I hope so as well. Though people who have reviewed and got final products have green ones so damn.

Nice to see the Torch and operable touch-screen web browser on the Aino, only thing I want to know is whether you can fast forward through a track by moving the progress bar with your finger. It's large enough to do it but I honestly don't know if they have :-/

Posted by se_dude
^^You can do everything as in a touchscreen phone when the slider is closed.

Posted by bronxdude
I'm now sold. Aino you got me!

What do you mean by that? Would that basically mean that you can fast forward through music using the progress bar?

I use this feature all the time for DJ Sets on my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Oh yeah, I had a Sony Walkman S Series for a short period of time, is the Clear Bass 3 levels like on the Walkman?

Posted by se_dude
yep. You can all right.

Posted by goldenface
This phone is rockin. Really can't wait to get it now after reading that last review.

Aino Chinese review, followed by photo comparison with Omnia:

The camera sensor looks like the same one from C901, very nice!!~

You know, despite the difference of 3 megapixels.

i was thinking... the limited 'touch' control on the phone. id say it is a software limitation, not a hardware one. would people agree?

since you are able to operate the media side of things, plus internet browsing, and also answering phone calls and what not, surely the whole UI could be navigated via touch?

possibilities of modding to allow full touch perhaps??

Maybe a firmware upgrade down the line to allow it?

But I doubt it

since opera mini 5 can be operated through touch on the aino, then that'd mean that any aptly programmed touch-enabled 3rd party software would also work on the aino..great news!

Posted by hihihans
It's getting better and better. Hihi new topic: tutorial how to remove your keypad.

A question - if Opera Mini 5 installs as in a touch-enabled phone in Aino, can we browse in internet, while the phone is closed or this will bring the standby clock and the new media menu?

Its available closed as well. I remember seeing pics of it closed so yeah. Anyway the W995 was 450 over here. Will the Aino be around that price range at all? If it is and in a year when my K800 will be brutally battered and all from me using it, i kid, it should be like round 400 correct? Cause then well this could be mine. Unless of course SE innovates/

Posted by mediar
Another question - in W910 I can listen to one song, press back several times, go to another song and add it to queue. But can this happen in the new media menu?

A very nice Aino Review with very nice pics:

Definitely Aino don't have the same sensor of W995... (as mentioned in this review)

Posted by mediar
Is it better or worse?

As far as remembered from the review, it was stated that aino's camera performance is similar to W995 and not as good as C905.

Posted by hgautam
From the Review: "In Aino used 8.1 megapixel
module, exactly the same as in
the XPERIA X2 and W995,
except that the software can be
a little different. The camera, of
course, differs from
fotoflagmana C905, but still
gives very good results, I am
quite fit, and the majority of
users like them."

Thanks for posting hgautam. Great review!

He said he doesn't see why anyone would choose to watch video on Aino when they could watch it on a full sized LCD flatscreen. Well it's much harder to carry your lcd TV with you when you go on holiday.

He did say the sound recording was really good, which is a big plus.

Posted by idumbakumar
but X2 picture quality is much better than w995 as per GSM arena review no fringing and accurate colors, less noisea and good details. where as w995 suffers with purple fringing and lost details with noise.
i don't know the fringing story of aino.

You know what - I think that this picture - http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/2171/operau.jpg shows the BlackBerry version. Look why - http://www.opera.com/bitmaps/[....]reenshots/om5-touch-keypad.jpg

Posted by drinki
All touch enabled handsets have the same Opera UI, I should know, I have G900.

Posted by mediar
So if your phone is touch enabled, the jar file installs with one interface and if it's not - the normal interface. With other words - there are two interfaces in the jar file?

Posted by drinki
Visit the address m.opera.com/next using your phone’s default Web browser and Opera will detect your phone brand and type and will install a .jar file. Very simple. Enjoy

i'm curious though, i hope anyone can answer this. if you're using opera mini touch, would you be able to do that with the keypad closed?

Posted by 10123
I never thought i would say this but, the aino is an intresting device which i quite like, the obvious put off is the limeted touch but beside that, there is.
-Nice touch media player, could be a bit annoying though having to scroll sideways so no quick scrolling.
-Nice camera
-Drag PS3 stuff of it
-Touch internet
-Supplied memory card
-Possibility of touch ui apps
BUT...
-Have to have the phone slided up to use PS3 thing which would be extremeley annoying cos you can only use it sideways
-Limeted touch ui

Anyway i would be intrested if there were apps that were touch (and nice ones ) screen, and touch sensitive games, my main concern is limeted choice of apps and game due to the weird screen resolution.

Edit: Just seen the price £400, dont think so, i think se are living in cloud land as there obviously not a recession in SE pricing policy. Id rather have a HTC Hero at least its a long term investment.

I was at a shop today and they said ; Satio next week, Aino the week after.
But the "comming soon star" on the site is gone.

Posted by mediar
I don't think it's gone. Or at least not in Bulgaria's site, UK's site and Global's site.

Posted by mediar
As far as I know, Opera Mini can't use the internet through WiFi. Is this fixed in Aino with Opera Mini 5?

Posted by bodeh6
I know you can use Opera Mini on WiFi on Blackberry. By bro has a BB8900 and Opera Mini has an option in the settings for using WiFi.

Posted by mediar
I mean in Sony Ericsson phones.

Posted by JohnyCar
Nice phone but too big.

the BB ? Aino is so sweet.

Look:

Have Sony Ericsson changed their mind and made Aino fully touch, or this is another confusion? I think it's the second option.

Confusion. There is no all touch firmware coming up for it which is a load of bullshit. Hopefully though I'm mistaken and it all goes swell.
