Post here one thing you realised (good or bad) which you noticed after you'd got the phone, does not matter how late it is. Lets try and create a big list

I noticed the K850i's touch buttons are glow-in-the-dark which is pretty cool.

I can never live and leave without a cellphone. haha!

That the W900 is a brick.

That the K850 was a bad buy and that I should have gone for the W910

That the W910 could have been a really good phone.

That the C902's screen looks really small when using the camera and that actually the camera is naff, and it is impossible to get the back cover off, I had to use a knife.

After I got my phones (I count all of them from the first to last one) I learnt these things:

- it should be
- it makes my life easier
- it makes great entertainment tool
- it uses as mp3 player, camera, internet access and etc...

those are the great and good things...

but the bad thing is:

- when I don't have my phone with me, the pocket feels empty...

hahahahaha

I learnt the K850i is the worst Sony Ericsson phone I've ever has the displeasure to own.
After 5 K850i's, Orange learnt I didn't like the phone and sent me a C902 which was far better, a week later I swapped that for a C905 and I'm in love!

K850
I learnt K850i was the best SE phone but had too much bugs

K750
I learnt how to take good pics with a camera phone, something I though was impossible coming from a K700

W800
I learnt i dont like Orange and white combination

K790
I learnt how important is a xenon flash on a camera phone.

W810
I learnt no matter how many SE phone comes out this the best of all

N95
I learnt i didnt like Symbian and Bulky phones

iPhone
I learnt not matter how much you dont like a phone (or brand) you have to try it before say you dont like it.

I learnt that no matter how you look at it the W900 was s last realy good phone, the rest are either average or just terrible, and that Symbian S60 is actualy an amazing OS and platform, just hated by those who are clueless on how to use it. they still call it slow, its only as slow as the numpty using it.

I'm really attracted to K850i when I first saw it in the newspaper, then I bought it.
Several weeks later I realized that I don't like the touch buttons, the glossy finish and the placement of the camera along with the flash. But I also realized that Xenon flash is really really important in cameraphones. I am now somewhat satisfied with my K850 as the pictures with modded camdriver are now excellent(still not perfect though )

The main problem with the K850i except the bugs and constant crashing was the design of the phone, it's absolutely disgusting.

Where do I start?

Is it the tacky, cheap looking silver plastic sides?
The stupid square navigation button that replaces the joystick?
The silly little lip running all round the edges that got easily damaged?
Or was it the fact you only had to sneeze on it and it got scratched?

For me it's been the worst and most disappointing phone I ever owned, and yes I've owned a few Nokias! Haha.

My fav phone of all time design wise, is probably the T68i, that phone was a work of art and should be re-born with modern technology!

My current phone is a C905, it's the best SE phone I've owned since P910i, and there's been a lot inbetween such as P1i, K800i, K810i, K850i then the C902.

The K800i and C902 were also great phones in my opinion.

My dream phone would be the Xperia or the Idou when it finally arrives but times are hard so I'll have to wait!

The W710 is a phone that if you get used to you can love a lot even with those sports things.
The W900 is a brick but was a monster of a phone back then.
The W760 has the worst effing speakers ever.
And dont ever trust a C905.
Also if its not SE its not functional. For me at least i mean i love the UI!

Forgot to mention,i realised SE make the best looking phones, although the C905 is a bit of an exception. I love the K850 design, its so compact, lite and real nice to hold, and it looks very techie, it looks a lot like a K750 on steriods lol.

K850i is the best SE phone and i love its innovative new design

Posted by MackTypeR
You must be using a different K850 to the one in the UK then cos damn that thing is ugly. It's clearly the worst designed phone ever for the reasons I mentioned above, it only looks brand new for a day then it starts getting micro scratches all over and the paint on the buttons start peeling off. Yukk.

I don't know anyone who likes the look of it in the real world, my mates all laughed at me for getting it, it did look better in pictures than it does in person though! Haha.

