Jabra Problems

Well, after searching around I found the Jabra headset for $99. Upon charging the unit I have found that the reception is just horrible. I get static when the phone is in my pocket and dropped connections when my phone is in my backpack or 10 feet or so away from me (even in line of sight).

Before the Jabra, I returned a bluetooth headset from TecnoBlue. The TecnoBlue Sapphire was really uncomfortable and did not fit on my ear all that well (felt like it would fall off... and it did). However, I could use it, never any static when my phone was on my body, and not a dropout because of the headset.

I then went by the AT&T store and checked out another headset (Motorola?) that was a small puck. The reception seemed to match that of the TecnoBlue.

So, I can make the Jabra drop connection by simply cupping my T68i in my hands and placing it behind my back (the other headsets did not have this troubble).

The question I have is this: Is this headset faulty? Do I return it? Or just grab that Motorola even if it is a bit more money.

Currently, $100 is my goal to spend. I can get the one from AT&T for a discount at $139 with a coupon I have. Bluespoon looks nifty, but $300... really now.

Advice?

Thanks!

Seems to be a faulty unit. I use a Jabra BT-200 and works fine. I had the same problem with my previous SE HBH-30, and i decided to change it for the Jabra. I guess it's a question of luck. Try taking your headset where you bought it and try to do a test with another Jabra Unit. You could also trying to do the pairing proccess again.

i'm very happy with the range of my bt200 and t68i. i can walk all around my flat leaving the phone in the center room. it works through the walls without direct line of sight with only occasional static.

the only time i noticed problems was when i pushed the distance to the limit (from one corner of the flat to another) or the battery on my phone and/or bt200 was low.

you could have had a faulty unit, but battery charge matters too.
