare since the dumbass who took these pictures, did use them at different angles, the light conditions are very different, strange move imo.

Call a dumbass a guy who responded to sea's questions (OUR QUESTIONS) in fact?
He didn't even made a comparison between these phones cameras, the pics are together by sealover's amability to post them so that we have a view on how the cameras act.
No comparison article is on his site, so no head to head pics were taken.......

So long the X10 is miles better.

And dude...get your fact b4 posting s*it talk...do some real talk

I think that the photo quality is acceptable in most cases (this is a smartphone not a camera phone) and only "macro-mode" seems blurry but i am sure they will fix this.
Video recording is 7/10 at this moment but with 1ghz CPU there is more to see

Listen, i did get the impression that it indeed was a comparison, that's the reason behind the dumbass statement, so hold your horses "mate".
The picture looks nice, that's the important thing.
I did just applaud sealover for his effort lately, as he deserved it.
Let's get back on topic.
