Good for you!

No mention if it's tri-band... or if it has e-mail... or full Outlook compatibility. Does it work with Macs?

How much will it cost? Considering the current B&W 8910 costs almost as much as the P800.

I prefer the Neonode N1.

sorry anuj, but very typical of nokia, it still isn't a tri-band phone, still uses an old wap browser, (ver 1.2.1 vs 2.0 for t68i), no polyphonic tones, and of course, there is that slide that tends to cause all sorts of problems.

except for the titanium case, it really isn't very cutting edge at all. just looks it. but then again, nokia knows its customers very well...

just be patient and wait for the t68 successor

Posted by Daredevil
that's the problem. wait for the T68i sucessor?? how long have we waited for the P800? nokia seems to know when they are bringing their phones out, SE doesn't!!

if you are needing a new phone then why should wait for a phone that haven't been seen yet?? i understand people who goes back to nokia!

Posted by jplacson
Cool!!! so the 8910i is out already!!! Great news for you guys then!!!

I'd buy the 8910i the minute it comes out if I were you!!!

Posted by Lusipher
I think the 8910i looks great...
(-weight)

Posted by mariolouis
i guess you're right

Posted by senninha
maybe so, but what's the point of replacing a phone with a new one with less functions? 8910i may have java, but t68 can do everything else the nokia can and more. besides tri-band is much more important i think.

unless it's just changing a phone for the sake of it...

Posted by Cytech

sure... it looks great.... but the front piece you open with a sidebutton shoots out very hard... wonder how long it will take before that will malfunction?

Posted by jplacson
BUT IT HAS A 12-bit SCREEN!!! The T68i doesn't have a 12-bit screen!!! And the 8910i is made of titanium!!! The T68i isn't!!! The pop-up feature doesn't POP up...it 'glides' up very slowly....takes about 6 months before the mechanism starts rattling though.

The 8910i is an AMAZING phone!!!! It's the BEST phone out on the market today!!!! It has everything you'd ever want on a mobile phone!!!! And it's so cheap!!!! Why can't SE make phones as affordable as Nokia?!???!

Posted by Anuj
coz its a sony ! lol

wow... I'm impressed so that does mean Nokia has the possibility to change things on those 8910 I have tested the pop up sounded almost as a gunshot and the front piece shot out quite fast...

Posted by Daredevil
well it ain't the BEST phone around but it's good !! and it ain't that cheap either! and it costs more than i paid for my P800 here in our country!!

Posted by Anuj
Well seriously it will be a contender to steel sales from the t68i and even though its not tri-band it has java which the t68i doesn't ! If it has not got polyphonic tones who cares the t68i does not either ! heres the full spec:
Downloadable personal applications via Java™ technology
MMS (Multimedia Messaging) with compatible devices
Wallpaper: Full screen color image
Bluetooth
WAP 1.2.1 Browser
Screen saver: Digital clock
Clock and alarm clock
Calculator
Currency converter from idle mode
Stopwatch
To-do list
Countdown timer
E-mail
Infrared

there's a lot of phone outthere who are selling themselves better than the t68i or T300 !!

Posted by jibuti
Well, I would save those exclamations 4 some other time...It costs 1000 Euros, and I do not really need Titanium...
Snobbish crap.

Posted by jonny05
Everybody keeps saying how cool the titanium case is but with the 8910 this reduced reception quality when buying a phone the most important thing above others features is that call quality is better than the last one. Nokia continue to make half arsed attempts at making nice looking phones that fool the people that buy them in this case fucking posers. Wake up people

Posted by GOwin
sounds good, but we'll have to wait and see. and for a phone that's going to turn two soon, other manufacturers should really come out with phones having better specs

Posted by jplacson
But that's cheap considering all the wonderful features of the 8910i!!! How does Nokia come up with such great technology?!?!?! They're so advanced & innovative!!!! And their handsets are so affordable!!!

Posted by tycho
I think it is brilliant when people still compare new Nokias to a year and a half old Ericsson phone. I had all these features a year and a half ago and the Nokia users are just getting them!!

Posted by Anuj
I had the same around a year back aswell.....good point....but still a good reason to move away from the now bland t68i

Posted by juming
I already try the prototype but so far it is not too good, screen was too dark, and button too small and its far worst compared with t68i and its do not have pop3 email client.

Posted by Anuj
What e-mail has it got then?

[ This Message was edited by: Anuj on 2003-01-27 12:03 ]

Posted by jplacson
No email... but who cares??? It's got that cool pop-up action thing! And it's made of titanium!!! 8910i rulez!!!

Posted by Anuj
It has got e-mail its on the Nokia website !

Posted by mailliw_17
Buy 1, no regrets..

