R1 firmware are older than R7 ...

I finally got the new firmware on my phone, have to say there is definitely a welcome speed boost especially when the phone is searching for media

Noticing a few subtle changes here and there, not a bad upgrade I think

My Remote Play also works via 3G now

I had this same issue.
Install BOLT browser and use the built in configuration tool to set up video streaming.
Also, make sure that the streaming settings under connections is configured properly.

Posted by hihihans
I thought I'll try and see what happens if I reinstall FW.
Now I have 1223-3004 R1BA049

Posted by mallaccra
you should update to the latest FW, there will be a slight increase in speed/response time especially on the "touch screen" functions and as mentioned by Platia1 not a bad upgrade though

Posted by hihihans
I hoped I'd get a new FW. I still get the message that I have latest FW. thats why I tried. :@ and, I don't want to pay to do it with Davinci.

When you receive a call the ringtones are synchronised or it has a gap of 3 secs like on the Satio?

Posted by Fredrix
When using the Aino as a 3G modem through BT to my laptop, it keeps disconnecting after a short time ( about 30 sec ).
This was never a problem om my previous C902.
Hope this will be solved in a future FW.

Have R7AA071 installed...

good news, thinks.

It might also be a hiccup from your network provider as you might experience the same problem with your usb cable, happened to me before.

Well my Aino's just gone bust, touchscren is completely non-reponsive in absolutely every way

Restarts, Resets, Repairs are not fixing it

Can't believe my first experience with a company apart from Nokia is ending like this...

Posted by mallaccra
owh sorry to hear that pal, probably it's a fw issue, try SEUS or if it still under warranty just change to a new one...

Posted by hihihans
@Platia my touchscreen stops sometimes too, but it's always fixed with a restart.

Yeah it's under warranty, I will have to take it back. SEUS isn't helping at all.

Terrible, terrible time to break though. Right near Christmas. If it had broken 2 weeks earlier I could have taken it back under ELF (Early Life Failure) and have it replaced on the spot but I don't know how long I will have to wait now...

Yeah Restarts normally fixed it, but it an't helping now

Does the touch screen work in the service menu?

I have no idea how it's meant to work, but I've tapped everywhere and it doesn't respond

I've also found that the backlight doesn't turn off when the phone is slid shut, which kills battery life

Very unimpressed :-/

Yeah I've gone in the touch menu and tapped in the touch test but nothing seems to respond

It's completely broken

I don't know whether it's a hardware or a software problem, but considering the amount of things I've done on the software side to try and fix it I'm leaning on Hardware. Hopefully I can get it resolved quickly after Christmas but Sony Ericsson service here doesn't have the best reputation

Posted by kaiba
Its so sad to hear that, specially for a guy like me who are wating to get his own Aino, bro Platia1 please let us know as soon as u got it fixed

Posted by hihihans
@Platia. That sounds like a broken cable. I hope will fix this soon for you.

Posted by kaiba
To me its a fault in some IC, i have another friend who face exactly that same problem, and he still don't know what to do yet.

No, actually he live in iraq, thats where i live, and here we don't have warranty for hardware, the warranty is limited for FW only, thats why am about to change my mind and might take the satio instead.
he got to leave the slide open inorder to make the light goes off, that SUCKS!!.

Aino is fun, even more than satio (in my opinion) but this problem is the only thing that force me not to buy the aino .

That sounds exactly like the problem I have, I have to keep my phone open to ensure the battery lasts longer then 12 hours :-/

try to email sony ericsson, ask for their advice and of course make some noise....
imo you deserve a replacement or a free repair for your set if it is still under warranty

I am seduced by the Aino while I have a Satio but I have some questions:
-Ringtones are louder than Satio?
-Ringtones begin when vibration begin or there is a gap like in Satio?
-Can you use the bluetooth earphones that came bundled with a bluetooth mp3 player like Samsung P3?
-Can you use your own earphones on the bluetooth receiver?

Posted by hihihans
Don't know if the ring is louder or starts immediate, but you can hook your BTheadset to any BTplayer and use your own earplugs.

Posted by hihihans
Tested it. Aino starts to ring immediately with vibration, no delay!

I want to return to A2 via Aino after the s60v5 of the Satio
But now that I want to sell my Satio I saw that its price droped about 250$
- Anyway does the Aino screen shows missed calls, missed sms and clock when the screen is off?
- The picture quality of the wallpapers is a little bit better than classic 240x320 or way better?
I will not wait for an X10 after paying 800$ on a phone that cost now 550$ just 2 months after

Posted by mallaccra
yes the Aino will show missed calls, sms and the clock on the screen (slider closed). about the wallpaper quality i would say it's more vivid and clearer on Aino

Posted by kaiba
so many ppl want to switch back to A2, i missed the speedy browsing of my old w900i, now after i bought the w960 (symbian UIQ) two years ago i feel like i will never ever use any symbian-based OS.

anyways i've seen both the satio and aino and tested the sound, aino is 30% louder, even the sound is deeper due to higher bass.

note that when the phone ring when u recieve a call is also much louder than when u listen to MP3s with the media player.

Posted by hihihans
Welcome back to A2 and the Java clan. (still no update for me.) I touch'n'keys!

Posted by vegetaleb
This Aino looks like a winner but why the reviews are not really friendly with it?
noob aino question: Is the A2uploader close to support the Aino?
Satio is 12mp but hey! 2mb per photo? a W995 8mp can give 3.5mb
The Aino camera looks even better than C905

Posted by kaiba
Thats because of the half TS, which i really don't care about, i know that the touch screen is kinda ... futuristic feature and all, but not for me and thats the main reason why i want to replace my w960.

man i want to feel how the buttons pressed under my finger tip while in TS-based phone u won't know that u pressed on the screen correctly unless the phone respond which may take some time and that sucks )

Posted by mallaccra
the little complained are merely about the touch screen minimal functions (slider closed) of which most of the functions on Aino can only be accessed while the slider/phone is open and currently A2uploader does not support Aino.

overall Aino is packed with all the good things with solid build quality.....sound and vision set free

Posted by vegetaleb
How large is a typical photo taken with the Aino in mb?

Posted by mallaccra
generally, shots taken at full hd will give you the picture size of 3264X1836 and the file size is 2018KB (2mb or slightly more but sometimes less depending on the subject distant)

Yet another friend who face the problem of the aino (non-sensetive touch screen & back light doesn't go down)

i was about to get a white aino next week but i just canceled the request
all i want to know is whether it is a HW problem or SW.

Posted by mallaccra
i have not encounter such problems it could be either or, i could not confirm on that...

well, realistically and practically all handphones will have some sort of problem(s) because they are man made nothing is perfect regardless whatever brands and models

Even SATIO is quite good itself but NIGHTMARE symbian running is very suck, I have to agreed with him.

Posted by hihihans
@kaiba. Do you get full warrenty in Iraq? If you do, get Aino. If you don't, I understand your hesitation. Remember that every brand has it's problems and every model has it's weak points. 2nd is that at forums only the faulty ones are discussed, there are thousands of Aino's sold that work without a problem. I knew about freezing K850 but bought it anyway and never had a BROD in 2 years. I used, abused and modded it as far as possible. I'm about to do the same with my Aino, though i'm very pleased with it as it is. Good luck with your choice, think about it twice, it's a lot of money.

Posted by kaiba
@hihihan, if i get full HW warrenty then it won't be a problem for me, but actually no warrenty on HW in iraq coz there is no service center in here (that sucks ) warrenty applied for FW only, anyways i've canceled the request for my aino but still there is a chance that i change my mind .

i was woundering how much does the aino cost in your country? (asking all of you).
