yer i had the backup problem it backed up fine just wouldnt let me use the back up file from the pc suite, and tranced the p990i dont have enough ram

W960 walkman may not work, but the one from W950 will.

you can only use walkman v2 tranced 3 uses to much ram

Walkman W960 = walkman 3 which doesn't work in P990

Walkman W950 - walkman 2 which works on P990

Thanks for the tip I did finally manage to get my P1 to backup, however MPE solved a different problem for me! it helped me to BU my CEO W960 as he has broken it and I needed a way to save his SMS data!

Well, you could always use the Walkman 3 skin mod to enhance the bland interface of Walkman 2.
In essence, Walkman 2 + W3 skin looks almost exactly the same as the actual Walkman 3 program.

Yesterday I was playing with a G900 and had the idea!

Is it possible to somehow take the torch application from G900 and then somehow install it on W960? What do you think guys?

Hi guys!
Bit of a problem here. Installed Capswitch with no problem but am having a problem with sis-installer, I can't open it on my phone. Any ideas?

Don't execute the installserver.exe file.

Just switch CapsSwitch to OFF and go to your file manager (e.g. X-Plore) and copy the file to your c:\sys\bin folder.

Thanks myth!

I must be doing something wrong cause trying to install the torch gives me the same message as hanky, ie, "The package uses a protected uid"even though I have copied the file installserver to the c\sys\bin folder.

What ever I try to install it sais:"instalation file corrupt".I did the "instalserver" twice but nothing.Anyone who can help me please write a response.

I Have just got my g900 and have done the following.

1. Installed caps switch

2. turned of capabilities

3. Installed swissmanager

4. Accessed the protected C:\ folders

5. Place Installserver.exe into C:\sys\bin on my phone

6. Have installed GDesk

7. Tried to load design http://uiq-look.org/content/s[....]nd_aresmod+theme?content=89487

8. Comes up with error saying "Swiss manager not installed" and it dosnt look very right

Any help on resolving it. Help much apprieciated

I got a working sis installer in my little files archive in my sig, it works like a charm on my P1i, should also work on others.

Get "notes-by-gapata-d_s_sis_installer.rar" that will do the trick. I haven't needed the database patch (for converting your old notes) or the other archives, if the installer fails try "notes_application.zip" extract it and copy it to your C. Good luck

oh wow i love you guys

thanks to the very clever guys and gals on here i now have

alkman 3.0 and the post it note application jobbie up and running on my P1i, to say i am chuffed to bits is an understatement

the only query i have is the volume, on the original music player the scroll wheel did the volume, whereas on

3.0 the scroll wheel just moves through the playlist etc, any ideas peeps?

Press 2 to display the volume slide box. Use the jog dial to change it.

I'd sucuccessfull hacl my P1i, but why i can't copy trkdriver.ldd to z:/sys/bi/ in drive z says and 0% memory 0% free (is it mean can't hack this drive) ?
Please give any sugestion.....

The z: drive is a ROM (read only memory). You can't write to it. Flashing/patching the ROM is an entirely different story and isn't possible on UIQ3 yet.

PROBLEMS!!

i have followed the instructions you have given in order to hack and overide permissions but i cannot get it to work and dont understand what im doing wrong.

ok heres what i have done so far please tell me what i am doing wrong:

i have downloaded capswitch and swissmanager and installed them on the phone..they both work fine.

then i have opened capswitch program and turned capabilities OFF.
then i have opened swissmanager and enabled viewing of roms etc (under the heading system)
i am able to see all C: drive, D: and also Z: drives.
i have then downlaoded and copied the installer file titled "installserver.exe"
then i have copied that file to the phone.
i have then deleted "installserver.exe" from c:sys/bin and put copied and pasted the new "installserver.exe" into c:sys/bin
i have turned off swiss manager and switched off the phone and switched it back on.

then i have downloaded the sound modlite and copied the sesound patcherexe file to my phone.

however i cannot click the sesoundpatcherexe as it says "unrecognized format. no viewer can be found on your phone to open this file.

please tell me what i am doing wrong i assume i have not hacked my phone properly.

i have followed the forums words for word and cannot understand where i am going wrong in modding my SE G900

please help!

Did you read SWmail's instructions inside the Readme file?

Here is what it says:

Installation
- Unlock access to system folders (look CapsSwitch)
- Download the archive from http://www.agathosyne.de/files_ext/se_uiq3_sound_mod_lite.zip
- Copy the file 'C:\Private\10202be9\persists\1020867a.cre' from the your phone to computer.
- Run se_sound_patcher, select the file '1020867a.cre' copied from phone, press "Install".
- Copy the patched file '1020867a.cre' back to your phone (in dir 'C:\Private\10202be9\persists').
- Immediately restart your smartphone.

In other words, you need to take '1020867a.cre' file from your phone and transfer it to your PC, then patch it on your PC with sesoundpatcher.exe, then put back the patched '1020867a.cre' in your phone, and restart your phone.

Anyway, here you can find the patched '1020867a.cre' file:

I already patched the file, so don't patch it again, just transfer it to C:\Private\10202be9\persists\ and restart your phone.

one thing though....it didnt seem like had it any effect on the sound

the G900 has such low sound volume its hard to hear people when in a busy place!

Yeah as I answered your private message, the sound patcher is to be used with your pc... Not in phone.

Well, sound mod lite is used to increase the volume when listening to music through your wired headset. It's not supposed to have any effect on the earpiece volume.

I did the walkman mod a while back, but revisiting these great instructions I will have to try a couple more! The torch mod would be dead handy, and the increase in sound also.

Im having problems with the installation.

Ihave installed capsswitch ans swiss manager.

I can see my "C" "D" and "z" drives

I have also downloaded the sound modlite zip folder onto my pc...from here is where im confused.

How do i copy the 1020867a.cre' from my phone to my computer? i have linked my phone and pc through the USB connection using pc sync.

Please give me a detailed and easy step-to-step tutirial from there...i need to increase the sound volume on my p1i.

Im also battling to download from rapid share...please e-mail the files i will need from rapid share on: khakhi.diala2gmail.com or give me alternative link.

Ok heres the prob. I have a p1 too, the method you are trying doesn't work on many p1 as the file 1020867a.cre' is not to be found. I recommend that you try either Sound mode full or Monster bass. I have tried them both and the results are outstanding (my Ipod using friends were jealous lol). So try them. Hope this Helps
