Reactivating a lost phone

Hi everyone, about 8 months ago i lost my phone and my insurance company paid out and deactivated the phone, now i have found the bloomin thing! can i ring the network and reactivate it anyway or is it just useless??

if the phone hasn't been the subject of an insurance claim then you should be able to get the network that barred it to unbar it.
