hi all! i'm selling my p900 -- globe-locked, complete package, used from february-september 2004 only, with screen protector, small chip where the flip meets the frame but otherwise in very good condition, no problems whatsoever, never been repaired.

it breaks my heart to part with it but the office issued us a pda/phone (to use for work) and so p900 is just languishing at home...

p-m me your best offer.

@ luwi

ask mo c binoblaine or steele....they have affordable CDs..pero buy ka na din ng 256 para madami ka madl

i've had problems with my p800 and am willing to get it fixed. i'm afraid of bringing it to semicon as andaming reklamo sa kanila dati when it comes to fixing phones, some of which, lalong nasira rather than nagawa. Is Smartnet still up? ok pa din ba sila mag-ayos ng mga phones? or nag-improve na ba ang Semicon? where would you suggest i go?

Posted by AE101

Hi I just want to know where P910's are made. I had a P900 before and it had a "MADE IN FRANCE" at the back. So now that i have a P910 it doesn't say where it was made.....have any idea...?

Thanks...

Yes! Smartnet is still up. Forget Semicon and go straight to Smartnet.

The only complaint I have with them (minor) is their workhours. heeheh... They're open only mon~sat (sat is half day). If your office is not within the makati area, you'll probably have to take a half or whole day off to have your phone serviced.

@AE101

Did you check the sticker on the box? All my phones has the place where they where made printed on the box sticker (right below the bar codes).

ganyan din yun sa akin, yung p800 ko dti may made in france, pero itong p910i ko wala naka-indicate even sa box!

Currently, I'm still not in the Philippines, baka march or so, papauwi ko ung phone, or kung makakauwi ako, ako na mismo magdadala, the makati branch is still the one in buendia right?

@marjonz

Yep. You are correct.

Also, regarding your bad experience with the other SE service center... keep your cool. The service rep you encountered is probably one of those who were trained to do things completely by the book. If their service manual says that the phone should be working, then they'll insist that the phone is working, even if the display is dead, etc.

Anyway, March is just a month away, and you can finally have your unit fixed. Hehehe.

guys,

is it possible to use a p910i flip on a p900 (assuming, of course that there are "replacement flips" available)?

Posted by 619
lynda... nope

Posted by Lynda418
sayang. the keypad on the 910i flip really looks much easier to use than the one on the 900, which has very small keys. which is my only beef with the older model...

Posted by bobstarsg
sira LCD ng P800 ko i need to replace it 15 thousand daw sa SEMICON SM Manila Branch.......ang mahal.... grabe isang brand new SE Camera phone na rin yun K700i or K500i maybe......wala bang mas mura......
baka me alam naman kayo na mas mura sa 15thousand na LCD for my P800 ....please !

Posted by senninha
just get a 2nd hand P800. it's cheaper and you would have a lot of spare parts

Posted by 619
why dont you try smartnet?

Posted by Lynda418
fellow p-series users, need your opinion on this.

here's the situation: dropped my p9 last night, unit still functioning but not 100 percent. phone ok, apps still working. however, screen doesn't respond to stylus taps (unless i press the sides of the unit). brought it to semicon-rockwell earlier tonight, and right off the bat upon hearing my explanation, the csr told me "ay kelangan ho palitan ang lcd niyan. may mga cases na kaming ganyan, ayaw mag-respond yung screen."
a new lcd would set me back about 7,200 + 500 labor. i told her to have the unit checked first, let me know what needs to be done, then i'll decide.
my question: should i seek a second opinion from that other repair center, sess? i've read about the criticisms against semicon here but (against my better judgement) brought my unit there anyway because it was easier for me to go to rockwell than glorietta. is it possible the damage isn't that bad and an lcd-change might not be needed after all?

thanks a lot for whatever help you can give.

Posted by senninha
chances are that the lcd will indeed have to be replaced.

as far as the service center is concerned, the the only one i would recommend is smartnet. very good service and usually cheaper than semicon. sess is ok i guess, but smartnet is always my 1st choice.

Posted by Lynda418
thanks senninha, will keep smartnet in mind next time. but whaddyaknow, the semicon csr called up today and said "ok na po phone niyo. may hinigpitan lang sa loob. hindi pala kailangan palitan lcd."
i was just so thankful the damage wasn't major, i held back from telling here "well, you shouldn't have been too hasty about your conclusions."

Posted by HIgher_168

good to hear that you don't have to replace your phone's LCD.

ok semicon rockwell ah.

Hi, any of you guys know where I can get a P910a (US version) in the Philippines? I will be migrating to the US soon and the network that I'll be using there is Cingular and uses mostly the 850 band. Thought that I could also buy a P910a there but I might have a hard time selling my P910i. I don't want to sell it here before I leave.

Posted by senninha
i think it's highly unlikely that you will find a P910a here in the phi. but if ever you were to find one, i'm guessing that the best place to look would be where the grey marketeers are, i.e., virra mall, goldcrest, etc.

on the flip side, i would think that it would be better to sell your P910i here before you leave, as you may have a harder time selling it in the US, what with the lack of the 850 mhz band.

Thanks, I guess I'll try to look for it in Greenhills. I don't think I can part with my phone right now. I use it instead of my laptop. Check emails, write short documents, and etc. And I can do that just about anywhere - while in the car, in a coffee shop, etc. It's so handy and has so much more uses than my previous phone.

Posted by ANREB
i plan 2 buy a p900 soon, but i have 1 question that's lingering in my mind since i tried it in greenhills,is it stylus-dependent?i mean can i still scroll or play games without using the stylus?

and one more thing,is it still a good buy, since there are only few stores who are selling this because of the p910i release.

you can scroll & select using the jog dial, not necessarily the stylus. for games, it would depend on the game but i think pretty much the same would apply.

P900 is a very good buy, especially if you compare what your alternatives are for the same price.

Posted by ANREB
thanks for your reply, what i want to know is if i can still used the p900 without the stylus.

Posted by xerx

yes you can...some of us here use our fingers harharharharhar just don't press too hard

Hey guys, i am a newbie here and just want to ask for your help with regards to my p800
Just yesterday my P800 started malfunctioning. When
there is an incoming call and I answer it, I can't hear the party on the other line unless I open the flip and turn on the speaker phone. Same thing when I make a call.

Posted by bobstarsg
have u tried using the jog dial ? dialing it upwards increases the volume.

now guys, is it possible to install Pocket Outlook, Pocket Internet Explorer to PXXX series ? if yes how ,

Posted by marduk2000
yeah i tried that already...volume is at its max already...do you think its a hardware problem already...i already did a master reset and an internal format with no avail...i searched in the net and found out that some p800 users are also having the same problem.

Oh for the guy who mentioned selling his P910i...
The P910i works here in the US. I have one and I'm on the Cingular network. Everything works fine, GPRS, SMS, etc. Even the signal is great.

Your P910i should work fine in the US. I brought my P800 during my business trip to the US and was able to roam without any problems using the GSM networks there, including Cingular. I even bought a T-Mobile pre-paid SIM and it worked fine.
