W580i LCD Screen White & Grey !

Hi guys, does this sound like the LCD has packed up or could this be something else ? just thought id ask before attempting to replace the LCD.

When the phone is switched on the LCD just goes a grey white colour back around the edges, is it hard to change the LCD on this model ? I have changed the LCD on my Kaiser so had a little experience.

Any advice is welcome.
