i was transferring pictures from the phone (i have no memory card yet) to the pc. it sort of hanged so i unplugged the cable and re-plugged it. now the pc can't recognize the phone/removable disk, and my phone is stuck at mass storage mode.
i tried to take out the battery, turn it on and off several times, but it won't work.
any suggestions?

Uninstall usb drivers from Pc and install again. Try to do a master reset to phone if possible. If not, flashing should do the trick. You can use SEUS to update firmware (some sort of flash) or totalgsm if you are willing to spend some euros on flashing. You will get new firmware and problem solved with totalgsm though.
