Which is better?
I like W960 becoz of its quality in playing music
and I like the QWERTY of P1i.

So which one is better. Could you show me some reasons.?
Thank you so so much

Posted by QVGA
The quality of music playback is identical on both phones. W960 is so ridiculously over priced it just makes it totally worthless

Posted by HTAluvBeBeo
so the music quality in both phones are the same, isn't it?

In my country W960i's price is $100 higher than P1i's.
Is it worth to pay $100 more for W960i with 8gig ?

If you have the budget, then the answer is absolutely yes. Looks means price. Pricey is fad.

Speaking of playback quality my P1 sounds better than my W890. I couldn't believe the full and lively sound coming from the P1.

Is it real, hmm P1i sounds very goode
one more Question:D

Is it stable to install Walkman 3 from W960 into P1 ?

Posted by AD
yes, walkman3 is a proven stable mod for the p1

Posted by mobman
yep - and 8gb memory cards arn't too expensive these days...

How about the green-tint-problem of P1
Dose W960o have that problem
Is there a way to fix that problem of P1
If not, could you show me how to choose a P1 without green tint?

Thank you all for answering my noob questions:D

The green tint problem is a strange one. I used to have it on my phone but the most recent firmware update got rid of it, so i would be tempted to say that its not an issue. However, there are people on this forum that say they still have the green tint even with the current firmware so i'm at a loss to explain it.

That said, it seems the number of people suffering the green tint with the most recent fw is very rare

definitely p1i.
you get a better keyboard and p1 is better built than w960.

Walkman 3 on the P1i works just perfect. sound quality is just as good and you'll get the QWERTY keyboard, so I'd say go with the P1i. my phone already came with the latest firmware available so I never experienced the dreaded green tint.

Thank you all so so much.
I decided to buy P1i.
i 've just ordered it.

well l've owned both and i currently use the 960 cuz its walkman oriented..the touchscreen has a better built...the softkeys for walkman are great and i am not a qwerty fan..plus it has volume sidekeys..it all depends of your main usage

Posted by Dups!
@josesoto14 You wrote that the W960's touch screen is better built ... compared to? You also wrote that the W960 has side volume keys. Unless I'm misunderstanding but the P1 has those.

How about the WiFi of P1i

It seems that it s not as good as WiFi of other phones (i.e: IPhone )

Thank you

P1 is better

I love qwerty

Posted by jmbillings
As others said - the qwerty on the P1 is well worth having (assuming you get used to it of course... ) and since we can now put the walkman player on to the P1, it's even better. Plus I like the removable storage - the 960 doesn't have a removable memory card (does it?)

wise choice my friend, now getting it hacked and get the cool apps, and you cam ruin it like me and make it look like its running vista for a laugh

what is going to be the next version of P1? Everybody used to talk about P5 but I haven't been seeing any thread about this. Is there going to be an upgrade of P1? Or is the Xperia the next business phones of Sony Ericsson?

any answer please?

Posted by angry_machin
yes,u can wait for x1 which i dint want to. i was about to get a w910 or w960,i compared it to p1i and found way value of price...also i owned w810,w850 and k750 before n most of them was max modded, but i love p1i more than any of em.

if i can afford the w960 should i go for it or is it still better to get p1?i don't like qwerty because it makes the device ' non-phone-ish'....another thing about the p1 is the looks, its got a kind of business man look to it , i m a boy and i really love the looks of the w960

If you are aware of the specs of both, but still prefer the W960 due to its style, there is no need to ask imo.

Go for it.

@dwainsan

There won't be an upgrade to the P1. UIQ3 is finished so there will be no future UIQ phones, atleast not from SE.

But hey...get the P1 or W960, depending on which type pf keypad you prefer.
You can have opera 9.5 on it too! and UIQ3 modding has just begun...there's a lot still in store for us UIQ users..on the non-official front of course!

any mods for the p1 will work on the w960 too?

No more SE for me for a while. I have the P1i, and the external speaker just died, after having it for a year. Don't get me wrong, it is a good phone, very capable, but I hate SE's mentality. Instead of working on improving and developing existing phones, they make a whole concoction of lousy phones with a lack of features.

(Remember I said, I still like the P1i)
-P1 has slow data connections compared to other phones. GREAT QWERTY keyboard, I think one of the best innovations from SE.
-CANNOT open zip files.
-Very MINIMAL support and update from SE, to the point where we have to get hackers like swmail to port over applications on other SE uiq3 devices.
-No printing
-No flash support, apart from the hack for flv files.
-Plays videos, but not flexible, you have to figure out the exact CODEC settings to get them to play. then again, most phones have this issue I guess.
-Costs USD 180 flat rate to fix the phone after warranty. CRAZY!!! (considering that you can get a new one for around $300 now. maybe some of you should consider getting the extended warranty that some dealers provide.)
-Cut & paste doesn't work properly still, and can only handle a limited amount of characters. For example, if you wanted to cut and paste material from a webpage to a Quickoffice document, you'd have to split it up into sections. this should've been fixed by now, but that's SE for you.
-lousy camera (green tint issue mainly)
-lousy video recording. ( only does 15fps without the hack)

Pros:
-great multitasker
-decent music player
-what else... there's a few, can't think of them off the top of my head. just woke up.
-good external speaker, until it dies!!
-did I mention great QWERTY keyboard?

Anyway, that's my rant. I'm looking towards the future of the Nokia E90. I've been doing research on the phone, and it looks and performs pretty good. Most specs exceed the P1. And S60 is now developing touch, which is probably what the next E90 will incorporate.

The SE XPERIA moved to windows mobile, which turned the deal off for me. It looks like a good phone, but after the initial hype, I think people are going to realize that its just as limited as the P1 when it comes to full fledged functionality. I don't want to reset a phone every week, you know.

Walkman for music-loving casual-style, P1i is good for business purpose.
