You'll look a bit of a tw@ when you pick up your shoe to answer your phone...
+ a lot pf people, including myself, scramble into our pockets when we need to get phones/cash etc. out. I can imagine looking very stupid if I were to do that while holding my foot and falling into some old lady.

it will either get your things inside the sandals/shoes wet or you will be lucky in case it wont.
