Turning Old Japanese Phones into Trees

Japan's DoCoMo has announced that it is to partner with affiliate, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and its mobile subsidiary SMART Communications to support reforestation in the Philippines for the next three years.

DoCoMo will provide funding to the PLDT-SMART Foundation, a philanthropic organization, which will organize reforestation in to-be-decided strategic locations, such as Angat Dam, one of the nation's largest dams and the major source of drinking water for Metro Manila.
