You need to edit the menu.ml file. Try searching the forum!

from what i have read of is u need to download KDplayer java applic and just install it?? is that right?

If you just install it you will have it in the applications folder of the phone... If you want it in the main menu instead of the default music plyaer you have to edit the menu.ml file to do that.

Do you mean how to change it so the phone A2DP functions and the play/stop button on the side of the phone only manipulate the KD player and not the Music Player too? ie, you press stop button and the KD player stops playing, but the Music Player starts? Thats whats happening to me right now. Any ideas?

Java can use those buttons... But not when the screen light goes off.

I didn't think so? Maybe it's changed.

For example on the phones with play button, the play is hardwired to the media player (or rather the last played video, track or radio station).

So when you press it it pauses any audio being used by java.

If I'm wrong then it should be possible to code java apps to use the play button, yet I've never seen such a beast. I hope I am wrong.

The play/stop button and the A2DP funtions (at least the play/stop) function do work with kd-player if thats what your wondering. I have a k800 with the latest k810 FW and the latest 9 series kd player. I think a lot has changed from 8 series to 9 based on my troubleshooting-google-searches.

huh i have kd player 9 but that play button doesnt work at al for my kd player!!

Try with another version of kd player. Actually my KD player while I was using K800, worked with the side buttons for volume and tracks change. Didn't use the play stop button (used number 5 instead) and also the game buttons were working for changing tracks and using the seeker to.

I m ight give version 9 a lash then. I last used version 8 on my K800, I'll try 9 on my W910

Well I think the difference between those 2 was only the equalizer.. Not 100% sure though.

got it now, yeah haven't found much difference. It does support hold +/- to track reverse or advance.

That's actually a very handy improvement.

How do you edit the menu.ml file?

You can open it with notepad...

Posted by max_wedge
yep, but you need file system access first. USe XS++ for that. Not work on db3150 phones such as K850, W910. But does work with cid52 K800,K790

Posted by strizlow800
Will work with DB3150 phones like K850 and W910 if you pay for totalgsm client. They offer 3150 FS operations. But actually it works for free on all previous platforms and phones like DB2010 (k750, w800) and DB2020 (k800, k790, K810, w880)...

I hadn't checked totalgsm yet, good to know. Davinci don't offer fs access, wotan don't even support w910 as yet, maybe not any db3150.

maybe we should continue this discussion over at http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=174823 it's basically an identical thread.

(if mods haven't locked one of these threads already)