Posted by Coquito
I love K850 design too, as i said previously this is one of the best phones including design but it was the most buggy SE phone too (after P990).
Almost all people i know who have or had K850 love it but they complain about it being buggy sometimes especially the restarts on the older firmwares, R1FA035 is very stable though.

I love he back, like a real digital camera

Ive Had my K850 for 7months now, still looks new, keys havent had any paint peeling, it has one or two small scratches that hardly even visible, and general build quality on mine is excellent. When i 1st got it it was Voda branded, had R1EA firmware and restartd often, i then debranded and updated it to R1FA035 and since its been a realy sweet phone, battery life has been incredibly long, and the phone has been very stable. Everyone i know in real life think its a beautiful device. Mine still looks kind of new, and yet i dont even carry it in any kind of case, maybe you just had a real lemon of a phone, K850 is still a realy decent phone, still the only java SE to support both MicroSD and M2 as well as being a world phone. I like the way the camera is positioned, looks like a true digi cam, just wish the sensor wasnt so far away from the lens.

I totally agree with you , i've had mine for more than 13months but still looks new. Quite stable with the latest firmware. Battery life is really good, screen is superb and clear, and the Battery,Sim & Memory Card compartment is really a good design. No need to talk abt Camera and other features. It is great in all aspects whether if we consider camera or anything else.
I just love it , and don't want to change it even after having it for 1 year.

#1 I learnt that overall, the best camera phones i've owned (and thats pretty much all of them save INNOV8 and Pixon), nokia have in general been the best all round performers.

#2 That no phone is ever going to be perfect for me.

#3 That I wish Orange let you have a 5 day try-before-you-buy scheme.

From my first phone (a Siemens A52) I learned that it's very irritating to have the battery falling every 5 minutes from the phone! LOL
After getting my second phone (K750) I learned that it's very hard to break a Siemens A52! LOL
I learned that the K750 is one of the best phones out and that it has one of the most powerful speaker if it has modified acoustics (even louder than Nokia N73).
Last year I learned that it was a VERY BAD idea to buy a Nokia because the build quality and the Symbian OS are CRAP!!! After using my N81 8GB for 2 months I switched back to the K750.
Two months ago I learned that the C902 has even better build quality than the K750 and that the red version is really sexy!

Posted by Killfr3nzy
Glow in the dark buttons on the K850? cool haha.

I should have bought the C905 instead of the K850.
I should have left both C905,C902, K850 and wait for the Idou (and get an HTC in the meantime)

Posted by yea g
Well I learnt that C905's wifi can be used to access files on the phone, now the only time I use the usb cable is for modding

Posted by sale987
I learnt that, the k850 have the best camera cover on phones ever (you know its interested when you showing to someone that you just pull your finger over the touch button then camera cover is moving/(closing/opening) ), i would like the same on the some newer phone, but just a little biger Button to open it... Hell there is a lot of good things that i learn on mobile but i cant remember now...

And @Yea_g Wow man thats great thing... that is first on what i am goion to experiment when i buy the phone sometime

I love my K850i You just have to treat it well and it will do the same for you. I love mine, I know on Easto I must have said that like 100 times

When I got my T28S, I realised that phones didn't have to huge like my old Siemens C10.

When I got my T39m, I realised that just because something had a passing resemblance to a design classic (the T28) didn't mean I'd like it so much, and I didn't.

With the T68, I learnt that while I much preferred the Ericsson hardware style, Sony's software (the "i" version) was better.

With the P800 I learnt that the "mobile web" could actually work, that touchscreens were the only way to go (back in 2003) and that I'd never be able to go back to a non-smartphone again. In retrospect, the P800 was SE's only truly great smartphone - a true original, making the competition look completely outdated, and doing it with quality and style, too. Every smartphone they made after the P800 merely hung on its coat-tails, to varying degrees of success and, ultimately, failure.

The P910 was a bit like the T39 - again I learnt that just because on paper it was everything I liked about the P800 but better, didn't mean I'd actually like the phone any more - and I didn't. I felt dissapointed with it, and I also learnt that SE quality control was starting to slip when the paint started to chip.

