How to setup Call Waiting

I got a P990i and i want to set up call waiting-

Im on O2 and Pay as you Go.

When i enter *43# - a message network error appears -

can someone please advise me what to do to setup call waiting ?

I don't have a P990 but a W910i. Here is how I do it.

Settings - Calls - Manage Calls - Call Waiting > Activate

Of course your carrier must support call waiting, otherwise you will get a Not Available message.

i think o2 pay as u go does not support call waiting. i tried it but could not get it to work.

Unfortunately it means that your operator doesn't support call waiting.

It's important to understand that this is a service offered by the operator and not a function that is built-in into your phone. Yes, there are menus in the phone to set and query about this service, but activating any of those menu items will only make the phone pass the request to the operator. Thus, this is not a phone issue but an operator issue.
