DM 3.5

snapped this quick panorama shot while driving by a really cool Halloween decorated house.
The stitching of the shot is very good quality actually.. better than my W760 panorama shots.

Those using DM's driver, do you always set Color Correction ON ?

Posted by Bryan84
I seriously hate my indoor photos. I am using DM's driver and I know I can achieve better quality shots than the below. I am in a restaurant. Indoor environment. When kind of settings should I use for such shots? All of the below are AUTO; forced to NO FLASH (cause I feel with the flash, it's too bright) and COLOR-CORRECTION ON.

Then finally I took a photo of my mom and dad. For this shot, I used Twilight Portrait with flash. And this was how it turned out.

But I really don't like the colors of the photos. What should I be done? Please advise.

Try to change white balance, do not take every picture with auto it does not work well. (even on DSLR you have to choose correct white balance to have more accurate colors).
I myself would try to take the first one (plate with food) with daylight white balance and with incandescent and see whico onse is best. Try again and post result

just don't forget that if you are using DM 3.5 there is no "Daylight" white balance.. its been replaced by Color Correction.

I really wish we didn't have to lose features in these modded drivers such as the entire "Effects" menu, and "Daylight" white balance option.

DM, is it possible to assign the ISO speeds & Color Correction to the keypad numbers? so we do not have to lose any of the original driver features?

thanks!

I've uploaded it for you.

DM3.5 en.lng.rar

Posted by fifi66
Do anyone have lng in French?
DM do you need anyfile to make it?

Posted by dark_axl21
Any other settings i need to look out before getting that manual iso tab?
Install both the lng. and dat. file at their respective places

No. just have to make sure it's the correct lng and dat. That the dat IS the manual ISO one.

Posted by dark_axl21
That's the prob i can't seem to access the manual iso settings even with the correct language.

Erm, just to make sure you got the correct version of .dat, here I uploaded it for you again.

DM 3.5 MANUAL-ISO.rar

Remember to make sure they are in the correct directories. And the en.lng =) And that you are using English.

Posted by dark_axl21
Thx anyway, i go try later.
I put the previous dat. in this path ifs/settings/camera if not mistaken

Pictures taken from school.
All are auto w/o flash using DM's 3.5

Posted by Bryan84
@wahehe15, see the 3rd shot of your indoor shots with friends. Lots of noise. Wonder how to improve that kind of shots.

Posted by mikely_28
DM said to take indoor picture without colour correction, night portrait without flash. Try these settings.

White Balance is a critical point of this phone, IMO. Incandescent Light is never balanced right. That's present in both DM's, Toffer's and the original cam driver. It's not accurate. Another scenario with which the White Balance doesn't seem to cope well is mixed types of light, like a room with both incandescent lamp and daylight.

@Vit
I recommended to turn off the Color Correction because Color Correction gives more yellow view in indoor shots
and set the scenes to night portrait because it gives more exposure time ^_^
just try it and see

I dont know about Eltoffer
but yes I've been working on new update since panonski complained about the indoor shots
^_^
but my problem is the time I dont have time to test and edit the driver
also maybe this will be my last driver as satio is started to be available everywhere
I'm just waitting for the official release to buy it ^_^

DM,
great to hear you are working on one last driver.. thanks!!

One more question.. in what settings would you need to change the manual iso settings?
i am unclear what the difference is between the manual ISO settings vs EV control vs scene selection

they all seem do the same thing? let in more light
can someone explain to me?

thank for the help!

Good day to you all,

I am new here at esato, I have been reading this forum for about a week now. I am so proud at DM and Eltoffer, providing us with an excellent camdrivers. I have also tried both drivers on my phone and I am impressed with it. However, eltoffer's camdriver doesn't have the en.lng file. Would somebody share the en.lng file for eltoffer's driver with manual ISO? Thanks in advance!

I've already did that. Nevertheless, the issue is about colours with the incandescent WB turned on, which doesn't have colour correction. And is not a matter of increasing the exposure time either, it's really a matter of white balance. The colours should have a warm yellow tone to them in order to reproduce the actual scenario, but they have only soft yellow tones.

I've made a mod of your driver, introducing colour correction also for Incandescent White Balance. I am currently testing it, and as soon as I am pleased with it I will post it. I also took down the saturation settings, as sometimes they would provide not too accurate colors.

Thanks for your reply!

Jake, that's not a low light photo. Low light is when you do not have a strong light source within the picture. In that photo you've got some strong light coming through the blinds. What happens is that the camera measures everything based on that strong light source. So you get a very short exposure time, and the dark areas are almost not seen at all.

C'mon, people! Enough with macro shots!! Let's try to improve the camera driver beyond that boundary! We all know that it can take great macro shots, but let's go some steps further, please... It's getting really annoying.