With the M600i I learnt that SE could still come up with innovative ideas that worked, like the dual-use qwerty keyboard, but I also learnt that even after the long wait, UIQ's new version was a mess. It also dawned on me that actually, I did want a camera in my phone after all.

The Tytn II taught me that proper sync with a PC that actually worked - or even better with an Exchange server through Activesync - was worth its weight in gold. But I also learnt that Windows Moble, for all its power, has many problems - and a specs list as long as your arm doesn't always add up to a good experience in practice.

Finally, the iPhone's more of a reminder than anything - that the best ideas can come from unexpected places, and its often more important to excel in a few areas than to compromise in many.

That i can never be satisfied with a single cellphone lolz

I had 5 K850i's dude and all were the same, they were the ones with silver sides, top and bottom and a blue stripe all the way round. After a few days of just carrying it around in my pocket they got covered in tiny tiny scratches, I've got extremely good eyes so they were really noticable for me. The first one lasted a year and it was in a real state.

You know that thin lip that goes round the phone too? I found that gets dented and chipped really easily too, although I'm pretty rough with phones because I know I can phone Orange and get a new one the next day if it breaks or gets scratched.
I do think the all black K850i's look better but not by much.
I have big hands so I kept pushing the navigation square by accident when texting.
I thought the camera was poor too, my K800i had a much better camera.
Plus the lens of the camera is susceptible to getting scratched then you have to smash it out to take photos.

Towards the end I kept phoning Orange up after a few days of receiving my new K850i complaining about it because I wanted a different phone 'til they got sick of sending me K850i's and sent me a C902 which was far superior in every department except the camera flash but made close up photos better.

I now have a C905 and wouldn't swap it for 10 K850i's.

I truelly believe the K850i was by far the worst phone I ever owned design wise, I'm not saying it to annoy people. Everyone has different tastes though and if you're happy with it then that's great!

After the N82 I learnt that S60 is a boring, long winded operating system that fulfills the needs of tech heads and OS geeks, but not the average person who wants a phone out of the box.

Hey, I'm not disagreeing with you. Yeah mine is scratched and chipped, but I don't really care as long as it does what I want it to do, take nice quality pictures make phone calls etc. And plus if the K850i did not chip easily I would of never got mine for 75 pound last year. So yeah I don't really mind it's still durable and I think it gives it character. Makes it stand out as yours and you can think oh yeah I remember when I made that dent when I was on holiday etc.

But I do disagree with you on that fact that you think it's rubbish; it's not.

Your welcome it looks pretty cool, huh? I guess you never noticed because you normally had the screen on so they did not show and you hardly ever look at your phone in pitch darkness do you - well that's my reason anyway...it is a little pointless but is pretty awesome...

btw how do you get sony sketch on the phone? I always wondered cheers

After getting my X1 I learned that the alarm doesn't work if turned off, diffrent from what I was used to with SE. It would be a big plus imo.

i dont mean the a2 platform if you ask me.

Lol,same reason, i saw your post then put my K850 in front of my desk lamp for a seconds then turned off the lights in the room and saw the three touch buttons glow bright green.
To get Sony Sketch i got it in one of the links in A2uploader topic, then just put it in the fonts folder of my K850 using A2uploader.

V640i - How great this phone is at Video Calling, you can display pictures and pre-recorded video to the other party during the call and the 0.3 Mp front facing camera delivers video quality on par with the 1.3Mp rotating camera in my V800.

Posted by AbuBasim
I have learned from my i-mobile 902 that it is possible to have a pretty good camera in a phone but that most manufacturers for some reason, probably that the cost of the camera module shrinks profit margins, are not interested in this any longer and instead equip all new camera phones with mediocre cameras and trick customers into buying their crap with marketing speak like 'outstanding picture quality', 'print your photos with fantastic resolution, up to A3 size' and so on.

I have also learned that no one is interested in making a truly converged device. Whatever you buy it will always be lacking in some area: the music player in Nokia's E90 is lacking resume support so it's useless for listening to long podcasts or audiobooks.
