The Equaliser doesn't display in the Media Menu, but it is in there, you have to slide the phone open and go to the Walkman App instead

I knew there had to one. How do you know? If I may ask.

I officially proclaim Aino as a complete phone, a unique feature phone with the most extensive touch UI for the first time. After owning a smartphone I've always felt feature phones suit me better being simple and easy to use but lacking in navigational options. Now Aino has touch input. But I still maintain it would sell better if web and mesaging (unlike Z558i's sluggish input which shouldn't have been incorporated in the first place) has touch interface as well

I'm looking forward to its appearance. It still has clear bass and clear stereo but I admit I'll miss the equaliser if it's confirmed that it won't be present in the final version. Hopefully it will be 'tweakable' But from above it looks like it is.

I noticed the 'media servers' option in the 'small media menu' which means the phone will be able to access content from the laptop or PS3 which is connected to your home network so you can take the phone to bed or to the garden and access your music etc, wirelessly - saving on your memory card space. This option isn't available on the C905 so its a nice addition.

What will be the launching price of Aino?

Posted by sotam
@buntoo
I read in some blogs the price will be around 400 usd....

Eldars impressions are out and..................... its postive

Conclusion
"Sony Ericsson Aino appears on the market in early fall, for the price of - 20-23 thousand rubles. In the case of the SE W995, knowing the final price, I am not very pleased. But in this case it is justified. On the one hand, we have quite an unusual market situation for this phone. Hard to pick a competitor. On the other hand, we have a typical niche model of SE, ie, with a number of unusual pieces, the phone makes use of a really nice display. Large display, design, a special multimedia menu, an expanded set of delivery, good quality photo and especially good quality video video, Aino works with the PS3, including the feature of Wi-Fi, the use of navigation software. All this allows me to to say a simple thing. All the gentlemen amateurs of brands, I recommend viewing the model very closely. Aino is worth its money. It is clear that if you look at the price, then pick up a competitor will be simple ... or complex? Indeed, in addition to features and prices and there is something else. What is it - to say no. Maybe the magic mark? About that many of us, the fans had forgotten."

Although i do share some of his concerns

The sample photos look very clean and clear, looks very appealing.

Eldar giving Aino a positive review?

Trust eldar in writing a positive review.

Quite unpleasant with Aino after I known pricing place under my w995 (getting in early OCT)
better software (flash 3 netfront 3.5) almost same features and bigger screen and plus of desk stand and bluetooth headset,

only advantage w995 better materials using more aluminum than rubber-plastic like Aino. And 3.5 mm but have/haven't doesn't seem bother me much.

w995 is easier to get up torch function (very important to me) with direction key shortcuts in front while Aino is under the screen

and about weight I feel w995 comfortable and compact package at 113 grams while Aino is heavier 21 grams I afraid this will effect when come into pocket matter too.

just tough decision to me again DAMN IT!

US$400 only??
R u sure?

Posted by bronxdude
if $400 usd, then yes, i'll buy 1 ASAP

Posted by mediar
If it's only 400$, which means 600bgl, I'll wait half an year to fall to 500bgl and buy it. My W910 was 430bgl and if I buy a new battery, new 100bgl and it will be gold phone! It's better to replace it with Aino. However, I don't believe it'll be so cheap.

I have a question - how does the shake control works in Aino - which button do we need to press and shake the phone? And is there shake control in the new media menu?

Aino is constantly having updates and stuff, I quite like the phone and something that I noticed was the fantastic sound. A fellow Esatonian (thanks for the PM) has given me a possible reason as to why it sounds better than the W995. Also good stuff with regards to video [QVGA, VGA and nHD].

Aino seems to be getting better and better.

I must say it won't any disappointed except of lacks full touch and must be always open slider in order to operates the phone properly (quite too long IMO).

Still struggle to find out what will suit my life between w995 and AINO?

Oh hell!

Posted by hihihans
Good to hear and see that it's so d*mn good. Pity that it's still not on pre-sale here, Satio is, no pricing yet.

Posted by HxH
Price out there

all sim-free

satio is around 550 euros (pre-orderer will take big complimentary)
aino is around 370 euros (around 10% chaeper than w995 and AINO is rich of complimentary)
yari is around 280 euros

Where did you get those prices from? The Aino is a bargain as far as I am concerned, I paid that much for my 5800 XpressMusic back in March (In AU$ that is)

Posted by HxH
5800 XM is cheap like sh!t here open-price around YARI higher around 5%, for now it cheaper YARI open-price 10%.

Pricing here is out before around 2 months.

Preorder prices in Sweden

Satio: ~635 EUR
Aino: ~ 530 EUR
Yari: ~330 EUR

Posted by hihihans
Thats much more than inThailand. Who's wrong? I fear the answer, but I keep hope.

Posted by Platia1
Hmm, that price seems more realistic but I wouldn't buy one for that price, I'd wait until it dropped to the previous price posted

Posted by Pierke
I ordered the satio for 400 euro in the Netherlands. Can't order the aino yet...

Swedens prices are usually a lot higher than normal are they not? would be best buying from Hong Kong, usually cheapest!

Don't think so. AT least not when it comes to Sony Ericsson phones. For instance comparing prices for W995 in some countries, the difference is not that big despite that we have one of the highest VATs here (around 25%).

Sweden : W995 for 403 EUR
Denmark: W995 for 337 EUR
Germany: W995 for 316 EUR
France: W995 for 400 EUR

At same time W995 in some countries can be as high as 439 EUR (think Portugal may be one of those country).

Given or taken a couple of EUR, I think the Swedish prices are pretty much what one could expect in most countries excluding some extreme exceptions like Thailand.

Well, we will soon find out what is correct.

w995 wins EISA award:

and quite rightly so, it sounds fantastic!

And some say Aino is even better

Posted by mediar
Does Aino support WiFi 802.11g or only 802.11b? And does the new media menu support Shake Control?

New preorder prices for Satio, Aino and Yari in Sweden:

Satio: ~ 565 (previously 635) EUR
Aino: ~ 415 (previously 530) EUR
Yari: ~ 270 (previously 330) EUR

Posted by hihihans
Ok Sold send me one.

Posted by Platia1
Thats not a bad price, lets see if it stays there once Nokia announce their new devices this week.

Hopefully Australia doesn't get a price hike over the rest of the world.

Introducing Aino – The Mobile Phone With Remote Play

Posted by hihihans
Still Early October ! Still Beautiful ! total excess to PS3 ! Shame I don't have one. But I'm sure someone will make an app to make it work with PC, Mac?

Posted by goldenface
From the blog in the link above

Big_Jimmy99 posted: Where i work (3UK) we had the SE rep in who said something about the 3 network getting a phone with Remote Play on, cant remember if it was this phone or not, but if 3 do get it, it will be the only network which would allow it over 3G/HSDPA connection

Strange that operators should restrict such an important feature to Wi Fi. Can anyone confirm this? If the feature IS restricted then I'm hoping it can be restored by debranding the phone.

Yes, still beautiful.

Hi (a carrier in The Netherlands) stated it worth €393 at their pre order, though you can only pre-order it on contract. Satio is €430 according to them (was €600).

Posted by hihihans
I hope I can find a spare hour to visit belcompany (shop that sells unbranded) tomorow. I dont care about network, except T-Mobile. I know I want Aino.

Posted by domipost
BelCompany doesn't know anything about Aino, I think. I know them verry well and i visit them regular. But who knows
