m2 memory in se 580i looses format

I picked up a 2gig mem (sandisk) at the store for my black se att phone. all was well. 3 weeks (+or-) later, it isnt seen by the phone.

the kicker is , the software for the usb cable sees the memory stick and phone. i use the phone a bit during the day ( i am not rough with it) and the memory stick goes away. i eject and reinstall the stick. no go. i eject and reinstall after i turn off the phone. no go. i plug it into my pc and reinstall the stick. perfect. everything where i left it. i am goin nuts with this thing.

what the heck is goin on?
