Does setting Twilight Landscape mode fix the ISO or only the shutter speed or both?

Likewise...

Yeah I did. I tried all but I somewhat still felt DM3.8 was better.

Made by me (camdriver DM3.8 )

Maybe he did not use "Color Correction" function in DM3.8

Posted by jake20
some new DM3.8 shots here.
I really think that no matter which driver you use, you can achieve great shots. The big difference for me between the drivers is the ability to change settings for manual adjustment.

In my opinion these shots with the C905 and DM3.8 are easily of DSLR quality.
We just need a new driver which correctly implements manual shutter speeds, because there are lots of noise in low light pics still.

hopefully brazzuka will have an update soon

Is brazzuka working on a driver for us?

Posted by jake20
it sounded like he was going to work on something for us if you look a few pages back..
After browsing a few C901 threads I see that Raiderski really put out a fantastic C901 driver, with a LOT of cool features.
I would love to have this on my C905 also..

Posted by lestatsjo
its amazing what you folks can do with your 905, i still have to learn alot with this new camera, and eventually have to flash it.

great work guys.

after i flash it, and learn more about how to put 'drivers' in em, im comin back...

Maybe we should invite Raiderski here

I have visited Raiderski profile and i saw some amazing pictures. He says that they are done with SE K800i

but i don't believe it's impossible. Is that real?

Trojan001 what camdriver do you use?

Posted by jake20
here is an example of the manual shutter speed implemented in DM3.8
It does seem to work properly as long as you manually set an ISO level.
You can clearly see less noise in the manual shutter speed shot..

ALL AUTO
ISO 200

Manual ISO 100
Manual Shutter Speed EV +2.0

So to use manual shutter.. should try manually setting ISO too. That's what you are saying?

yes, if you don't set the ISO level, and just use AUTO ISO, using the manual shutter option will just raise the ISO level and produce lots of noise.
we need DM to correct this or hopefully brazzuka's will implement this correctly in his driver (if he is indeed working on one, which we still do not know)

Looking for backup SE driver.

Hello everyone. I recently acquired a C905a and would like to try the camera drivers posted here. Before overwriting the driver in my phone I'd like a copy of it. Apparently because my phone is CID53 I can't copy the files from it. In my searching I've found the old SE camera driver but not the new version my debranded phone has. If anyone can point me to a backup of my SE camera driver or tell me how to backup mine I'd really appreciate it. The file details on my driver is:

camdriver0.dat 61693 7/23/2009

Just rename the one on your phone first and with a different extention like origcamdriver.bak

Very strange..I've just done it on my phone again just to check I was right....no problems at all to rename. !! :0/

Try right click on the camdriver0.dat file and select 'Read'. You should get a dir called 'ph_out' where a2uploader is. A copy of the driver is downloaded in here.

you cannot read or "backup" files from CID53 phones like C905 using A2uploader at this point.
You can overwrite the files no problem, but not copy them out to your PC.

If you want to do that you will need to use the CID53 xtractor tool, and read the instructions on that page.

http://forums.se-nse.net/topic/43078-codeclaw-db3210-cid53-file-xtractor-20/

can we get back on topic now please?

I know your wrong about using A2uploader to read files on the C905 and copy them to your PC.... I DO IT...and I did it today to make sure what I'm saying is right !!

right....back on topic.

@riksilvers
what's with the attitude my friend?

and i am not wrong.
you must either not have a CID53 firmware, or you have changed your certificate to Brown, which allows permanent patching.
But by default A2uploader will not read or backup files from default CID53 firmware phones.

can you post your modified version of DM3.8? I would like to give it a try.
and what exactly did you modify?
no reason to be secretive my friend

thanks!

I apologize beforehand, I can't do a complete description of all the changes. My English is not good for this.

Fixed an error in the syntax of the driver.
I returned back settings Quantization tables. The c905 uses variable Quantization Tables, and if you use non-standard table, this leads to errors in the processing of images (distortion).
A little to rectify the brightness/color balance.
Made the change in size files for modes:
8Mp Low - max 6Mb
8Mp Norm. - max 2.8Mb
5Mp Low - max 3.6Mb
5Mp Norm. - 1.5 Mb
3Mp Low - max 2.8Mb
3Mp Norm. - max 900Kb
Etc ...

Download: dm3.8_rev.189

@alexins
thank you for sharing your driver!
this looks very promising

I will load it and take some test shots

*EDIT* hmm, it looks like the manual shutter speed may be broken now though.
Alexins, can you fix the manual shutter speed? it has no effect now when using without the flash and set ISO level.

these were taken with Alexin's DM3.8 rev189

twilight landscape with low lighting in the room + manual focus (the room was much darker than what this picture shows)
iso 100 1sec shutter speed

auto + flash

VERY low light ISO 200 no flash

ISO 160 LOW lighting

so far I am very much liking the quality of the images produced by this modded DM3.8, but the manual shutter option must be fixed.

looking to take some day shots tomorrow

I'll try to do it, but do not promise that I can do it fast. Not enough free time.

Posted by edwardob
i notice it's taking a long time to save the photo....or process it
any body notice this also with this new driver

Posted by jake20
@edwardob,
this is most likely because the file sizes are bigger now. my 5mp shots went from 1.5mb to 2mb with this new driver

doooooo!...oooh yeah your right........should have known

thanks alexins

if I now set a MANUAL ISO level in your new driver, I can no longer use the EV control to adjust the exposure level.
this is a very big problem with your driver.

I hope you can figure out how this was broken in you changes.
thanks again for your efforts here

@jake20: Else, alexins's mod driver is good?

Will alexins's mod driver in Manual Shutter Mode work for AUTO (iso) settings (or requires to set Manual ISO)?
[ This Message was edited by: Bryan84 on 2010-04-12 17:35 ]

Posted by jake20
@Bryan84,
I like the images that Alexin's modded driver produce a lot.

But it also looks like his changes have broken the functionality of the "Manual Shutter" option.

Manual shutter has no effect now when tying to use it to get slow shutter speeds for low light shots, even when in AUTO ISO.
If he can fix this, then I think this driver may be the best yet.

I am also still testing some more with it.

Posted by jake20
doing a little more testing today with Alexin's modified DM3.8 driver..

It definitely looks like Alexins cranked up the color saturation in this mod. For the most part the results are very nice, but depending on the colors of the subject you are shooting, the over saturation can be a bit much.

Here are some more shots..
what do you think, is the color saturation too high?

I'd like to also get Brazzuka's and Raiderski's opinion here as they are the resident "active" camera modding experts.

here are some outdoor shots.. i am liking this driver a lot i think.. if we can just fix the manual shutter speed, and get a manual color saturation option. i would be totally satisfied.

Alexins:
I don't know if this only happens with my C905, but i don't think so...
When i set to manual focus, and chanve the EV value, the image stops like 0.3seconds, and if i am recording a movie it is a litle booring because it brokes the image...
Tell me that this is not only my C905 problem and try to figure this out please...

Posted by jake20
i am not having any issues with manual focus..

Posted by alexins
@Skylow
Try this version:

dm3.8_rev.196

fix: Incorrect work EV +/-

Posted by jake20
@alexins
this update only fixes manual focus issue?
