Was: Firmware
Is there anyone having any information about the latest fw. I already found some "undocumented features" I would like to get rid of.
The version I’m currently running have a date stamp of 2008-08-29. Is this the most recent?

What can expect in this part of the forum? The only available SE phone running WM is the X1!

there is no newer firmware yet
I can suggest two places to watch for new firmware
X1 support page
XDA Developers X1 ROMs page

You would be supprised what I find in all forum sections. That's why I asked. When X4 is out, this topic will still exist, and it won't be obvious that you are refering to the X1.

latest is R1AA017

lets not confuse and mislead
firmware versions on X1 don't work like other SE phones
here's what I have on an unbranded X1

As far as I know , they have like 1.xxx similar like that.
Not long nos like standard SE phones have.
Also they have terms like cooking , kitchen .

If you go to the Customer Info tab there is a specific parameter called Software version. The ROM versions you have posted seem to me to be more of a bios related firmware as opposed to running software.
The version I have is a Vodafone model and is version R1AA020

then I post my apologies to Angelo.
on every other WM device I've had the firmware version has always been recorded from the version tab I displayed there, and when you want to update it from ROMs at XDA developers, thats the version you compare with. Now looking at the X1 ROMs they have, they do include the standard SE style versioning.
I've never seen this customer info tab before! thanks

this is how it looks, much like the details you get on any other SE, I am surprised!

well i didn't expect to see this.
this would explain the SE style firmware - but I'm sure its just going to be their way of labeling roms.
Unfortunately i can see this causing the SE pannel development and XDA ROM developement going off in tangents...

doesn't seem to work yet though. I followed the steps through and got to step 7, plugging in the mini usb when it installed some drivers, and then... nothing...
exited, started up again and repeated but still nothing once I plug the mini usb in.
I would expect it to at least say I already have the latest firmware

I expect the SE Software version relates more to the broad feature set of the software, for example, there may be several ROM versions over the life of a particular software version?

I would have expected that the updates for the X1 would have been delivered in the same way as with all other HTC phones, i.e. as downloadable ROM packages with built in installers.
