like most everyone here.. i'm waiting for Rachael. it's great news that it will be announced next month and available early 2010! i can't afford it right now anyway. What i want to know is whether there will be an american version and if not, will the standard version support all american 3G and high packet data speeds... (ATT preferrably)..

Absolutely fabulous phone, that's coming just as it's planned, and here's explanation:
X10 aka Rachel is based on Cortex-A8 processor by Texas Instruments (TI OMAP 3430) - same hardware that's inside Satio!
So hardware is ready and proven!
The key here is software! Cortex-A8 is supported in Android 2.0 (Éclair)
Very first phone with Cortex-A8, and Android 2.0 is Motorola DROID! Actually Motorola has one quarter exclusivity on Android 2.0, so all other phones based on Android 2.0 will arive in 2010, including X10!
So far SE traditionally used GSM Summit in February to anounce new phones, so it's logical to presume that will be the day of official lounch of their first Android powered phone!
Another reminder: so far only Snapdragon based phone - Acer A1 runs Donut (1.6) - that's 'cos basically Snapdragon is ARM11 on steroids, and Cortex-A8 is truly different ARM architecture that requires truly dedicated and optimized version of Android, and that's actually what 2.0 is!

Rachael is based on Snapdragon afawk. not Omap 3430. i don't know if Snapdragon's Scorpion CPU is based on Arm Cortex A8 but it is for sure that snapdragon is more efficient because of 45nm process (OMAP3430 afaik is 65nm). besides, the graphics capabilities of 3430 (except for the iphone) are nothing compared to the AMD Z430 GPU inside the snapdragon platform. and since Rachael's timescape uses those mind blowing animations, it is percieved that a better graphics processor should be used.

It's android, I think it will be G900's successor, but the phone is just ugly. Look like J132's successor.

So could it be A300? The statusbar icons aren't android's.
I think it's Android because of the background wallpaper and the clock. They look Rachaelish. Don't you think? But the screen is 2.2 inches, as I can measure it comparing with the buttons.

Seems to be a candybar android. HMM. I do remember android was being built as a multi-form platform. I mean like for candybars and touch screen phones. So this is certainly interesting. If it is android in a candybar I might just cave but if its A300 well then lets see...

Don't think so, G900's screen is only .2 inch larger, so why not a 2.2" touchscreen?

No, G900's screen is 2.4 and you have to work with stylus. Now the stylus is outdated. So you can't have touchscreen for fingers in 2.2 inch screen.

I've just realised something! Maybe I'm wrong, but the three items at the screen bottom have icons with them, plus the middle one seems to be selected. Doesn't this indicate that this phone is a touchscreen? And a non-touch interface would normally only have words at the bottom corresponding with the softkeys? Correct me if I'm wrong with my observation....

I don't find it ugly at all and I think it runs A300. A UI designer at SE had recently commented about SE wanting a unified user experience in their handsets, no matter what OS is running. THat would explain the similarity between this and Rachael's UI.

Android LONG abandoned multi-platforms: no qwerty candybar has been released using Android, nor leaked as of yet. It was a prototype from HTC specific to Google's internal testing but never seen light of day. Unsure why to be honest.

didn't somebody say that you should look at the first letter of the codename for an OS clue (same letter codenames have same OS)? It made me think Satio/Sunny/Susan = Symbian S60... but then I realised Satio is production name and was codenamed Idou.
I seriously doubt it will be A300 Bluetooth icon on the right, isn't SE style and neither is icons for the softkeys. My bet is that it's android and capacitive touch. If LG can put a useable touchscreen on a 1.4" watch face, GD910 (albeit with a lot of scrolling action) then
can use it on a 2.2" screen, no probs.

I am already disappointed by Susan and Sunny.
Can't SE make phones with large WVGA screens? I don't care if they are touch or not as long as they have nice specs and 8MP or better cameras.
Remembering S001 ( a 3.3" FWVGA 854×480 AMOLED display ), what can I say? Sigh...........

So then the first EU commercials started popping up. And you know what? Its amazing how far SE is pushing it over here. I absolutely love it and with it I can see SE becoming top again here for sure. The EU is being claimed as a new generation of SE and that is not a stretch. I cannot wait to see more as this new SE the fresh beginning era of renewed glory is about to begin even if its at a bumpy start with semi glitching phones. I mean what new era doesn't start of bumpy to only become one smooth line of greatness? So here's to SE and a brighter colorful more brighter future!
