I just bought an MPS 60 Speakers from a shopping website... The price was nearly 6 times low and the quality is of course comparable with the price...
Though I had an original MPS 60(bought from authorised SE Store) but i wanted to try these cheap ones
I have compared the two below... thought you might find it interesting....
Fake ones
Price- nearly 6 times low
Build Quality - cheap plastic... but doesn't look so bad
Sound - a little treble, less bass
Power Consumption - more than the original ones....
Carrying case: almost similar (except the colour)
I opened up both original and fake ones and found out -
Rating - Original 8ohm and 3W
Fake 8ohm and 2W (Here comes the major diff)
The parts (Mainly the capacitors) used inside the connector are the low ones that are available in the local radio shop, while those in the origial one are not available in the local shop....

I didnt know there was fakes mps-60 speakers, I think the black one is just another edition with less quality and lower price but not fake!

Black ones do come original but the ones shown here are fake
Even white ones also come fake....

On our market appeared one series of fake HPM60 headphones... I think there are still some people selling them... I have tried, and I can say that I never heared worse sound than that...
P.S. I'll post picture once I have chance to take one of them.

Well they surely differ in sound and built quality (maybe in loudness too)... They may also drain the battery faster due to the cheaper parts used to build them.

I had a pair of black ones from my w880 package and they ones in you comparison look exactly the same. Ususally fakes dont use the original companies logo for copyright reasons and they also differ in look a bit. Just liek the boot-leg ipod nano, psp, ps2, iphone...etc
I think you just like your white speakers better and wanted to show off both of you speakers.

got both the fake and original. Sound is the more treble less bass as posted earlier. Batt life seems to be the same. But I can leave the speakers in the office and not really worry about it getting lost due to price.

Just compare the prices of both the speakers and you will get to know that the black ones are really fake... their build quality and the un smooth edges.... makes it clear that the black ones are fake... all the other details are posted above so you can compare....
no hard feelings but this forum is for sharing knowledge and not for showing off... i am just comparing two products and you call it showing off... hey then according to you all the esato people here are showing off...

Think wat you want but as far as the speakers situation is the edges look just as smooth in both pics and by what your saying above your sayin all owneres of black walkmans phones with the mps60 have fake speakers.

i dont mean that.... have i ever said that all black ones are all fake... i just got these from somewhere and i am damn sure that these ones are fake... i am the one who is holding them in my hands right now and not you so how can you judge that mine are original or not... i know sony manufactures black as well as white ones but these have been manufactured by some third party so they are not original... thats it and thats simple and clear...

those fakers! even MPS-60. I was close to buying a HPM-82 to one of the website around here in the Philippines. Through a lot of research and looking at his product picture - I found it was fake - though he claims it is original. Just by looking at the Sony Ericsson logo on his product. you won;'t miss it. Its upside down. also the price.

first im sorry for my english, theres many kind of fakes accesories from SE n the other brand, i found it my self everyday in my country, n many people love to buy it because its much cheaper than the original, low quality of course, headset, battery, charger n many kind of it.

Well yeah you are right. Most people are going for the cheaper option, which of course, isn't always the best. Anyway, as I have said before, there is fake of everything...

Hey people... I was just thinking over those MPS 60.
I had opened my original ones and had found that the internal speaker (just the speaker and not the body or wires) was manufactured by some company named "VECO". I googled it up and searched for it. Its some company in Europe. Thus the speaker was manufactured in a European country and as the outer body says "Made in Malaysia"... the speaker casing would have been manufactured and assembled there. So it means the expensiveness of the speaker set is due to the transportation cost of its parts...
The chinese version of these speakers is manufactured all in one place so thats why a low price with a little bit compromise in quality...
So thats the reason why chinese products are low in price and if they pay a bit more attention to quality.... Sony can seriously face competition...
