The battery icon will show as charging but it isn't in fact. So don't worry about it.

There might be bugs in the firmware causing this "issue"... Actually if you disabled usb charging from service menu, don't worry.

i think it is still charging in file transfer mode even if you disabled usb charging in the service menu. my k800i behaves similarly.

After all, if it is charging. It can't harm the phone.

if the battery is already charged then it won't charge any further (even if the indicator says charging)

You won't affect the phone battery lifecycle.

Exactly... If you get 1 more percent charged battery it is not bad at all...

Agree!

Plus lithium polymer batteries are great for charging them whenever you like. You don't need to drain the battery every time and charge it fully then... They don't seem to lose capacity that easy.

Its charging. What's wrong with that? But its slower though.

Slower?? When charging? Don't know about that... Had a K800 recently (before my P1) and never got any issues with losing speed when charging. I was using latest K810 firmware in it though.

@striz: What i meant was when i charge my phone using the USB, its slower compared to the charger.

Posted by strizlow800
Aaah that's ok then. I got you wrong. sorry. Actually it is solower due to the lower voltage of the USB port compared to the charger.

Posted by jms2367
yes. it's slower. i left my phone attached to the usb overnight a couple of times and i never got a 100% full charge (coming from 20% or less charge).

It is the same here. Never got fully charged battery with USB charging, as it should charge with the charger... It may show percentage, but it doesn't have capacity.

not because of the voltage its because of amps via usb the fone asks the moterboard usb chip for more power but se have to make it stop asking sometime otherwise you get the under power message on your screen. If you have something which just uses the 5v off the usb this is very bad as if your motherboard cannot supply enough power the device plugged in is not told to stop taking power so it conytinues to then your motherboard gets f...ed

Voltage is the same, it's the current that is lower.

I've seen so many usb ports fried this way fortunately normally it just fries the usb hub that the port is attached to and not the whole motherboard. However that usually means four or more ports gone, sometimes it can mean you have no more USB on your motherboard at all

Luckily it's never happened to me but I've seen it happen to my customers.