@jbuti

whats with the age question? i have both the t68 and 8910i and yes the t68i is better. 8910 is a good phone but its not a tri band so really which is better is subjective. for me t68 is better

Posted by jibuti
I am just pissed off with imbecil "nokia (or xy.. ) rulez!" comments, especially when I read similar on our local-net forum...
So when analize age (& caracter) of senders, I realise it is just a bunch of black-headed-primary-school-attendants, always giving wrong reasons why is phone "gooood or baaaad...".Like "it is titanium !..."
Fine by me, just shut up then and by yourself a Vertu,...

I think Lazarini can back me up...

That is all.

Posted by reddcer
I think T68i has finally found his match in N8910i!

Posted by totings
A match? Yeah, after almost a year and a half

Posted by Anuj
Well lets see SE do something about it huh !

Posted by juming
Ok, Email application on 8910i is similar with on 6310i which is SMS to Email that limited to 160 characters of SMS, also it should be supported by operator, so if your operator not support then you cannot send email, remember just send, not receive, for receive you need to subscribe WAP based email.

What I'm complaining about 8910i is not useable keypad which is very small in my finger also it's not illuminated like 8910, also for the screen, what you see in picture is artist picture mean the real world screen is not like that, it's about 70% darker, and I know that Nokia will fix this before mass production.

But my conclusion, if you want to show that you're rich man then buy this one or Vertu (the best for showing that you are very rich ) but in term functionality and technology t68i still lead compared with 8910i.

And for the price some people believe that price will be comparable with 8910 black limited edition now.

Posted by Anuj
Price is not an issue for buyers of the t68i its an upmarket product not a 3310 so 8910i is gonna be worth it

Posted by andrew99
@anuj

Price not an issue for T68i buyers... umm well no, as in the UK it is FREE!!!

As for anyone who will buy the 8910i, as long as they are aware that the poor suckers who paid the same money 6 months earlier to get a non-colour 8910 got screwed by nokia and it'll probably happen to them.... they should go for it. A fool and his moeny are soon parted....

Posted by Anuj
It wasn't free when I got it ! and even now its free only on contracts of £25 a month or more ! so it is expensive ! duhh

Posted by iyiinsan
It'll probably kill the buyer, too because they'll be starvin' !!! I wouldn't pay that much for a phone. The most amount I have paid is 250 $ when I bought my 68i... I payed only 150 $'s for my 8890 and sold it for 200 $!!!
The reasen is a friend was mugged and he kept talking about buying an expensive phone is a stupid thing to do... So I don't anymore...

Posted by mk5808775
...gees... I don't really give a damn thing if the phone's made of titanium or not... unless I want to beat the crap out of someone with it. Mwahhaha...
Anyways! The 8910i like phone have always been GODDAMN expensive around here, and I don't really see any features which should make it as expensive as a P800, although it can do just as much as a T68i... kinda dumb, eh?

Of course, you can still kill someone with it, without breaking your phone... great feature! Wow!!

Posted by 619
ill get a 5110 instead.

Posted by macdid
nokia..always nokia
what's so good 'bout it?
it's geeting ugly and ugglier
it's geeting sux and suxier
it's goin from bad to worst
that's y they came out with game cage, they knew they're finished

Posted by jack078
same situation when 8810/8890 first came out. it cost like 800 us compare 8210 had exactly same features cost 300 us. only the case different, but still tons of ppl brought it and hold it with proud...... cuz they thought the higher price, the better quality... they thought!!! trust me mates.... there would be many ppl holding a so damn expensive 8910i and think they had the best phone on earth just because its titanium.

Posted by gadgetboytom
Its a shit phone

1 buttons are too small
2 no camera support (lol)
3 wap 1.21 (Come on!!!)
4 no sync ml
5 its a 3510i with
6 its a nokia so the software wont work for 6 months
7 how do you change the battery?
8 mms support is poor and not up to standard
9 no memory

Posted by ppcrockar
Also keep in mind that the T68i is really cheap now. In Sweden it costs about 350 Euros without a contract.

Posted by ynohtna
Titanium.titanium.titanium.so what if u have an 8910i when the spring mechanism gets broken?that is the weakest point of the phone.@jlacsonIt seems your a nokia lover.y dont you settle for the VERTU,a subsidiary of nokia.By the way,the phone is very \"cheap\".U$ 20,000 for the platinum phone.Much lower for the gold and stainless steel model.pls check threegmobile.net about the Vertu and complete comparison btwn nokia and se.SE has won the test when it comes to cam images and i completely agree.

Posted by senninha
oohh, i think jplacson is gonna be poppin' mad that u guys think he's a nokia lover!!! i think he was just being really sarcastic! his reply should be quite an amusing one!
