This is probably a stupid question with an easy answer. I have been trying to get my Sony Ericsson K850i to use my Windows XP computer's Internet connection, but to no avail. I have managed to get it working all of one time, and that was a very long time ago.
I have set the phone to USB network via computer, but when I connect it to the computer it says the connection has limited or no connectivity. I can use the phone as a modem, no problem.
Help, please! Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

I don't know about USB, but bluetooth connection and proper settings for Bluetooth PAN (personal area network) would work... By the USB cable, it's possible if you use a Sony Ericsson SDK compatible with your phone. Then you need to enable serial networking and start for e.g. opera mini app from the PC.

It is possible via USB because it is given as an option in the phone's menus. What are the Bluetooth PAN settigns required for it to work?

I have a DSL usb modem and I can access computer's internet connection on my phone.
Here how it should be configured:
>>>Go to Settings - Connectivity
- In Streaming Settings, select "USB Ethernet"
and save
- In Network Sharing, change the workgroup to "MSHOME"
and save
- In USB - USB Network - USB Network Type, select "Via Computer"
Now connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable.
When phone prompts, select "Phone Mode"
Now you should see the Network icon for the phone in Windows' taskbar
Click the icon to bring up the Status windows and click Properties.
In the General tab, highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click Properties.
Select "Use the following IP address:" and enter the following settings
IP Address: 192.168.0.10
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: (Leave blank)
I'm not sure whether this will work if you are connected to a router. Below is a link to a similar post.

This did not work, but thank you for your suggestion. I am connected wirelessly to a router, but do not think this would have an effect as the problem seems to be with the computer getting an IP from the phone.
